KKellyBabeeeThe housekeeper proactively called us before check-in to add us on WeChat, and they responded to messages instantly. They were warm and polite. The pickup vehicle and driver were also waiting on time, providing excellent service. The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom glass door was sparkling, and the view from the window was lovely. The toiletries in the room were comprehensive, all from good brands, and they even provided a disposable bathtub liner, alcohol spray, laundry detergent, and moisturizing spray. The safety measures were also top-notch; it was my first time seeing a room equipped with not only full fire safety facilities but also an escape rope. The breakfast was well-balanced and delicious. Most importantly, the price was affordable, and it's pet-friendly with no extra cleaning fees! I truly hope this generous guesthouse expands and thrives, opening more locations in other places to give pet-owning road trippers like us more options. Please don't let those who try to take advantage and lack manners ruin your spirit. Just a small suggestion: put up two signs at the turn-off for the hotel, and add a few lights on the uphill path, as it's very dark walking back at night and easy to miss which turn it is!
AAnonymous UserI came to Zhaoxing Dong Village specifically to experience the Dong New Year and immerse myself in its festive atmosphere. The guesthouse is located near the Lituan Drum Tower; it's easy to find using a map, and the main street is just a short walk away. The rooms were clean and tidy, with all necessary toiletries provided. It was very quiet at night, and the landlady was warm and friendly. The Dong New Year parade, the traditional rice-making activity, the long table banquet, the Lusheng (a type of reed pipe instrument) competition, and the bonfire party were all part of the vibrant activities. I experienced the customs and traditions of the Dong people in southeastern Guizhou Province – a truly worthwhile trip. Finally, congratulations to the Lituan team for winning the Lusheng competition!
GGuest UserThe location of this hotel was excellent with a truly wonderful view of a drum tower, covered bridge, bright green fields and the mountains beyond; at night all the ancient buildings were lit up and glowed gold. The owners were extremely helpful with all my travel arrangements and kept in contact, answering my questions I had and ensuring I travelled to the hotel from the train station without any problems
CCiCIshishiTo start with the good points, the service was indeed very good; the staff helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Books were also available for borrowing. The hotel's location was actually quite good; it wasn't on the main street, so it wasn't too noisy. It was also relatively close to the village entrance.
There were two things I didn't like:
First, the cleanliness: We were originally assigned a room with a mountain view (or something like that, not much of a view, since I haven't seen it, I don't know), but they upgraded us to a room with a river view. The tatami room had a strange pillar; to get to the other side, you had to step onto the bed or walk along the edge. Also, one of the bedside tables wasn't on the bedside table; we had to move it ourselves. Opening the drawers of both bedside tables, one had water left by the previous guest, and the other had a bag for clothes. The toilet paper roll we received had a section that was wet from the outside in.
Second, the facilities: I really want to complain about the bathroom. The water heater was right above the sink, and it was leaking (probably why the toilet paper was wet). Water kept dripping, soaking the toothbrush and other skincare products next to it. There wasn't even a place to put clothes in the shower. The placement of the toilet seat is problematic. Usually, it's placed outwards, so you can wear a cover to keep warm. But this one is placed all the way inwards, meaning you have to wear eight covers on top. As soon as you sit down, your legs will be freezing cold.
GGuest UserThe location is in a small road and requires climbing a flight of stairs, so it is quiet and has good views. It's conveniently located on the main street, but it can be noisy. If you want quietness, choose this hotel. The facilities are complete and the scenery outside the window is also very good. I am satisfied.
QQumatouzhengdianshutiaoba2233The service was excellent, the landlady was very friendly and kind. For the price, the facilities and scenery were exceptional, making it very cost-effective. The landlady readily upgraded our room because of the view of the rice paddies from the window. However, there are many hidden costs in this scenic area. Although the owner provided pick-up from the train station, you still need to pay an additional 20 yuan to get to the high-speed rail station. Parking at the entrance costs 20 yuan, and the daily entrance fee is 80 yuan. If you want to visit the rice terraces, you need to pay for a sightseeing bus. Personally, I didn't find any good food inside the scenic area.
In short, unless you have a strong fascination with the architecture of Guizhou's ethnic minorities, I wouldn't recommend coming here.
GGuest UserExcellent stay, excellent service, very kind and helpful boss and wife. Location is easy to walk to everywhere. Room and bathroom was spacious, bed comfortable. I stayed 2 nights and slept very well. The boss picked me from and sent me to Congjiang High Speed Railway station. Would highly recommend this place
MMonika - SlovenskoFantastic stay at Bula Lakeside Hotel! Clean room with amazing lake view at the beginning of Zhaoxing Dong village. Hot water and heating worked without any problems. WIFI also worked. I would like to thank the staff the most - the girl at the reception who we communicated with via WeChat and a translator. We are foreigners who don't speak Chinese and she didn't speak English, but we managed everything. Also the gentleman who came to the train station to pick us up to make our way to the hotel easier. We also appreciate his cooking skills as he prepared a perfect dinner for us. I absolutely recommend this hotel and if we ever come back, we will stay here again. Thank you again for the nice time.
GGuest UserThis place was a pleasant surprise! The price was super cheap, and we just picked it randomly, expecting it to be terrible, but it turned out to be quite good. The facilities were complete, and the owner was a bit shy but seemed very kind, even giving us a free tour. It's worth mentioning that when we checked out, we went back to take some photos and discovered the view from the 3rd floor was excellent. Also, we saw the housekeeping staff diligently cleaning every floorboard in the rooms, and they really do change all the sheets and pillowcases for each new guest.
GGuest UserThe B&B is clean, tidy, and exceptionally quiet. The room is comfortable and peaceful, with no noise at all. The natural wood interior feels warm and cozy, and the lush greenery creates a serene and elegant atmosphere. It's perfect for sitting back with a cup of tea, escaping the hustle and bustle. The B&B even has a tea area, which is great for chatting and relaxing. It's an ideal spot for a vacation or simply to unwind and relax for a short stay.
