Outstanding
DDruchiiHaving enjoyed a previous stay in February, I chose to return this July. I requested an east-facing room and was delighted that my wish was granted. The sunrise view towards the Skytree and the National Diet Building around 4:30 AM in summer is absolutely breathtaking, easily rivaling any dedicated observation deck experience. The Japanese set breakfast was both substantial and delicious, and the serene view of pine trees reflected in the restaurant's pond was incredibly soothing. Furthermore, perhaps owing to its prime location near the National Diet Building and the Prime Minister's Official Residence, the hotel offers incredibly convenient direct underground access to public transportation, yet the street-level environment remains remarkably quiet and tranquil. The staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly, and the presence of Chinese-speaking personnel ensures that Chinese guests will face virtually no language barriers. On a delightful side note, the ambient fragrance used in The Capitol Hotel Tokyu's corridors is utterly captivating – I highly recommend making it available for purchase at the hotel's souvenir shop! I will absolutely be rebooking here for my next trip to Tokyo.

GGuest UserIt was our first time staying at Hotel Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport, as we usually stayed at the adjacent Villa Fontaine Hotel. The Premier property definitely feels more upscale and refined. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. Unlike the sister hotel next door, the front desk here is staffed with courteous and attentive personnel. Since we arrived before the official check-in time, we left our luggage with the staff and went shopping. Upon returning, our suitcases—and another one delivered by Yamato Transport—had already been brought up to our room, which was a very nice touch. We stayed in a Deluxe King River View room. It was spacious, with a large and comfortable bed, a generous washroom featuring a deep bathtub, and a long sofa by the window that was perfect for relaxing or having a quick meal. The air conditioning was quiet and efficient, and the overall room design felt modern yet cozy. The wardrobe wasn’t particularly large but sufficient for coats and travel clothes. We didn’t try the breakfast as we had an early flight at 7 AM, but the convenience store downstairs made it easy to pick up yogurt, fruits, and light snacks. Another charming feature was the aroma pouch-making station in the lobby, where guests can choose from several fragrances — it’s a small but thoughtful detail and a lovely souvenir idea. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient, especially for travellers catching early flights — it took only about 10 minutes to reach our airline’s check-in counter after checking out. The hotel also provides easy access to Tokyo’s major shopping areas like Shibuya and Tokyo Station. We’ll certainly be back on our next visit to Haneda!

SShiina_hFacilities: Very luxurious, with all the necessary amenities like an ice machine and laundry room. The items in the hotel room were relatively new, and the room itself was quite spacious for Tokyo standards. A special shout-out to the standby video background music on the hotel TV – it was truly lovely. Hygiene: Very clean, standard five-star hotel management. Environment: Located near Tokyo Bay, a bit far from the city center but very close to Disney, so there are pros and cons. It's very quiet at night with hardly any traffic, though the commute time is a bit long (about 50 minutes to Shinjuku). Service: Also standard five-star hotel service. (A quick tip here: if you're going out during the day and need hotel staff to replenish room consumables, you'll need to flip the electronic switch by the door – I learned this the hard way!)

GGuanaidengdengchengzhangxiehuihuichangFacilities: The room size is quite generous. There's a spacious hallway upon entering, so even with our two large suitcases and a stroller, it didn't feel cramped. The toilet and washbasin are in separate areas, and in addition to a shower, there's also a bathtub. The room is well-equipped with a hairdryer, refrigerator, kettle, and air purifier. The dedicated floor has a microwave, ice maker, coin-operated washer and dryer, and a 24-hour gym. Plus, there are complimentary snacks and drinks available on the 10th floor, making it incredibly convenient and excellent value for money. Environment: It's very close to Senso-ji Temple, and there's an OK Supermarket right across from the hotel, where prices are about half of what you'd find at a convenience store. There are tons of dining options nearby, and it's super close to Senso-ji Temple. For getting around, you can take the TX Tsukuba Line two stops to Akihabara and then transfer to the Yamanote Line to reach major shopping districts. Alternatively, you can walk a bit further to Tawaramachi Station for the Ginza Line. The main hotel building, right across the street, offers Limousine Bus service to Haneda and Narita airports. However, the schedule isn't very frequent, and the Haneda route isn't direct, stopping at a few other hotels, which makes the journey longer than taking the Asakusa Line. The upside is you don't have to drag your luggage all the way to Asakusa subway station.

