"Avoid the breakfast. Don't waste your money. Take a room without breakfast and save yourself 25 Canadian dollars per day. Without question worst quality breakfast I have ever had anywhere in Japan in the 8 years I have been traveling in Japan. The restaurant is leased and it's quite evident that the owners cut costs wherever they can. If you like fat, carbohydrates, powdered juices, canned fruit cocktail, warm yogurt, sugary cereals, greasy deep fried food you'll be in heaven. Otherwise skip this place you can do so much better spending your $25 outside of this hotel. I won't get into the details of how management handled this situation but suffice it to say that my complaints basically fell on deaf ears because they believed the restaurant over what was very obvious. The only fresh fruit they offer are cut up orange slices and cut up grapefruit slices. The unsanitary uncooled yogurt bowl is just foul. Just think how many hands touch that ladle and the fact that it's not being kept cool is shocking. Why they don't have small individual containers and a fridge to store them in is beyond me. While the hotel is clean and the service from the front desk staff very very good the rooms are incredibly small even for Japan. I ordered a double room for a single person. It was supposed to be a full-sized double bed. Well I had to sleep diagonally and I'm 6 ft 1 in. The mattress was old and soft and I have had back pain every single day. Typically in Japan you'll find hard beds much better quality than these beds. I will say the Onsen on the second floor was very nice to have and use each morning and each evening after a long day. The water temperature is very hot so it's something you'll have to get used to. It seems tattoos are accepted in this Onsen because I saw several guys that had tattoos and they told me it wasn't an issue which is quite unusual once again for Japan. There is only cleaning of the room every 3 days but they do provide you fresh towels each day. The towels are hung on your door in a plastic bag. Check out is very early at 10:00 a.m. and they don't allow for any flexibility unless you pay about $20 per hour which is crazy. They do have storage facilities for your luggage during the day and the staff are very helpful. The location is poor. There are very few restaurants in the area and the ones that are are just not quality restaurants. I've stayed in Tokyo a dozen times and this was my least favorite location and least favorite hotel for a number of reasons but especially the room size. I can live with a small room but these rooms are so crowded you can't even move. I couldn't imagine having two people in the room. APA hotels are usually quite good and reasonably priced but the big fail here is the quality and size of the beds and the leased restaurant. The food is a big fail for APA Hotel standards but that's a consistency issue that needs to be addressed by top management between all their hotels. There's lots of better hotels in the same price range and better location bigger rooms better quality everything. It would be the last Hotel I'd return to in Tokyo."

GGuest UserI come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

LLianNullOverall, it was a very good stay, except that there were no rooms available when I checked in, and I had to wait for a very long time. Everything else, from the facilities to the service, was excellent. The hotel has direct access to the shopping mall, and the spa is one of the largest in all of Tokyo. The gym also has a lot of equipment, including free weights and a Smith machine, which made for a great experience.

UUtkarsh05This was my first time staying at The Peninsula Tokyo, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we began corresponding with the hotel before arrival, the team made it clear that this was going to be a special stay. I had reached out in advance as this was an important trip for our family, and the team – especially Ms. Kim – went above and beyond to help organise everything smoothly. Every detail was handled with care, and it really set the tone for our visit. Throughout our stay, every interaction made us feel genuinely welcome. The lobby team, the staff at Peter, and housekeeping were all consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Small gestures, friendly smiles, and a real willingness to help turned a simple hotel stay into a collection of memories we will cherish for a long time. This trip has made The Peninsula Tokyo our new fav stay in the city. There is a wonderful sense of warmth and hospitality here, and you feel that everyone is truly invested in making your stay as special as possible. We are already looking forward to returning on our next visit to Tokyo.

