IIvan GerasimenkoExcellent cozy hotel a bit outside the city. The rooms are large and have a veranda access. There's even a cat! Breakfast is traditional. Each room has a toilet, but the bathroom is shared, with separate facilities for men and women.

润润麒瑞The hotel service was good. It was raining heavily on the day. I arrived at the hotel in advance. The front desk clerk handed a new towel and let me enter the room in advance. Because there are very few tourists in Hachijojima, the hotel generally does not operate catering, no breakfast is provided, and sleep is Tatami, there are many sets of mattresses available in the closet, adults are bored, not suitable for taking children to play, if you need meals, you need to make an appointment in advance, the hotel environment is good, although the price is the most expensive, but worth it, recently from the airport, due to Hachijojima public transportation is inconvenient, business is not developed, and food and beverage outlets are often not open. Self-contained food is a must. Foreigners are not recommended to go to Hachijojima for sightseeing. Air tickets cannot be changed. The hotel can’t be unsubscribed. When I meet locals and tourists, I feel trapped and die. I also need to spend money to travel. I should choose Okinawa. The trip to Hachijojima is the biggest decision-making mistake I have chosen in my life.

BBillylai12There is also a shuttle bus back and forth. Even if the hotel people don’t understand foreign languages, they try their best to communicate with me in translation. I am very satisfied.

GGuest UserI stayed at Beautiful Kamiya Resort for two nights. Location location location! At Mitake station there are lockers to store luggage. They fit a carry on for sure but maybe even a large suitcase. 500 yen for up to three days. I was outdoors the majority of the time but was at ease knowing a comfortable warm bed and hot bath awaits me. The kitchen is very basic but good for simple meals. Electric cook top, microwave, hot water pot, refrigerator etc. The bad tub is almost as large as a car. Separate toilet and tub areas. Lots of power outlets throughout. Plenty of hot water and clean towels. There is some traffic noise but not a big deal at least for me. This area is absolutely beautiful. Mountains, trees, river, friendly shop keepers and amazing hiking. It rained everyday except my last day of course. It was not really a rain but more like a Seattle mist. I was able to hike the entire main loop but did not peak Mt Otake as I did not have the correct footwear. There is a bus from 30 yards south of the Mitake train station that departs to the Mt Mitake cable car. The entire day round trip is about 1200 yen but honestly I did not keep track down to the penny. I had the most delicious cold udon dish ever at the Small village about 1/2 mile hike above the cable car station. They used local mountain vegetables. My first time ever to taste wild Miatake mushroom tempura. I was in heaven! Cons: no convenience stores in the area however there is a small store between the public train station restrooms and the train station. Lights from the street and nearby buildings come through some windows but there is a window shuttle that can be closed. It's 5-7 minutes walk to and from the Mitake train station. Having a car would be more convenient. I did not try any taxi service so I'm not sure if there is the option.
