"Just read another recent review and it could well have been written by me.... We stayed here en route to the Alps. Only a one night stay in a Junior Suite with access to the walled garden. What a fabulous place. Tucked away seemingly in the middle of nowhere it is quite a find. Lovely welcome drink by the fire in the lounge, great spacious comfortable suite and then the dinner which was quite frankly superb. Great service and great food. Two other couples we spoke to were on return trips and i can see why. Highly recommended."

"This chambre d’Hotes/gites is on a former farm right next to a chateau. It’s run by Oliver, who was really helpful especially to OH desperate to watch an Arsenal game, and his son Hugo who cooks lovely suppers for those staying, on request. We thought chicken and mushroom in a cream sauce with rice followed by a delectable, home-made fruit tart with a glass of wine for €25 each was a good deal. Breakfast included very fresh patisserie, yoghurts, fresh fruit and cheese and good coffee. The rooms are large, well-equipped and clean. The pool is tiny (but it exists which is not that common.) The place feels a little like a work in progress but has operated for twenty years and is one of the very best chambres d’Hotes we have visited. Its very well situated for Laon and Chunnel crossings."

"HHONTEUX !! NO COMPATIBLE !!!! I put the minimum note because I can not put less not for the quality of the service but rather for the lack of compatible of these people. We had to make a small periphery in three different places for our 10 years of marriage, and unfortunately we had to cancel it because my husband's grandmother died suddenly in Portugal and he had to leave for the gifts. The other 2 reservations have been cancelled for the first without charge and delayed the date for the next to not lose the forecast. He said that any cancellation was lost and that the payment was lost. He didn't want to delay the date unless he arrived to relocate it between time and keeping us aware only of the morning of the booking. He just told us he had already had too many cancellations for weather or other bidden reasons and that he had mouths to feed so he will not make the refund or delay as well. He asked us for 1 death certificate I don't know why because he doesn't refund but Sil had wanted to refund or change date I would have provided him with even the air tickets proving the authenticity of this sudden event. He has republished 1 post on Facebook marking promo follow cancellation and we lose the amount of the night ... 399 euros yet and a 250e guarantee that remains blocked while we didn't go. I was very disappointed because to book for account he had well wanted to block the next !!! Maybe I should have asked my grandmother to delay her death, I think she would in any case have accepted."

"An excellent first night of our holiday. Ric and Fer are delightful and the accommodation is perfect. Comfortable bed, interesting decoration (wonderful photos), good WiFi and a very good breakfast. The walk around the walls of the chateau was a great bonus. I highly recommend this B and B."

"Very poor experience. No staff, rooms worn out, breakfast due to layout of food, coffee machine became something you best not bother with. Drinks prices at the bar dependant on who served you. Evening dinner, one choice and this menu not available until 5.30pm . We booked here with friends for a 3 day event and will be back in Laon next year but definitely not this hotel."

"The grounds are lovely and tranquil, BUT the restaurant is most definitely not as advertised. It is not gastronomic, and that was why we booked there. At best, it is a limited but good bistro food - but absolutely not gastronomic - neither the food nor the service ! There is no one at reception till the afternoon."
