Guest UserI stayed here for two nights and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the location was super convenient for getting around. The host was quick to respond, and the check-in process was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again.

Vitali777The hotel is in the city center. We had an excellent check-in experience. The room was small and without a window. It's a bit worn out, of course.
When we checked in, we mentioned we'd be leaving early in the morning and asked for breakfast. We came down, and some people were sleeping on benches, others elsewhere. This is the first time I've seen something like this! What can I say? Of course, we didn't get breakfast to go.

Bon LawWe stayed at hotel chateau de hanoi for 2 nights and overall, it was an under-average experience. For its price (pre-discount and considering we were in Vietnam) it might not be that worth it.
We booked the hotel because of its high-rated reviews and its branding as a 5 star boutique hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the staff was friendly. We arrived hanoi quite early, so we asked if we could do an early check-in. We were informed by the staff that an early check-in was not impossible, but there was an extra charge. It was however totally understandable that the hotel has their arrangements so we went along with the regular check-in time, but the staff quite passive aggressively told us that they informed us on WhatsApp— we were on a flight and later on a Grab to the hotel so we were unable to read the message entirely. I would expect a 5-star service to be more understanding.
To be very honest, I would doubt if the hotel qualifies to be categorized into a 5-star hotel. Of course, the hotel provides customers with all the necessary amenities like toothbrush and shaving kits, but the hotel room didn’t have a window and lighting was insufficient. There was a bathtub, but there was no proper standing shower and it was just a shower head next to the toilet without curtains or doors. The twin bed was extremely small and too easy to be moved around (in a sense that if I wanted to sit at the edge of bed, the mattress would slide to that side).
Hygiene was fine but some areas such as the wall and the bathing area could be improved. We ran out of tissue paper in the room as well but after housekeeping the box was still empty and not replaced with a new box of tissue. Soundproofing at the hotel was not solid since we could constantly hear noises from next door during midnight.
In our booking package free breakfast was included, so we checked it out in the morning. A small buffet was provided, but the plates and utensils had oil on them. There was a set menu, but the scrambled eggs were not up to par and the pho was okay. Considering the hotel brands itself as a 5-star hotel, I would expect better hygiene and quality check.
Location-wise, the hotel is located at the heart of Old Quarter. It is convenient but this also means traffic can get very hectic nearby. Moreover we realized the staff was getting less and less friendly as we reached the end of our stay. It would be nice if their attitude and service could be more consistent, again, given it is a 5-star hotel.

Sean SharkeyOverall very pleased with the quality of the room and professionalism of the staff. Personally, I would not stay in the old quarter again next time I visit Hanoi because it is a bit too chaotic for my taste. But the Aurora hotel was an excellent location and hotel, that I would recommend if you wish to stay in the Old Quarter.

JiaowoxiaodouyaThis was a last-minute decision, staying one night in the city center. I chose a slightly better option near Hoan Kiem Lake, as it was my first time visiting Vietnam. What a pleasant surprise to check in without having to stand awkwardly at the front desk! Instead, I could comfortably sit, enjoy complimentary watermelon and drinks, while the staff processed everything. A very friendly and beautiful staff member even gave us a detailed English explanation of nearby attractions like the night market and Train Street – it was truly impressive, something even five-star hotels often don't offer! The room itself was a bit standard and the facilities were a little dated, but overall it was perfectly fine. It was also very convenient for going out to eat. The hotel breakfast was quite satisfying, with both Chinese and Western options. They’d even bring pho directly to your table after you ordered, and someone would come around to pour juice. Plus, they had my favorite passion fruit! There are a few steps at the entrance, and the staff were quick to help with our luggage. No wonder so many people love coming to Vietnam for vacation!

HanjiangyuThe front desk staff speaks Chinese, which is a big plus. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, the facilities here are quite comprehensive and well-maintained. I also appreciate that rooms with balconies allow smoking. Overall, it's great value for money. I spent about a week in Hanoi, staying at various places, and this is by far the best value hotel I found. I usually don't leave reviews, but I was really comfortable here and wanted to recommend it.

Guest UserThe room was very spacious, the bathroom, towels, and sheets were clean. It felt luxurious!
The problem I had was mainly the communication, I was told that I will receive check-in instructions on the check-in day, they ignored my messages through trip.com, ended up calling my host on whatsapp to know the exact location, and was only told to send a passport photo. I understand they must be worried about security (and it's self check-in) but this way of system does not feel very safe for guests either. We sorted it out in the end, but it didn't feel very friendly overall.
I think the cleaner must only be checking the obvious places, because when I moved the table mat on the dining table, it was drenched with maybe soy sauce? I didn't mind cleaning up after, but some other guests would be pretty bothered by this.
The room itself was very nice. I would recommend staying if they had a better system!

The room decor is a bit dated, but it's well-maintained. The twin room felt a bit small because of the beds, and I was slightly disappointed there was no bathtub, as previous stays at this hotel always had one. This is a standard large hotel, featuring a swimming pool, gym, and spa. The buffet restaurant also meets typical large hotel standards, offering a rich variety of Western, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisine. I've always been very satisfied.

Expat EDventuresWhat a great location in the middle of the hustle in bustle! This hotel is a family owned and operated business. We met the owners son and wife who manage the property and they are lovely people and give great recommendation. Check-in was quick and seamless. They greeted us with welcome tea and gave us a map with a thorough briefing of the best places to eat and visit. They even ran our luggage up and had someone turn the AC on before we got in our room so it would be cool upon entry. The room was cozy and the bed had a supportive mattress but I am partial to the hard beds of Asia. Breakfast was at the top in a beautiful space and they made your eggs to order. I only wish the shower door did a better job of keeping the water in. We tried to book them after our HaLong Bay cruise canceled but sadly they were fully booked. We will be back!

Guest UserThis was a strange experience. Do NOT book this hotel if you require a place with strong wifi connection. The wifi cuts out quite regularly and is borderline unusable.
The room is fine as long as all you require is a bed to sleep in, I will say the bed was VERY comfortable compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in.
The shower head was leaky (eh didn’t really bother me) but trying to find which direction to turn the tap to find the hot water was like trying to tune an old radio 🥴.
The free breakfast in the morning was like being cooked a home cooked meal by your aunt and uncle (a little uncomfortable but free food is free food), just don’t go popping the free candy in your mouth without checking it first as ants seem to get everywhere here (but that’s just my personal experience).
The staff are polite. The location is good but keep in mind that you are VERY close to the Train Street and the trains are VERY loud and you can hear them from the hotel 🥲.
Do you want to sacrifice quality sleep for a prime location? Thats up to you.
Overall was a pretty meh hotel 6/10 experience 🤷♀️
