Our stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. This was such a great find! Chao speaks great English and was super helpful organising a van from Beijing for us and taxis to the wall entrance. His wife is an excellent chef - the food was delicious! The house/apartment was very very comfortable and really well appointed. Highly, highly recommended if you’re looking to explore this part of the wall - which is very beautiful and very quiet.

Hotel just a short walking distance to Jinshanling great wall entrance. After 4 hrs climbing up and down great wall. It good to walk back to hotel for a rest. Room is spacious and simple. Breakfast is typical Chinese style -- porridge, bun, vegetables. They do offer cook food at reasonable price. Only con is toilet floor will be wet after showering.

I had an excellent 4-night stay at the ‘Chengde Sophia Hotel (Li Zheng Men)’. The highlight of my experience was undoubtedly the wonderful staff. From the moment I arrived, the front desk was incredibly welcoming and efficient. A staff member kindly helped me with my luggage and escorted me to my room, which was a very thoughtful touch after a long journey. This level of service continued throughout my stay, with all employees being courteous and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was excellent, providing a great night's sleep every night. Everything was in good working order, and the room was quiet, allowing for perfect rest. The hotel's location was convenient for my needs, making it easy to explore the area. I would highly recommend the Chengde Sophia Hotel to anyone visiting the city. It offers great value, comfort, and, most importantly, exceptional and friendly service. I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip to Chengde.

The lobby was fancy and clean, and the front desk staff were friendly, even though they didn't speak any English Check-in as a foreign was hassle-free. The breakfast buffet was typical Chinese hotel breakfast food, just normal, but lacking in fresh fruit. It's close enough to the Mountain Scenic area to walk. I have two complaints, though. I had a windowless room, and it smelled awful inside, and the ventilation fan didn't help get rid of the smell. Also, the shower door wouldn't close all the way, so it left a huge puddle on the bathroom floor every time I took a shower. It was uncomfortable taking a shower while trying to hold the door shut as much as possible, too. The room was clean, when I checked in, though, and cleaned daily. I could hear some noise from guests in other rooms, like loud talking and toilets flushing. It would definitely be better if I had gotten a room with windows, to help get that smell out. It's easy to walk along the river from this hotel's location, though.

At the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

We were very happy with our stay. Great place for families that need the extra room. We had an apartment over 2 floors, 2 bedrooms and a large living room. Perfect for our family of 5. The breakfast included was extremely generous! There was so much food we couldn’t finish. We also ate at the restaurant a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the food. This resort is close to the Great Wall. A little bit far to walk, but the staff were happy to drop us off at the entrance and then pick us up again. This was very helpful! We will definitely stay again.

Le jingshanling great wall hotel est parfaitement placé, juste à côté de l’entrée du parc d’accès à la grande muraille. Nous y étions en hiver et en semaine, hôtel était quasi vide, le personnel nombreux était très serviable. Personne ne parlait anglais, mais avec les applications de traduction nous avons toujours réussi à nous faire comprendre. L’hôtel ressemble à un lodge de grand parc américain avec un grand espace commun dans un bâtiment principal et tout autour des bâtiments de logements. Les chambres sont confortables. Nous avons fait un très bon dîner au restaurant le soir. Le matin, notre petit déjeuner a été servi à table car nous étions seuls.
