Arakikanko Hotel Hotels in Kumamoto City

Arakikanko Hotel

"I honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys"

Super Hotel Kumamoto Ekimae Natural Hot Springs Hotels in Kumamoto City

"This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's super close to Kumamoto Station and also very near Kumamoto City Tram A. Plus, the breakfast is great, and they have a free self-service bar in the evening, along with a free onsen (hot spring). Laundry is only 200 yen, and there's even drinking water available – so many perks! The only tiny downside, maybe half a point off, is that the blankets aren't super comfortable, but everything else is perfect."

"Clean, Convenient, and Family-Friendly Stay I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. If you're planning to drive, please note that the hotel does not have free parking spaces. However, there are nearby paid parking options just a short walk away, so it's still quite convenient. There’s also a convenience store located right across the street, which is a big plus. Check-in and check-out are both quick and hassle-free, thanks to the hotel's automated machines. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and the room was spacious enough for my child to run around comfortably. One feature I especially appreciated was the in-room washing machine along with a heated drying rack and rail in the bathroom—super handy when traveling with kids and needing to wash their clothes. Nightgowns are also provided, just like at another Fav Lux hotel I stayed at in Nagasaki. The room is equipped with a full set of kitchen appliances, perfect for light cooking or preparing fruits and snacks."

"A beautifully appointed boutique hotel within walking distance of Suizenji garden. There is no parking space in the hotel but staff will park your car in the sister hotel just across the street for you so make sure you take everything you need from your car when you checkin . Service staff all very friendly and kind. Most speak a little English. Breakfast and Kaiseki dinner one of the best we have had in Japan. Dinner is served in a private room . Free alcoholic beverages available in the evenings. They do not have a big onsen for which you need to take a one minute walk to the sister hotel to use free of charge. They however have private onsens which you can reserve for your personal use. All in an excellent hotel . Highly recommended."

"This time, we took our family on a road trip through Kyushu and chose a 3-day, 2-night guesthouse in Kumamoto. Our whole family loved it! The facilities were new, the parking was spacious, it was about a 20-minute drive from Kumamoto Castle and department stores, and supermarkets and convenience stores were nearby. It was also very quiet. Highly recommended! We'll definitely come back next time! 😇😇😇"

The Blossom Kumamoto ★★★★
"This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The facilities are brand new, the place is spotless, and the staff are incredibly welcoming, providing thoughtful and meticulous service. Honestly, it's the best hotel of its class – no exaggeration. Next time I'm in Kumamoto, I'll definitely be staying here again. The hotel is right next to the AMU shopping mall, making dining, shopping, and entertainment super convenient. Plus, the station is just downstairs, so it's a breeze to get to Kumamoto Castle or Sakuramachi. They even have a large public bath, which is perfect for unwinding and washing away the day's fatigue when you get back to the hotel at night."

"Stayed for one night, and considering the price, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the experience was. The location is absolutely fantastic – you can just walk out and immediately start shopping. Besides regular stores, there's also a department store, and I particularly enjoyed the eel rice inside; it was delicious and quite affordable. Definitely worth staying here! 👍"

"this hotel is quite new so everything smells and feel ma fresh. The check in was a breeze and very friendly stafff and check out also was so quick just insert key in the machine and you are set to go. The only downside probably is the onsite prking.... Since its my first time in Kumamoto i had a hard time finding parking even if there are about 5 timed prking lot next to it. There is no driveway to temporarily parked the car while checking in. But if you dont have a car probably this would be the best hotel becoz its near Kumamoto station."

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kumamoto ★★★★
"The Mitsui Garden Hotel in Kumamoto is in a great location of the city. A short walk from shopping centers and the trams of Kumamoto, you will find yourself with an option to check in with staff or via a kiosk. The rooms for solo travelers is not too big, but has room for luggage and a good sized bed, and a desk too! A good air conditioner helps keep you cool during the summer, and you have good service from the staff as well! Amenities are located on the 1st floor, so stock up before going to your room. I would definitely stay here again in a new visit of Kumamoto."

Natural Hot Spring Higo no Yu Onyado Nono Kumamoto ★★★
"Overall, it was excellent. Upon entering the lobby, you're required to remove your shoes and place them in a shoe locker of your choice, which comes with a key. The staff are friendly; as soon as you walk in, they'll verify the names of guests checking in, which gives a good sense of security. They also help clean the wheels of your luggage so you can bring it into the shoeless areas of the building. The tatami mats in the room were very comfortable to walk on and extremely clean. However, I wouldn't recommend it for germaphobes because, in my opinion, their quick wipe of the luggage wheels isn't a thorough cleaning. The hallways on guest floors and elevator floors are carpeted, and it's clear they've seen a lot of luggage wheels, lol. Also, you can't wear slippers; only socks or bare feet are allowed inside the hotel. Well, aside from that cleaning concern, everything else was outstanding. The room was very spacious, and the hot springs and other public areas appeared to be very clean. If it's raining, you'll need an umbrella as soon as you leave the hotel and walk right for half a minute to reach the sheltered shopping street."
