4-Star Hotels in Chengde

The rooms at Atour are consistently clean and comfortable, providing a sense of peace. The front desk staff and the service personnel on the 10th floor were very enthusiastic, attentive, and thoughtful. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of the Summer Palace, which allowed us to visit early and avoid tour groups, making for a great experience. We also didn't have to queue for the mountain shuttle before 8 AM. Furthermore, everything you could need is right downstairs, including various restaurants, bubble tea and coffee shops, malls, and supermarkets. I would definitely choose this place again next time.

Staying at Rehe Mansion was a fantastic experience. The hotel has both above-ground and underground parking, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. They offered welcome tea and snacks, and there were no extra charges for anything in the room. You absolutely must try the recommended almond milk with coffee from the in-room tea bar; I personally found it excellent, and I suggest having it chilled. Upon checkout, they even gave us a souvenir gift. For those with children, they provide special kids' toiletries, which was a very thoughtful touch. The only minor downside is that the roads around the hotel are a bit narrow.

Opened in 2024, the facilities are brand new, and the whole place feels clean and upscale. The location is super convenient, very close to Chengde South Station, just a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast selection is abundant, with both Chinese and Western options. The freshly made sandwiches and chicken noodle soup are delicious and very satisfying. Any requests are promptly addressed, making for a very comfortable overall experience. You can't go wrong staying here when visiting Chengde!

This is my second time visiting Wulingshan, and I chose Lanye Hotel again~ I've been eating breakfast at Shangu (Valley) restaurant, and I'm very satisfied, having eaten there for two consecutive days. I especially love the wild vegetable buns. The hotel was also incredibly thoughtful; knowing I was pregnant, they prepared an air purifier and a pregnancy pillow for me~ They also arranged for a high-floor room, so it wasn't noisy at all. They really put their heart into it!

The hotel's location is pretty good, and it's convenient for shopping nearby. However, this hotel shares a lobby with the neighboring Meihou Lizhi Hotel, but their prices are different! I don't quite understand why.

The hotel is located in an excellent area, close to many attractions and restaurants. The location made it very easy to explore the city. The view from the room was stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Everything was very clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job every day. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. The service was outstanding, and every request was handled quickly. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of fresh food. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service.

The trip to the Colorful Forest is perfect. 1. There are various sightseeing cars, carriages, camel riding, horse riding, and lakeside trains available in the Colorful Forest Scenic Area. If you are tired, take a car, and if you are not tired, hike. If you are hiking, the wooden plank road is also gentle, with basically no steep slopes, which is suitable for traveling with the elderly and children. 2. The scenic area costs 7 yuan for grilled sausages, 10 yuan for ice cream (a large cup), and 15 yuan for carrots for feeding deer (a large bag), which are friendly prices. 3. The scenic area is picturesque, and it is very filmy to take photos and check in. There are also various performances, which are very beautiful. 4. The service at the Squirrel Inn is very good. We arrived late and did not check in in time. At 7:30 in the evening, the front desk called to remind us that the bonfire party would start soon. 5. The bonfire party was so high, and there was a fireworks show. The scenic area was attentive. Disadvantages: Can a shelf be added to the bathroom and washroom? It is too inconvenient. Except for the bathroom, other aspects are perfect, a perfect parent-child trip. Come again next time.

The Hilton Garden Inn Chengde Summer Palace is perfectly located. It's a ten-minute walk to the Summer Palace, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and there's a gym and self-service laundry room. The hotel is a converted building, so the rooms are a bit small, there are few elevators, and street-facing rooms can be noisy. There's no executive lounge or in-room mini-fridge, and parking can be tight during peak season. It's ideal for travelers primarily visiting the Summer Palace and prioritizing convenience.

I chose this hotel for my trip, and my overall experience exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and well-ventilated, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, making for a very relaxing sleep. The entire room was meticulously cleaned, and the wash area was dry and odor-free. The front desk staff handled check-in efficiently, and they were patient in answering my questions. It's very convenient for dining and getting around, making for a very pleasant stay. I highly recommend it.

First, the pros: The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from Jinshanling Great Wall, which is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The hotel's design is also visually appealing, with individual courtyards forming a small village. The standard rooms are designed in a traditional enclosed style with a courtyard, offering good natural light and ventilation. Now for the cons: Firstly, some of the staff lack professional ethics (let's not even get into service quality). When we were checking out, we couldn't find a taxi. The concierge told us there was nothing they could do and we'd have to take an unlicensed car. Then, a male staff member offered to drive us for an exorbitant 600 yuan! Keep in mind, ride-sharing apps estimated the fare at just over 300 yuan, and a carpool would have been around 180 yuan! We later found out that there's a convenient tourist bus service at the visitor center near the hotel, which runs daily to Beijing Dongzhimen for only 80 yuan, but the staff deliberately withheld this information! Many international guests stay at this hotel; such responses would be a disgrace to Chinese hospitality! I hope the hotel takes this seriously and rectifies the situation. Another issue is the hotel restaurant, which is quite a rip-off. The 78-yuan smoked chicken had a thick layer of coriander under it, with very little meat! In short, while the hotel itself is beautiful, the service ruins the experience. I've included photos, both good and bad, so everyone can be aware and avoid potential pitfalls.
