The smart voice system in our room wasn't working… This is really important for young people. If this had been mentioned at check-in, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. But when the guest approached the front desk, it seemed the front desk was unaware that the smart speaker in their room had been sent back for repairs. The guest reported this late at night, and the front desk replied that housekeeping would bring one shortly… However, a few minutes later, a housekeeping staff member arrived empty-handed, saying it was broken and had been sent back for repairs. (It seems that several departments hadn't communicated or coordinated regarding the broken device.) Upon checkout, when the front desk asked for feedback, I mentioned the smart speaker issue. The man in the gray suit at the front desk asked, ”Is it not working properly or is it not available at all? It seems like one room's device was sent back for repairs.” (It seems like one room…) What? It seems like one room? His tone was uncertain, and he didn't know the room number. (As a manager, this equipment defect is a serious service oversight!)"
