Very Good
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is next to the zoo and the train station, and the location is very convenient. It's a hotel with a very period feel. The rooms are heated and very comfortable in winter. Because the shelf is relatively high, the room looks spacious. Compared with many European hotels, the room size is quite large. The hotel has a parking lot, which costs 18 euros a night, which is more convenient for self-driving.
AAnonymous UserIt was a good stay for one month. The staffs are nice except some staffs, clean hotel, good breakfast, very decent according to the price, have overall construction or upgradation work throughout weeks, a little bit noisy for that. But it was good overall. Btw they will charge you security deposit of 10 euro for fan in summer, and city tax 3.5 euro per night.
HHans-MartinThe hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the main station. If you check in the apartment part of the hotel, you can also use the reception of the normal hotel. This is not equally visible.
First I had Apartment 1. (Photos) The third bed announced is just a seat here! Since there is a sound brumton fab here that didn't allow me to turn off, I got a new apartment in the first floor. There was a large bed sofa to the bed. Unfortunately, this was already completely out of the bed and was given so much room was laid.
In both apartments, it was necessary to clean it right again. On the cake-line shell was a large dust layer each.
The bed itself was large and very pleasant. With the motorized rollers it really becomes dark. The windows contain all the noise from outside in the house, but it is quite bright.
The water pressure in the shower could be better and the shower donor was empty and not re-filled.
Also the tea bags rich that included in Apartment 1 tea bags but was not filled in Apartment 16 after the last guest. Wi-Fi was stable.
SSUSAN TOMIf we could give this hotel a review of 10/5 we would. We stayed for an extended time (16 days) and during that time we experienced the best and friendliest service.
The reception staff was always friendly and cheerful. Everyone was ready to help with any question we had.
Breakfast was amazing. The selection was terrific. And every morning we were greeted by the pleasant and happy staff. One staff member told me she loves her job. Who doesn't want to stay in a hotel where the staff love working? Several days my mother who travelled with me was ill and the staff made it so easy for me to take breakfast to her in the room.
The room was terrific. We requested the accessible room and were not disappointed. Despite Ettlingen not being the most wheelchair friendly, Stadthotel Engel had every accessibility need addressed. The front entrance has no stairs. They have an elevator that stops at the breakfast room level. The bathroom in our room was wheelchair friendly with a raised toilet, fully accessible shower, and vanity that could accommodate a wheelchair underneath. We did not have a wheelchair but my mother has a walker which requires many of the same accommodations. The room has air conditioning for those who are concerned about that.
The location is amazing. From the hotel you are directly in the old city and can walk to many stores, cafes, and restaurants. The hotel entrance is located in an inside court area where there are tables that can be enjoyed during the nice weather.
GGuest UserThis is the second time we stayed here travelling back from the uk to Italy. Easy to find, clean comfortable and a good atmosphere. A great night’s sleep. Good parking and free which is always a bonus because we were travelling in a big van!
Only one thing I missed is a kettle in the room but hey Ho.
Would recommend 👍
CChuangdangshijieheshidoubuwanTowards the end of my trip, I left some clothes and shoes here and totally forgot my beloved floral hair tie. So sad! Overall, the hotel was quite good, seemingly a corporate-rate hotel or similar. This was the most affordable night of my trip (I didn't book breakfast; if I had, it would probably be the second most affordable). Everything met my expectations, and the transportation was convenient.
GGuest UserNice hotel in the heart of the city , easy to get from the train station to the hotel , also walking distance from karlsruhe schloss , staatliches museum , and Christmas market , located on the town Main Street that is full of shops , restaurants , its common to see people struggle with the check in process can be confusing and not for everyone so they should improve the check in machine
