LLibraKKKThe environment is pleasant, though the resort area is quite small and pales in comparison to Aranya in Beidaihe. The hotel's interior design is lovely and very Japanese in style. The courtyard features many beautiful hydrangeas. The minibar being constantly restocked is a definite plus. Breakfast is served at a nearby restaurant, where you can choose one of three à la carte buffet options; the food was decent. While polite, the staff's attitude felt rather cold and indifferent. There were no perks like early check-in, late check-out, or room upgrades, which is fine, as the hotel isn't obligated to provide them.
What really ticked me off was an incident during check-out. The day before, the butler had explicitly told us that two bottles of body lotion would be left at the front desk for us to collect when we checked out. However, when checking out, the front desk didn't mention it at all until I brought it up. Then, the staff acted as if I was trying to swindle them out of a major freebie, going through a ridiculously elaborate verification process, only to eventually hand over just *one* bottle. It made me feel like I was begging for a gift. I almost decided to just drop it, but the more I thought about it, the more annoyed I became. They were the ones who offered it in the first place, yet they made me feel like I was trying to take advantage. So, I insisted on receiving the two body lotions that were initially promised. I've stayed at many hotels that offer complimentary parting gifts upon check-out, and those always cheerfully enhanced my overall satisfaction. This experience, however, left me absolutely furious. They seriously need to train their staff on proper communication protocols.

GGuest UserWhen I came back to Beijing to travel to Chengde, I found Changcheng Hotel and decided to stay there. I usually choose a comfortable and cost-effective hotel when I go out. The location of Changcheng Hotel is great! Elegant environment, convenient transportation and beautiful environment! Warm service! The room facilities are great! Mainly the bed and pillows are more comfortable.
Check-in experience: Front desk receptionists Manager Jiahui, Xiao Ming and Xiao Jin greeted every guest with professional smiles and polite greetings. They not only quickly checked in, but also carefully recommended surrounding restaurants and sightseeing spots based on my needs. Make people feel the warmth and caring of home.
At first glance, it is clear that the front desk manager manages the hotel well and that is why the employees are so good. [strong][strong][strong][strong]
Catering service: The breakfast area is not only rich in variety, but also takes into account the dietary preferences of different guests. Whether it is Chinese dim sum or Xishi, you can find a choice that suits your taste.
Finally, let me emphasize that this hotel is really great! Especially the front desk greets guests politely when they see them. I really like this person. There was a guest next to me when I checked in. All kinds and the front desk will give you breakfast and steam bath tickets. Always giving the front desk a hard time. But the front desk is also very patient in serving guests.
Overall, I am quite satisfied, the facilities and environment are sanitary, and the service is exceptional 👌

From the moment you step into the hotel, you can feel the attentiveness: the front desk staff Xu Wenjing is enthusiastic and patient, quickly checks you in and recommends nearby food; the room is clean and tidy, the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, and all smart devices are available. The breakfast has a rich variety, a reasonable mix of Chinese and Western styles, and the taste is great. The location is super convenient. Highly recommended, I will definitely choose this one next time I come here!

Service was good they told us about some tours they offer discounts on and a cool show about an emperor that has like 300 actors in it. Was cheaper than just buying it at the location
I booked this because my wife said it was more “central” it was not. Kind of in the middle of nowhere tho near a temple we did visit. The other hotels are near the river and you can walk and see some real nice bridges and lighted up streets.
The photos make the building look really cool. While the photos aren’t fake it’s way smaller than I thought it would be.
The room itself was kind of small. Like half the size of the phoenix hotel and is only 4 floors so not much of a view. Mine was of a parking lot.
Bathroom was nice the toilet was automatic and had a heated seat.
No breakfast. Bed wasn’t all that comfortable and not much of a view. Did have a shopping center next door and taxis stopped near it.
Kind of pricey but that was because of the 7 day holiday they had. I stayed at phoenix the week before and it was 200 rnb cheaper, nicer, more modern, twice the size, nicer shampoo/soap and had free breakfast.

PPYguanxinThe hotel is conveniently located, very close to the summer resort. There are also many restaurants nearby. I stayed in building 7 of the hotel and the room was very comfortable and clean and the receptionist in the lobby was friendly and friendly. The cleaning sister is also good. GGuest UserThe room was spacious, with excellent views and plenty of windows, offering a pleasant view. The facilities were a bit dated, but they worked perfectly. The round outlet on the bedside table was very practical and a nice touch. The toilet paper was awkwardly placed next to the toilet, making it difficult to reach. Elderly people with frozen shoulder would find it very difficult to reach. We recommend this improvement. The breakfast variety and quality were acceptable, but the dining room carpet was worn, and the odor was a bit unpleasant.

Tturquoise2462Very disappointed. I was attracted by the hotel's brand. I didn't look at other hotels when I saw that there was one in Saihanba. I booked it even though it was a bit more expensive. I was very disappointed. This is the first time I give a non-five-star review. I am really dissatisfied with the hotel facilities. The waiters are very good. There is no problem with pulling luggage from the parking lot, the Hada welcoming guests in the lobby, the attitude of checking in and the souvenirs. But the facilities are very unsatisfactory. The children who stayed in the room for nearly 1,300 yuan paid attention to the room. In addition to cartoons on the wall, there were a few dolls on the bed, and one of them had a thread open and exposed cotton. There was nothing else related to children: the most basic ones were no children's toiletries, no children's bath towels and bathrobes, and there were no children's water cups in the photos. There were only two sets of toiletries for adults. Is it that the default check-in for children's theme rooms is two people? The tap water is yellow. The photos can't show it, but you can see that there is sand. Because there were many people on holidays, breakfast was free of charge for supplies, and the noodle stall waited for a long time for the bowls. After cleaning the tableware on the previous table, the table was wiped with a cloth to wipe the residue, and it was not changed to wipe it again.

PPhoenix_NgThis seems to be the only hotel near the central gate of the Jinshanling Great Wall. If you don't want to stay in a guesthouse, this is pretty much your only option. I booked it for that reason, and although I was a bit worried after seeing some negative reviews, I was very satisfied with my stay. We arrived by bus from Chengde at 10 AM, and I really appreciate the front desk allowing us to check in immediately. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel's location is fantastic, just a two-minute walk to the central gate's ticket office. We had dinner at the hotel, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Both dinner and breakfast the next day were delicious. If I had to pick a flaw, the hotel staff were a bit cold.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a main building and another annex building behind it. The facilities may be a bit older than the newly renovated hotel. I saw a comment saying that the bathroom inside still has a bathtub, so I specially chose a room type without a bathtub. The room is also clean. The location is very good, just opposite the entrance of the Summer Resort, Lizheng Gate, and next to it is a large shopping mall, Jinlong Plaza. There is a RT-Mart supermarket in the basement of Jinlong Plaza, which is very convenient for eating and shopping. The bus from Chengde Distribution Center to Jinshanling Great Wall is just opposite the Lizheng Gate parking lot. There are various buses at the entrance of the hotel, going to Chengde Museum, Little Potala Palace, and Puning Temple.
