Amazing
GGuest UserVery satisfied stay experience. The host family is very friendly and welcoming. We have a lot of luggage. The room we originally booked is on the second floor. They are not afraid to trouble us to change the room on the first floor to avoid our luggage. The whole cabin is very cozyly furnished, typical English country house. At dinner we walked about ten minutes to Half Moon, a restaurant in their recommended town, and enjoyed a delicious English dinner. We highly recommend friends from Gatwick Airport to stay at this family hotel for one night and experience pure English country life.
GGuest UserRoom was in a difffent building to one pictured on website, no one helped with my bags, building smelt of ****, super thin walls to the point where I could hear someone else snoring. definitely a reason why it’s so cheap.
SsengxiaocGreat manor-style hotel with large and comfortable rooms. The restaurant and bar taste good. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. The parking is convenient and free. Originally, it was a noble manor, with a large private territory and beautiful surroundings.
GGuest UserBrilliant location, only 5 minutes by bus from/to Gatwick Airport with a bus stop located outside the Guest House. My flight arrived after midnight, but after calling them 24 hours in advance, letting them know they left my room keys in a safe place. Very well informed of how to get there. It's a family run business, and they do care about their customers! Opted in for a continental breakfast, and I was also offered a homemade cake for free!
The place does show its signs of age and will definitely benefit from having a renovation. But otherwise, everything else was fantastic!
GGMeisterThis hotel offered a nice, but small, bedroom. As an airport hotel, it looks the part on entry: take note of the mirror at the reception, decorated around the frame with lots of badges from abroad.
I was surprised to see that the Saffron Grill Bar offers multiple food options, not just Indian cuisine that the name suggests, although I chose Indian food as I can’t say no to it. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but on the plus side, they were typical of Indian cuisine (they had 1 draft beer, Kingfisher, the rest of the drinks were bottled or were spirits).
My only complaint was the shower. I was not staying for long, but when I did use the shower, I found that the hot water was not very hot, even when the temperature was set to its hottest.
