Ark Hotel Kumamotojo Mae -Route Inn Hotels- ★★★
"Great view over the Kumamoto Castle but car parking space too far 10 minutes walk through roads and very risky. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for private Travelers."

Natural Hot Spring Higo no Yu Onyado Nono Kumamoto ★★★
"The location is super convenient, just a few steps from Shintori Shopping Arcade with tons of food options, and there's a Family Mart right downstairs. The hotel is very new, and the service is excellent. Though the room is small, it has everything you need. The late-night ramen, free popsicles, and Yakult are a big plus! It's a 10-minute taxi ride from Kumamoto Station, and you can walk to most major attractions. Highly recommended!"

Kikunan Onsen Yubel Hotel
"It was far from the city center, but it was quiet and nice, and the hotel's hot spring water was good. The facilities were small, but the room was spacious and the view was good. The soundproofing wasn't that great, but I slept well enough. The breakfast was delicious."
Natural Hot Spring Super Hotel Kumamoto Chamber of Commerce
"The room is quite small. But it has everything you need."
Arakikanko Hotel
"I honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys"
Super Hotel Kumamoto Ekimae Natural Hot Springs
"This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It's super close to Kumamoto Station and also very near Kumamoto City Tram A. Plus, the breakfast is great, and they have a free self-service bar in the evening, along with a free onsen (hot spring). Laundry is only 200 yen, and there's even drinking water available – so many perks! The only tiny downside, maybe half a point off, is that the blankets aren't super comfortable, but everything else is perfect."
ANA Crowne Plaza KUMAMOTO NEW SKY by IHG
"Impressed that you can order a medical massage service right into the room. And impressed with the view (we had 17 floor)"
HOTEL MYSTAYS Kumamoto Riverside
"Accidentally booked smoking instead of non smoking so had to put up with the smell for a couple of days, but that is all on me and not the hotel. Location is good and staff is friendly. Good value."
fav KUMAMOTO
"Clean, Convenient, and Family-Friendly Stay I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. If you're planning to drive, please note that the hotel does not have free parking spaces. However, there are nearby paid parking options just a short walk away, so it's still quite convenient. There’s also a convenience store located right across the street, which is a big plus. Check-in and check-out are both quick and hassle-free, thanks to the hotel's automated machines. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and the room was spacious enough for my child to run around comfortably. One feature I especially appreciated was the in-room washing machine along with a heated drying rack and rail in the bathroom—super handy when traveling with kids and needing to wash their clothes. Nightgowns are also provided, just like at another Fav Lux hotel I stayed at in Nagasaki. The room is equipped with a full set of kitchen appliances, perfect for light cooking or preparing fruits and snacks."
KOKO HOTEL Kumamoto Kamitori - formerly Hotel Wing International Select Kumamoto
"The location is good. There is a convenient store on the ground floor. The facilities are great too with a public bathroom locating on the top floor."
Candeo Hotels Kumamoto Shinshigai
Located in the lively Shinshigai area, this hotel features modern facilities and a rooftop public bath. It is a convenient base for exploring the city and enjoying local dining.
Ryotei Matsuya Honkan Suizenji
"A beautifully appointed boutique hotel within walking distance of Suizenji garden. There is no parking space in the hotel but staff will park your car in the sister hotel just across the street for you so make sure you take everything you need from your car when you checkin . Service staff all very friendly and kind. Most speak a little English. Breakfast and Kaiseki dinner one of the best we have had in Japan. Dinner is served in a private room . Free alcoholic beverages available in the evenings. They do not have a big onsen for which you need to take a one minute walk to the sister hotel to use free of charge. They however have private onsens which you can reserve for your personal use. All in an excellent hotel . Highly recommended."
MOYORI HOUSE Authentic Japanese stay near Kumamoto castle
"The elevator is quite old, but everything else is fine."
Akikawa Toshima 1
"This time, we took our family on a road trip through Kyushu and chose a 3-day, 2-night guesthouse in Kumamoto. Our whole family loved it! The facilities were new, the parking was spacious, it was about a 20-minute drive from Kumamoto Castle and department stores, and supermarkets and convenience stores were nearby. It was also very quiet. Highly recommended! We'll definitely come back next time! 😇😇😇"
