"The room was for 4 people but separated despite all this will leave the autonomy of parents and children, each on his side. The room is clean and equipped with a very nice climate during the period of canic or canic end, and it is a pleasant, but a pleasant, but practical, but a little small. The breakfast is €14 for the big children but it doesn't deserve them. The restaurant, a little cheap and a little bof bof, was good but no more. The beef tartar was good but no more, too big pieces of caprins ... as regards fish & chips ... it was not good at all ... but good depends on the taste you will tell me. So the thing that really marked us is the mosquitoes that stealed incessantly around us attracted by the outer light and the black spots in the plastic pale that we had with the apero. So I have nothing against the reusable, but then it's a minimum. Afterwards I can hear it's not always easy to clean this kind of objects but in this case we put the cardboard and the case is resolved. In short, I'm not sure to go back there. Sleep why not, but eat I don't think."

"Moulin Renaudiots is a very stylish and beautifully renovated property. The owner is very friendly and rightly proud of her masterpiece. Our suite was impeccably clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. We were especially impressed by the brilliant renovation and interior design features. There is safe and secure parking available on site. My wife and I really enjoyed walking around and exploring the beautiful park-like gardens which include a magical wooden bridge over a lovely stream. This was a wonderful experience in every way."

"Why put 160 bedding in a tiny bedroom? Result: impossible to move around, to use THE chair stuck between the desk and the bed. Obviously, given the cramped conditions, no 2nd seat for a room for 2 people. Likewise, only one power outlet in the bedroom and none in the bathroom, worthy of a bathroom on a boat. So don't consider using an electric razor or hair dryer. Fortunately the bedding was good, the parking lot at the foot of the hotel was not closed, and the young man at reception did a lot to help residents, which helped avoid the "mediocre" rating."

"The hotelier sent me a message 4 days before the start of the stay saying that he had to relocate us and gave me a telephone number to contact, without specifying the name of the hotel or the address of the new accommodation. I called the number in question, the person told me that the hotelier was used to doing this (taking overbookings) and told me where they were located, about twenty minutes from Autun. Too far from what we wanted... The date to cancel the reservation for free had already passed, so I contacted the hotelier so that he could proceed with the cancellation so that I could receive confirmation of the cancellation from the booking platform. He told me that it was up to me to do what was necessary, which I refused. In short, the tone rose, the manager ended our conversation. I understand the Tripadvisor ratings: 56% of reviews "horrible" and 23% "poor". I haven't tried the hotel but in my opinion it's better to move on. The manager is unpleasant and is clearly not cut out for this profession."

"This was by far the worst place we stayed in our entire 3 weeks in France - because of the fact that the managers were not only unresponsive to our inquiries, but absolutely rude in the way that they finally did respond. (I speak French fluently so I know exactly what was said.) I know that most French hotels do not have AC but I specifically only reserved hotels with AC because I have diabetes. When we entered our room, the thermostat read 28°C = 82.4°F !!! So we set the thermostat to its lowest setting and went to dinner. When we came back 2 hours later, the room was still 82.4°! Obviously the AC had not come on. I called the front desk. The manager came up and looked at the thermostat. She told us that it looked like the AC was not working. I asked if she at least had a fan we could use. She said she would look for one. I waited 2 hours for her to get back to me. She never called nor came back to the room! We opened the windows but there was no air flow, and with the bright street lights shining in, it was nearly impossible to get to sleep. From 11:30 pm to midnight, I tried to contact any managers, with no response. Then I started emailing. Eventually, I got a very rude email back from the manager telling me that I should have been understanding that a technical problem could arise, that all I had to do was open the windows because the temperature outside was 10°C / 50 °F. (Our thermostat read 24°C / 75.2 °F!) He continued with: "Votre incompréhension devant ce problème est vraiment étonnant, et devant votre hystérie nous aurons beaux nous excuser, vous offrir une prestation cela a du mal à vous calmer je pense...." This translates to "Your incomprehension in the face of this problem is truly astonishing, and in the face of your hysteria it's all very well for us to apologize, offer you a service, but I don't think that will calm you down." He called me "hysterical" for trying to get answers about a problem he did not tell us about. Unacceptable and insulting."

"We were on a road trip in France a few weeks ago. Several months before leaving, we booked one night in Maison Sainte-Barbe because we wanted to see Autun. We communicated with the hotel a few times about our arrival, so they were quite aware of our booking. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 5:30pm after a long day of travel, tired and ready to relax a bit before dinner. But something looked off...the hotel looked completely closed. No one answered the door. We texted. No reply. Well, we thought, certainly someone will be here shortly. So we waited about 30 minutes and started to get concerned...were we being ghosted? It was getting dark and we thought we had better try to find another hotel asap, lest we end up sleeping in the car. We texted Maison Sainte-Barbe several times over the next hour while we drove in circles around Autun trying to get cell service so we could locate another hotel with an available room, but there are not many hotels in Autun. We found some addresses listed in town, or just outside, but because there was no cell service, we had to drive to each of them, just to find them closed as well. (It was Armistice Day in France and many businesses were closed that day. We were not sure if this included hotels.) We eventually determined we had to leave town in order to find a hotel, and ended up in Beaune, an hour away, at a hotel way out of our price range because it was nearing 9pm and we were desperate. The hotel was way outside of town so our only dinner option was the restaurant in the hotel. They were close to closing, so they offered to prepare something and bring it to our room. The menu was insanely expensive, so we only ordered two appetizers (which were tiny) and that was our dinner that night. (We discovered a €20 room service charge the next day.) We went to bed hungry and completely stressed out. Our hotel bill plus appetizers was €320 We had the option of returning to Autun the next day to see the town, but we could not backtrack two hours, and sadly, we missed seeing the town altogether. Later the next morning, Maison Sainte-Barbe finally responded to our texts from the night before. They said something to the effect of "we had to go to Dijon for an emergency and we forgot to tell you. Sorry! Hope you found another hotel." It was such a callous reply after all we had been through. Did they think it would be easy for us to find another hotel? We wanted them to know it wasn't, so we wrote back and related the story above. They never sent a response. They apparently don't care much about their clientele. We implore people to seriously reconsider before booking this hotel."
