My husband and I travel quite frequently, and we can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, every detail felt thoughtful, warm, and genuinely exceptional.
We initially booked the Grand Suite for 3 days and 2 nights before heading off on a Ha Long Bay cruise, then returned to Classyc for the remainder of our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with cold towels, welcome drinks, and snacks—such a refreshing and thoughtful touch after traveling.
The service throughout our stay was impeccable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond. Arthur personally escorted us to our room and even checked in with us later that evening via message to ensure everything was perfect. We were also welcomed with chocolates in the room, which made the experience feel even more personal.
It’s the little touches that truly set this hotel apart. We received complimentary wine vouchers, spa discounts, and consistently warm, attentive service at every interaction. When we returned from Ha Long Bay, it genuinely felt like we were coming home. Walking into our new room to find a heart-shaped chocolate mousse cake and a handwritten welcome-back note from the team was such a thoughtful and memorable surprise
There was also a moment that really reflected the hotel’s integrity and commitment to guest satisfaction. We had booked a signature spa package, not realizing it wasn’t included in the 20% discount promotion. While we didn’t raise any concerns, the staff proactively followed up the next day at breakfast, apologized for the confusion, and extended the discount to us anyway. We were genuinely touched by this gesture—it spoke volumes about how much they care about their guests’ experience.
On our final day, we had some time to spare before our flight. After exploring the city, we returned to the hotel and the staff kindly offered us access to the spa facilities so we could freshen up before heading to the airport—an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture. They also arranged a luxury transfer for us, complete with comfortable seats and even a massage function, which made the journey that much more enjoyable!
As we were leaving, one of the staff members surprised us with a beautiful ceramic wind chime symbolizing positive energy and good luck. It was such a meaningful and heartfelt farewell, and a perfect end to an already unforgettable stay.
A few additional highlights worth mentioning:
- A great breakfast spread with plenty of variety
- A lovely rooftop pool area to unwind
- Reno Bar downstairs, which became one of our favorite spots in Hanoi—fantastic cocktails, delicious bar snacks, a cool retro vibe, and great music. During our visit with some friends they even surprised us with a complimentary tray of shots!
Classyc is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience defined by genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and heartfelt service. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Hanoi, just so we can stay here again!

MMorison MorisonThe hotel location is very perfect, and easy to go to anywhere in old quarter. I like stay in here cause easy to go to pub, eating place, spa, and so many shop and eateries in here. But the very important thing is cindy because she is friendly and care to us and to the people stay in here and every morning she come to breakfast area and coming to our table too in the breakfast time and asking what we need for breakfast and anything we need for breakfast and in the hotel and chit chat with us. Before we going to airport and she give us 2 gift of this coffee. All the staff in this hotel very help and friendly and room boy helps us to bring our luggage to lobby hotel. Only 1 things this hotel need to improve is the gym, cause the gym don't have many equipment for doing the gym. Everything is perfect, keep going with your service. We will come back again to this hotel when we come to hanoi again. Thanks you all staff and cindy and this hotel splendid premium hotel. 👍👍👍

Breakfast spread was great. And location is really near night market and lake.

AAnonymous Guest UserConveniently-located hotel near the Hoan Kiem lake. The property has wider entrance but the hallways and elevators are very narrow like other thin and slim boutique cheaper hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. The room is also small and bathroom shower space is even much smaller than you expect for the hotel price, I had to reach out my hand into really narrow corner enclave to grab the shower nozzle. If you are aware that you are an oversize folk, it is advised to book upper-rate wide rooms. The better part is they have comfy and wide beds compared to similar-looking hotels nearby. The airconditioner is a smart and sharp one inside the ceiling and cools down the room quickly without much noise, but when I first entered the room the airconditioner was ”heat / fan” mode only and I had to complain to the front desk to switch it to ”cool” and waited more than 10 minutes in the humid room, because the front desk didn't inform anything whether someone would come to the room to fix it or it can be fixed remotely. It was fixed remotely but I don't understand why they limit the cooling function at all. The desk in the room was dusty and it was not obviously swipe-cleaned. Even before that dismay, nobody helped me carry the luggage to my room. The clerk just told me to follow her upto the room after check-in, with 10 kg+ heavy bags on my back and shoulders. I was confused in the lobby area, seeing around in disappointment, couldn't believe they were not going to carry my luggage, but she just prompted me to come after her. I never experienced such treatment before even at cheapest hotels in Vietnam. Even I do not give too negative grading, my stay was quite unsatisfactory. The best part was breakfast, the view from the restaurant and food is really great. Although the variety is not gorgeous, the quality and taste are comparable to more expensive luxury hotels in Hanoi. Honestly I can say the breakfast taste here is the best among the boutique hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. The hotel has many good points but the operation should be improved.

