Leo25This place was a dream.
Jia & Tong are lovely people with good taste. Travelling on my own and having little idea of what to do in the area (due to lacking Chinese language skills), Jia was super helpful with recommendations and arrangements. I only had one day but he managed to make arrangements in such a way that I saw another beautiful old Dong village that wasn’t too touristy as well as the stunning rice-field sunset.
I felt like I could even just spend the day watching the view from the balcony whilst drinking the amazing tea. But instead I had a great day and even rounded it off chatting in great company and trying some local drinks. The local people are creative, super friendly and some have a great sense of humour ;) I’ve hardly ever felt so taken care of, so safe, and with so much fun.
All the amenities are high quality, the sheets felt like 100% cotton (which is very rare across China I found!) The designs are great using local materials. And yes, the bath is great too! I forgot to ask for local shopping recommendations, which I am sure they must have as they have some beautiful items in the rooms and in the social area.
I very much hope to visit again soon. It feels like an area and a place full of people I would love to get to know better.

The facilities are clean and well-equipped, and the overall environment is excellent. Located at a high point in the Dong village, it's easily accessible from the entrance and offers beautiful views. The service is attentive.
The freshly ground coffee during breakfast hours was a nice touch.
The pickup service from Congjiang High-Speed Rail Station or the ticket office parking lot was very convenient.
The only minor suggestion is that during breakfast peak hours, the wait for food was a bit long. Even though the butler had pre-booked the breakfast time the night before, the noodles still needed to be freshly cooked. However, the accompanying eggs and corn were already cold. The noodles themselves were delicious! I'd recommend either improving the food's insulation or communicating with guests in advance about when to come down for their meal.

Guest UserIt's not possible to not give a perfect score to this homestay. The owner couple is so hospitable and genuinely warm.Due to the low season, I was upgraded to a bigger room with a great view of the padi fields. Room is tastefully decorated, very clean, warm, just that there's no separation of wet and dry area in the bathroom. The breakfast was superb with fresh starbucks capsule coffee available. There's a nice cafe opposite the homestay and bus station to the nearby Tang An village (for stunning terrace views) is only a short walk away.

worldangelBefore arriving, the homestay stafd took the initiative to contact me via Wechat so that they can arrange for transport to bring us from the train station to the hotel. This hotel is located inside Zhaoxing Ancient Village so do purchase the entrance tickets beforehand. The hotel is located towards the end of the village and our room is facing a small paddy field. It is very convenient to move around as it is only 5-10 minutes walk to the bus station if you want to take the shuttle bus to Tang'An Rice Terrace. It is also about 5-10 minutes walk to the centre of the village where you can find food and other necessities. The staff is very considerate- they will message me on wechat to ask what we prefer for breakfast so that they can prepare the noodles and coffee for us by the time we want to go down for breakfast. They can also deliver the breakfast to your room if you prefer. The beds are very comfortable although the pillows can be a bit harder and will be good to have more hooks in the bathroom for guests to hang their towels and clothes before showering. All in all, would highly recommend this homestay. Thank you for the hospitality!

Ambience: The room window overlooks a beautiful rice paddy field. The location is quiet at the end of the village, making it convenient for visiting Tang'an.
Cleanliness: Clean, no odors.
Service: Excellent. The included shuttle service is extremely convenient. Before your arrival, the customer service will provide recommendations for local food and attractions, as well as some travel tips. The breakfast is good, and the coffee is delicious. The first load of minibar items is free.
It's a perfect place to relax and unwind; it's very relaxing.

The B&B is right by the river, making it easy to fall asleep in the quiet night! The room was also very clean and tidy. The owner was very kind and provided various travel guides. There are many delicious restaurants nearby, and the main street is right across the Flower Bridge, making it very convenient to go out for dinner! In short, it is highly recommended.

I came to Zhaoxing Dong Village specifically to experience the Dong New Year and immerse myself in its festive atmosphere. The guesthouse is located near the Lituan Drum Tower; it's easy to find using a map, and the main street is just a short walk away. The rooms were clean and tidy, with all necessary toiletries provided. It was very quiet at night, and the landlady was warm and friendly. The Dong New Year parade, the traditional rice-making activity, the long table banquet, the Lusheng (a type of reed pipe instrument) competition, and the bonfire party were all part of the vibrant activities. I experienced the customs and traditions of the Dong people in southeastern Guizhou Province – a truly worthwhile trip. Finally, congratulations to the Lituan team for winning the Lusheng competition!

The service was excellent, the landlady was very friendly and kind. For the price, the facilities and scenery were exceptional, making it very cost-effective. The landlady readily upgraded our room because of the view of the rice paddies from the window. However, there are many hidden costs in this scenic area. Although the owner provided pick-up from the train station, you still need to pay an additional 20 yuan to get to the high-speed rail station. Parking at the entrance costs 20 yuan, and the daily entrance fee is 80 yuan. If you want to visit the rice terraces, you need to pay for a sightseeing bus. Personally, I didn't find any good food inside the scenic area.
In short, unless you have a strong fascination with the architecture of Guizhou's ethnic minorities, I wouldn't recommend coming here.

Wonderful homestay with all comforts. Modern amenities great wifi and close to centre but quiet. Excellent host who tried her best to communicate and make us feel comfortable. Great coffeshop on road nearby whose owner has perfect English ( and great coffee) who was a mine of information on local places to visit.