GGuest UserDuring this trip, I experienced two different room types at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba: a regular Executive Room and a Premier Rainbow Bridge side room. The Executive room allowed for a separate, convenient check-in area. The afternoon tea and dinner were quite simple but sufficient to tie me over. I later found out that the Fujiya peach soda in the lounge is a popular, hard-to-find drink. I really enjoyed it and recommend everyone try it. Regarding the size, facilities, and view of the rooms, the Rainbow Bridge side is significantly better. The room is larger, the bed is bigger, and the desk is spacious, perfect for working or doing makeup. It feels like every design detail was thoughtfully considered, and the hotel is very well-maintained, new, and clean – excellent! The location is convenient for taking the bus to the airport. Getting to Disneyland requires a few transfers, but a taxi takes only 20 minutes, which is quite fast. There are also many shopping malls nearby, but I couldn't find the supermarket that others mentioned in the reviews downstairs; I found the supermarket quite far. If you plan to have a late-night snack, I recommend buying it in advance. Overall, it's still very good. The location, value for money, and all other aspects are excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.

GGuest UserWe love our stay ! Service is top notched, in a quiet and peaceful environment. We booked the basic apartment n they still managed to give us a nice apt with palace garden views :)) If there was anything we need for a longer stay …. It would be a bigger wardrobe for convenience ! We will be back :)

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is great, quite close to the subway station, and it's convenient to walk to Ginza. In my opinion, the one major drawback is that the staff's English proficiency is absolutely terrible! On both occasions I've stayed here, the front desk staff could barely speak English during check-in, requiring a translation device, which wasted a lot of time and effort. Even more ridiculous, when I called from my room to request an extra pillow, the staff member who answered couldn't understand English. We repeated the English word for ”pillow” at least ten times, and even spelled out the letters one by one, but it was still useless – we simply couldn't communicate. Overall, the hotel has a good location and the rooms are generally decent, but the English level of the staff is genuinely the worst I've encountered in any Japanese hotel.

GGuest UserThis hotel is super convenient, right by the Odaiba metro station – you can see it as soon as you exit! It was really easy to get to my exhibition, just a few stops away. The room was spacious enough, and for Tokyo, you get great value for your money at this price point. Plus, there's a mall nearby, so dining options are plentiful. They even have an airport bus service that you can book online, which is a big plus.

GGuest UserThis is a great hotel! I stayed for six consecutive days and really enjoyed it. It's super convenient to get everywhere, with plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options nearby. There were a lot of guests from Western countries. The breakfast spread was very rich, and the hotel has its own restaurant, so food and drinks were never an issue. Plus, the service was excellent. Housekeeping was always prompt, and the hotel even offers a free shuttle service, which was a huge bonus!

LlymaRoom and bed were very comfortable, immaculately clean and modern. 2 mins walk from train station, if you need lift access to train then a 6 mins walk, we had a stroller. Breakfast was a bit of a zoo, we went during Christmas, very busy! But tables were spacious so even though there were so many people you don’t feel cramped. Good variety of food selection. We had dinner at the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. Delicious, especially the tuna salad. I found the lobby staff a little lack of personality, at check in, no mentioning of where breakfast will be, what time check out is. Just checked you in and that’s it, no personal notes in the room. When I expressed I’ve lost my phone at the shop in Tokyo, no sign of empathy (it was a western male staff) no gesture of helpfulness, very cold and robotic. This goes for concierge also, he is an older western gentleman, he needs to use Google translate also which is frustrating cause I could do exactly the same research with Google translate. Overall, hardware is solid, need to fine tune the staff, sprinkle a little bit of personality in them.

LLazgolfWe booked Park Hyatt very last minute due to issue with our original hotel that we booked in Tokyo. We travelled with a 3 & 4 years old and the hotel was amazing. The playground across the hotel is a big plus. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome and the process was very seamlessly. We left the first hotel fairly early and knew we couldn't get into the room but our plan was to go through Shinjuku and knew we wouldn't be back until later that day. The hotel lobby is on the 41st floor, you can see the entire city view and at night the sight is amazing. The hotel location is about a 15min walk to Shinjuku station which is not bad and there is a shuttle that runs every 30min as well. Concierge was very helpful with everything during our stay. Breakfast service was professional and efficient. The staff were very friendly with kids and not snobbish at all. The hotel is an iconic place, most of the time we took a taxi or delivery they know the hotel by name. I highly recommend anyone that would like to pamper themselves in Tokyo. The hotel is a bit dated by the upkeep of the hotel is very good. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the light switches since it's not modern you can't control some lights individually.
