GGuest UserThis was my first time in Chengde, and after comparing several hotels, I chose this one.
The location is close to the city center, though it's on a hillside. However, entering the hotel from the north gate is very convenient.
The hotel's facilities and service are excellent. The staff greeted us with smiles, were warm and attentive, and politely welcomed us upon check-in and departure. The front desk even gave a gift of candy to our child, which felt more personal than what you get at some so-called five-star hotels.
It happened to be my mother's birthday during our trip, so we arranged her birthday dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant on the second floor. The food was just as good as the Xin Qianlong restaurant we'd eaten at the day before. The hotel even helped decorate the private room, making the birthday celebration more festive.
I've traveled to many places and stayed in all kinds of hotels, but the service and warmth here were outstanding in every aspect. I'd like to give them a thumbs-up and say thank you!

Friendly and help staff.
Clean and spacious room.
Good spread of breakfast.

CCocodaiTraveling with both the elderly and young kids, we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to get away for the weekend. I had already set my sights on this hotel, and the drive here was smooth. The hotel grounds are lovely, very peaceful and comfortable. No TV is actually a genius move, really good! It really helped my family focus on relaxation and the outdoors.
The kids absolutely loved the private hot spring. They were a bit disappointed they couldn't go into the public one, so for 468 for 2 hours, we booked a private one for them to enjoy. It was fantastic, especially the little milk bath – so refreshing and cool.

The hotel boasts a serene and elegant environment, meticulously clean and tidy throughout, creating a wonderful ambiance. The guest rooms are spotless, with every corner impeccably clean, making for a truly reassuring stay. The in-room amenities are complete and practical, and the layout is well-designed, ensuring a very comfortable experience.
The breakfast buffet offers a fantastic selection of fresh and delicious dishes, with hot and cold options, porridges, and pastries all available. The food is flavorful and authentic, leaving me completely satisfied. The staff are warm, polite, and attentive, making the entire check-in and stay process smooth and pleasant. Overall, the experience was excellent, and this will be my top choice for accommodation when traveling!

Service was good they told us about some tours they offer discounts on and a cool show about an emperor that has like 300 actors in it. Was cheaper than just buying it at the location
I booked this because my wife said it was more “central” it was not. Kind of in the middle of nowhere tho near a temple we did visit. The other hotels are near the river and you can walk and see some real nice bridges and lighted up streets.
The photos make the building look really cool. While the photos aren’t fake it’s way smaller than I thought it would be.
The room itself was kind of small. Like half the size of the phoenix hotel and is only 4 floors so not much of a view. Mine was of a parking lot.
Bathroom was nice the toilet was automatic and had a heated seat.
No breakfast. Bed wasn’t all that comfortable and not much of a view. Did have a shopping center next door and taxis stopped near it.
Kind of pricey but that was because of the 7 day holiday they had. I stayed at phoenix the week before and it was 200 rnb cheaper, nicer, more modern, twice the size, nicer shampoo/soap and had free breakfast.

DDahuaI booked this hotel by accident. I thought it wouldn't be very good based on the ratings, but it exceeded my expectations. The location is near Chengde South Expressway. We found the hotel quickly after getting off the expressway. The room was large and the price was right. It is considered a relatively high-end hotel in the same price range. The area around it is very quiet, with almost no noise. It is a very nice hotel!

GGuest UserFacilities: Excellent. I'm a long-time member, though I don't stay often.
Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy.
Environment: The environment is great; it's right across from the Kangxi Grand Ceremony performance venue, and you can see the mountain views at night and in the early morning.
Service: The receptionists were very friendly and attentive, especially the lovely Xiao Jinyan, who provided excellent service and even gave me a small gift.
Overall, Holiday Inn Express is still my top choice for travel. I'll continue to follow them.
