Viajero Bacalar Hostel
"I'm hosted here and the attention is very good. I'm helping with everything in recommendations to go to dinner, breakfast activities to do. I would certainly return 🤠"
Hotel Amainah Bacalar Adults Only
"The service and food were delicious. Great location."
The Yak Lake House - Hostal
"Amazing staff. Shoutout to Abril y Omar. They helped me out on my birthday and gave me a drink. They were very kind and friendly to my friends behind the bar."
Hotel Lydna Ki'n
"Unlike other similarly priced hotels in Bacalar, this one offers a simple breakfast – coffee (delicious, I might add), fresh fruit (very welcome when traveling), toast, and jam. The rooms are exactly as described. The staff are great, very helpful. Excellent value for money."
BoaBoa Bacalar
Cristalino Lagoon Front Hotel, Restaurant & Spa
"An excellent hotel in every way; from the moment you arrive, they pamper you. The service is very attentive, and they're always on hand to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay more enjoyable. The location is great, away from the hustle and bustle yet close to the city center. The hotel restaurant, like everything else, is perfect. In short, I highly recommend spending several nights here. I almost forgot, the kayak and paddleboard are included! That was the perfect finishing touch to my perfect stay."
Asilé Hotel Boutique
"Light, friendly room. Calm and still in the centre.. Top terrace for everyone. The birds of the evening at darkness are a great natural experience. But the hit is that you get a Day Pass daily for Mayan Playa. Paradise on Earth. With Uber to about 65 Mex. With taxi return 100 Mex. you feel like on the Maldives❤️"
Hotel Maria Maria
"This place is adorable .. the upper balconies have a nice view of the terrace and part of the lagoon. The host/owner is really kind and makes you a complementary breakfast each morning. This place is half a block up from the lagoon’s free public dock and a couple blocks from the city center which comes alive at night! We wandered all over the area and would choose this place again in a heartbeat!"
Our Habitas Bacalar - Adults Only
"This hotel is a dream in the jungle! with direct views to the Laguna and a lot of classes like gong bath, yoga, I love it, service and food was amazing too"

Hotel & Suites Oasis Bacalar
"Great and friendly staff at this location made out stay memorablr in Bacalar. We arrived by ADO bus Bacalar. We took a taxi for 50 pesos to the hotel. We were greeted by Mario and check in was smooth. We had the bamboo apartment next to the pool. The suite was spacious and clean. It had a good kitchen with utensils. They provide water, coffee, sugar and cooking oil. Mario booked a pantoon tour and we relaxed in the clean and good size pool. We walked next door to eat some yummy tacos at Mr Tacon which was good and cheap. We went dancing to the Catrina which was walking distance. We did not have a car so we took taxis. They were decently prized. We went to Xul-Ha for a day trip. We only spent a couple of days and walked everywhere. Marco and Steven were also very help and friendly. If we return to Bacalar we would definitely stay here."
Casa Delia Hotel Downtown
"Our stay at the hotel was just perfect! The accomodation is very centrally located in Bacalar so you can just walk there if you arrive by bus. Also the city centre/main square are easily reachable by foot. The rooms were very clean and we felt very good at the hang-out area with the pool. As our bus for our next stop left late in the night they let us leave our luggage at the hotel until the evening and we were even able to spend some more time at the complex. All in all a 100% recommendation!"
Hotel Makech
Hotel Carolina Bacalar
"The scenery is beautiful, and everything is great."
Agam Hotel
"The hotel is very nice to put a but it's the TV that loses signal and the shower overall sweeps all perfectly I recommend it 100x100"
Boca de Agua Bacalar
"This hotel is an architectural masterpiece and absolutely stunning. They are also one of the few hotels that didn’t destroy the vital mangroves protecting the lagoon (and it’s beautiful color). Needless to say that the lagoon is an absolute stunner. The service/management, however, is not worthy 5 stars and also not a Michelin key. We were very disappointed. A few things to note before you book this place: - very inconsistent service: for example, we never received a WhatsApp with all the info/tours, only after asking for it again. - very poor planing of tours (we booked a sailing trip … the first day it took them 2 hours of “confirmation” to end up telling us it’s not possible. We then booked for the next day and the tour started about 1 hour late, again, us just “waiting” and wasting our precious holiday time. No “sorry” whatsoever from the hotel. - the tour was supposed to include “sunscreen” (mentioned in PDF flyer). When the guide arrived (a very nice and competent local guide), she told us that sun screen is not available and anyway is heavily damaging the lagoon and should be avoided - feels like something a) the hotel should advocate and b) not sell as part of their tours - waiters service also very inconsistent. Some friendly, some couldn’t even say “hello” - food also very inconsistent (and expensive). Pasta à la mantequilla was a nightmare, while the hamburger was delicious. - on the day of NYE we proactively asked about a table in the restaurant only for the staff to tell us that we can only have dinner there if we buy the NYE menu for 4500 MXN per person ( that’s around 215 EUR pP ). The hotel is very remote (which is why we booked it of course), so the next restaurant is 20 minutes away. They never proactively mentioned this (all they did was inform that there will be a NYe dinner) Overall, too many little things that went wrong to make this stay enjoyable."
Tierra Maya Hotel Spa & Sanctuary
"Hotel was overall decent. However, in a Few occasions when we asked to have the room clean , food was left in the room. We also had a scorpion in our shower which made it very scary to shower after."
Blue Palm Bacalar
Casa Zazil
"stayed here for 2 nights. very helpful ladies that owns it. They helped booked our tour on the lake. Clean rooms ond good breakfast. you can choose different every day. nice little pateo in the middle where have your breakfast. a little walk downtown but we found very nice restaurants just around the corner. Absolutly recommend to stay here."
Casa Aakal Lagoon Front
"Extremely overpriced for what they provide, hotel pictures show it better than what it really is. Hotel is 25 minutes walk away from the centre. The hotel is ship containers built as hotel rooms which are much smaller than in the pictures. The walls have no insulation so you can hear everything from surrounding rooms at all times. Staff does not speak english but can be helpful with google translate. Breakfast is very poor, cornflakes filter coffee and ham and cheese sandwiches, there is a nespresso coffee machine but that is not included in the breakfast you paid for. The water shown in the pictures is very shallow and you can barely swim there. Renting a kayak is not included and has an extra charge. 3 star accomodation at best."
Casa Chukum
"We stayed here for eight nights and really enjoyed it. Very clean, comfortable room and the garden around the pool is so relaxing. Owners were so helpful and friendly and would definitely recommend. Lots of different meal alternatives in the surrounding area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
