Hotel Garni "Café im Hamm" ★★★

"This is such a stellar place to stay. It is a quiet hotel not far from the town of Zell and sits on the Moselle. Each room has a balcony and are very nice. The renovations they did are within 10 years I believe and they did a very nice job of renovating. We stayed in the suite and it was a large one bedroom with a full and a half bath. We had a lovely large terrace on the top floor that overlooked the river with a table and four chairs with cushions. Breakfast each morning is served down in the café and it really is very European setting. They have outdoor tables as well. Breakfast was ample with a variety of choices and I loved how they gave you your own carafe of coffee if you wanted it! It would’ve been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room, but that is not very common in Europe to have with a hotel room like it is in the states. They have a selection of beer and wines for you to choose from if you’d like to purchase for your room. If we return to Zelle, we will definitely stay there again. The owners are hands-on and friendly. Their son, who also work there, was very nice… He helped us out with our BMW’s GPS language settings. It was also good to see that many Germans were staying there and seemed to be returning guests, which says a lot. Also, they have ample electric outlets, and the bathroom was large with a toilet and a bidet. It was very clean and comfortable. I thought their pricing was a great deal for the suite and the quality of accommodation."