GGuest UserI had the best experience at The Legend Hanoi. I checked in quite late around midnight and they still checked me in quite quickly and assisted me with my bags up to my room. They would always give me complimentary water too which I appreciated. During my trip in Hanoi, I unfortunately got food poisoning, and I was bed bound, but one of the members of staff kindly walked with me to the Pharmacy to help get me medication as well as translate for me, which I really appreciate. Also when I skipped breakfast in the morning due to sickness, the manager messaged me to check if I was okay, and brought breakfast directly to me so I wouldn’t have to leave the room. I would definitely come back and stay here again !

GGuest UserAll the staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast was international, offering both European and Asian options. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the kitchen facilities were fully equipped, making cooking extremely convenient. (There's a small supermarket right by the hotel entrance with a few simple vegetables, frozen meats like steaks, and rice and noodles, which is perfect for basic cooking.) The gym was huge with a super comprehensive range of equipment. The hotel also has a small gate providing access to the lake, and there's a shuttle bus service to the city center.

VVivindyThe hotel is quite far from the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter. It's an older hotel. The rooms have a strong scent of air freshener (which I didn't find pleasant). The room was spacious but very sparsely decorated and lacked coziness. You shower in a bathtub. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good selection of both Western and Asian options. There's a small pool on the rooftop. The receptionist was super friendly, compliments to her! There's a spa in the basement, and all massages are 30% off. We had a foot massage, which was lovely, complete with an eye mask and a warm cherry pit neck warmer.

1/ Overbooking situation - cancellation the day before landing
My friend and I booked two separate rooms to stay at this hotel, the day before the check in, my friend's booking got cancelled by the hotel without information. We had contacted the hotel several times in vain, then it was confirmed that they have overbooked the hotel which caused to trouble to start with our holiday.
Hotel Director of sales M. Victor N. did replied by email on the checking day 18/4 few hours before that ”we don't know the fact. You can make your reservation on our website now.” The remaining option on 18/4 morning was a ”suite” 14 times higher rate than our initial booking...
Therefore once arrived at Hanoi, we wanted to get a refund of my remaining booking but the hotel reception lady Mrs Ruby was not helpful at first and rude towards us. Her non hospitality professionalism and communication led us feel very unwelcomed (no smile, no thank you, speaking vietnamese with her colleague in front of us). May need to review if she really should stay at the reception as this is client facing interaction and should be solution driven.
She strictly insisted that she doesn't know why we only got one room left and my booking was non refundable even tough they did cancelled my friend's one few hours ago. After negotiation, she kept saying as it is non refundable, either we stay, either we book another room.
At that moment, there was an another room not the Suite one that just got available ”King room” and if we could pay the price difference which is higher than our initial paid booking and need to stay together in the same room.
As we just started the holidays and to not loose the money that we could not get refunded, we paid the difference to change to that room. We paid in cash to get that room.
We thought that was going to be just one off issue/misunderstanding and could start our holidays.
Note: If you pay in credit card they will charge 3% additional. The exchange rate is more convenient to change at jewelry gold shop in Hàng Bac street (5 mins walk), the rate at the hotel is too high, don't change there.
2/ Cleanliness
As we got this better king's room with window, we were expecting that to be at least clean and suitable for 2 pax.
The bed sheets and cushions were yellowish, the floor was not vacuum (dead bees staying there whole stay), the slippers are dirty, the wall is stained and some unfinished renovation. The worst is the shower/bathtub, once you shower, it will flood to the room, we had to put towels to absorb the water in the room.
You have to ask for towels if they clean your room as they will forget.
3/ Breakfast
Be aware that it is from 6:30am to 9:30am, the breakfast is correct as a mini buffet
Overall this hotel is average, the positive points are the location and the other gentleman receptionist allowing us to have a ”late check out” at noon instead of 11am, as if after noon they will charge one night more.
The hotel should stop with overbooking rooms that will cause unnecessary stress situation for everyone and need to be renovated.
To be honest, you can have much more great options nearby, CLEAN and with great hospitality service. As part of holidays and for a decent price, just book another hotel to avoid negative start for your holidays.