LluciferchengThe hotel is conveniently located near JR Shinjuku Station, right by the Metropolitan Government Building. The lobby is on the second floor, and the hotel itself is split into two buildings. You can enjoy a light show from your room at night. The room was quite spacious, though the bathroom facilities looked a bit dated. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Kabukicho. This is an older, established 5-star hotel.

MMitangshanzhaOn my first day, I thought the transportation would be inconvenient, but while exploring for a convenience store, I discovered Shinanomachi Station was just a 6-7 minute walk away. It has a Starbucks, supermarket, and restaurants, which was incredibly convenient. We stayed in a triple room with a super spacious balcony. While the room itself was a bit cramped, the shower and the onsen on the 2nd floor were quite good. Turning left from the hotel's main entrance, you'll find the A1 exit of Kokuritsu-Kyogijo Station on the Toei Oedo Line. Across the street, the A2 exit of the stadium has an elevator 🛗, which is great if you have luggage. From this station, it's only two stops on the Oedo Line to Shinjuku, where you'll exit right by Keio Department Store and Yodobashi Camera. At Shinjuku Station, you can transfer to the Yamanote Line to easily reach Harajuku, Shibuya, and various other landmarks. The Yamanote Shinjuku exit also connects to shopping centers like Lumine, NEWoMan, and Takashimaya. In short, it's extremely convenient, a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. The hotel's breakfast was excellent, and I would definitely choose this hotel again. The staff were also very polite, and registering as a Mitsui member allowed for a late checkout until 12 PM. Besides the large public bath, the 2nd floor also has vending machines, a microwave, and a laundry room. The Mitsui chain is quite convenient, perfect for those who love shopping in Shinjuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Oh, and to get to Haneda Airport, you can take the Oedo Line for two stops and then transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line. Check the schedule for the Haneda Express, and you can take it directly to Haneda Airport without transferring at Sengakuji.

GGuest UserThis is an older hotel, but it's really close to Ikebukuro Station, which makes getting around super convenient. Every staff member was so welcoming and the breakfast was good too. The cherry blossom trees both in front and behind the hotel were absolutely beautiful.

Sshadow_zhuI chose La Vista next to Tokyo Bay, having previously stayed at their Hakodate location and been thoroughly impressed by their breakfast. After comparing hotels within central Tokyo, I decided this was the place. The breakfast didn't disappoint, and the service and facilities were also great. Oh, and they offer free ramen from 10 PM! While it's a bit far out – about a 30-minute bus ride to Ginza and at least an hour to other areas by subway – there's a subway station right outside the door, so it's fine if you're not in a hurry. The room size was standard, and there's a hot spring on the top floor where you can see both the Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower. Soaking in the onsen while watching the sunset was amazing.

CCleav3rI've always been a loyal fan of Ascott, but the Ascott Tokyo really left me speechless. Upon check-in, we were informed that the entire building would have a power outage on our last day, meaning all guests had to vacate their rooms before noon. What's more, luggage storage wasn't allowed, so we had to drag our five suitcases ourselves to the JR Tokyo Station, about a 10-minute walk away, and pay 5000 yen to store them. The hotel offered no compensation or even assistance with transporting the luggage to the station. Even more outrageous, the power went out twice in the middle of the night that day, causing the washing machine to stop mid-cycle and forcing us to rewash a whole load of clothes. Additionally, the power outage was announced to start at noon, but breakfast wasn't served at all that morning. At check-in, the front desk staff had us register for a new ASR membership and gave us breakfast vouchers, promising they could be used any day, yet when we tried to use them, breakfast wasn't available? What a joke. Please note, we were only informed of this entire power outage incident upon check-in. Why wasn't this communicated in advance? A power outage affecting the entire building is a major event, and the hotel must have known about it well in advance. If we had been notified earlier, we would have had time to choose another hotel. Instead, the hotel's complete inaction left us with no other options upon arrival. This is completely unacceptable in Japan, a country known for its excellent customer service!
