Cristalino Lagoon Front Hotel, Restaurant & Spa ★★★★★
"Everything was beautiful. Incredible views of the lagoon. The staff is very friendly. The food is pricey but delicious. The drinks are wonderful. Highly recommended. And it's just blocks from many restaurants and the main town center."
The Yak Lake House - Hostal ★★★
"Yak was ok. The location was great, close to town and had a nice outdoor area overlooking the water, and they had some nice activities. However, the dorm and facilities were not adequate to accommodate the number of people in the room. There was one moldy bathroom with limited hot water to accommodate the 8-person dorm, an overflowing trash and hardly any space. They're known for their weekly Wednesday night EDM dance party, so if that's not you're thing and you don't want crazy loud music blasting at you until 2 a.m., pick a difference place or a different day. Furthermore, considering the lagoon is shut down on Wednesdays, the party should be held on TUESDAYS to make it easier for people who want to begin their days early when the lake re-opens on Thursdays."
Our Habitas Bacalar - Adults Only ★★★★
"Careless housekeeping: They change the sheets daily, but one night when I returned, I found they had given me a set stained with blood. The front desk and restaurant service were excellent. The restaurant food was delicious."
Blue Palm Bacalar ★★★
"Even if I try, I can't find a single thing that went wrong with this stay: beautiful property, same goes for the pool and rooms, good location, always available and very kind staff, wonderful and abundant breakfast! I would have loved to stay much longer!"
BoaBoa Bacalar ★★
Viajero Bacalar Hostel
"I'm hosted here and the attention is very good. I'm helping with everything in recommendations to go to dinner, breakfast activities to do. I would certainly return 🤠"
Hotel Carolina Bacalar ★★★
"The hotel is beautiful and located near the city centre, which is very valuable. It is on the edge of the lagun to be able to bath. The staff is served. We did not appreciate that there is no fridge in the room. We are disappointed with the breakfast that is a grilled bread, a fruit board and a omelet."
Hotel Amainah Bacalar Adults Only ★★★
"Amazing food and service, Jesus, Edgar and Luis make oir stay amazing, thank you"
La Galuna Bacalar ★★★

Agam Hotel
"Excellent location, cleaning, good facilities and beautiful place 🩷"
Tropic Bacalar
"Very nice location that faces directly the lagoon. You can rent a kayak or a sup directly with the hotel and visit the surroundings yourself without having to pay the expensive organised tours in the city center. They have a common kitchen you can use any time. They serve the breakfast here (not too fancy but good enough for my needs). The staff is really open, kind, and helpful. I would definitely come back."
Casa Árabe
"I extended and enjoyed my four day stay at the laid back Casa Arabe. Most will go to Bacalar for the lagoon and this place has a great view from the many hangout spots in the garden that is directly to the lagoon. From the dock there are tours on different types of boats, canoes and paddle boards. Could the rooms use a renovation - sure they could (and is apparently planned). But it’s perfectly located for lagoon views and with very friendly staff it makes it made it great value for money in my opinion. Thanks Yousef and especially Shiraz for making my stay very pleasant 🙂"
Hotel Aldea 19 Bacalar
"Good location but very overpriced.Small modern room, tiny bathroom, washbasin in room, no patio,no drawers, wardrobes or cupboards, only 4 hangers on a wall hook.Breakfast ok with basic menu, nice staff."
Hotel Tuparenda
Hotel Lydna Ki'n
"Overall, the hotel was nice and clean. Plus, the service stuff was friendly and open to any questions. The building is brand new, but our room lacked some functionality. Our suggestion would be to add some chairs, so people could put their bags, clothes, or use them on the balcony or with small table built in the wall. More hangers on the wall or a drying rack on the balcony would help, as we had no idea where to dry our towels and swimming suits. Also, having hair dryer would be nice, especially after days of swimming in the lagoon."
Hotel Makech
Azul 36 Hotel
"Nicely located near to the centre of Bacalar and many nice restaurants and beach clubs at arms length. Azul 36 is a nice small hotel with very friendly staff who do their best to make your stay as comfy as possible. There is a pool area which is partly in the shade and a sun roof terrace with lounge corner and tub to cool down. The rooms are modern beach style and the beds are comfortable."
Mia Bacalar Luxury Resort & Spa
"It was an enjoyable trip overall. The only two issues I had was 1. My unit with the jacuzzi had some wear, seems like there was a leak because there’s sealant on all corners throughout the room. 2. The couples massage was nice!! I asked for tension/deep tissue but didn’t get that. It was a bit light and skipped front upper body area."
Hotel Isabella Bacalar Front Lagoon
"We waited 2.5 hours before getting our room because it wasn't check-in time, even though the room was ready. The room smelled terrible due to sewage. Unfortunately, there were only double curtains, so if you opened them, everyone could see you, leaving you in the dark. The staff were not very friendly, except for the young woman at reception. The canoe was great, but the life jackets smelled awful 😩 Breakfast was disappointing because 8:30 am is a bit late. It was happening around the bar, which was very dark, and we had trouble seeing due to the lack of light. We waited 20 minutes for our cocktails, and they weren't very good and were expensive 😩 Fortunately, the location is magnificent, but the staff needs improvement!!!"
Boca de Agua Bacalar
"We booked three nights. On the third day, we were notified via WhatsApp that the water was out, but it came back on at 3:30 PM. We played in the water until 5:00 PM and asked when the water would come back on, and they told us immediately. At 6:00 PM, we asked for a solution and were told we would be moved to a room with water. At 7:30 PM, we were told that there were no rooms with water and we would have to deal with it ourselves."
Hotel Maria Maria
"We stayed here for 1 night as part of a self-drive birding trip around the Yucatan. The hotel occupies a great location, just a block or so from the lake-side and with distant views of the lake from the lovely balcony of our room. The room itself, was nicely finished with wooden doors to the balcony and beside a small kitchen area where drinking water was provided from an efficient pump system. The shower flow was only adequate and the heat a bit temperamental; also the basin tap only produced a trickle of water. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to park in the the hotel's parking area just below our room. Breakfast was good with a range of choices from a menu - fruit, eggs, toast etc. We really enjoyed our short stay here."
Casa Zazil
"stayed here for 2 nights. very helpful ladies that owns it. They helped booked our tour on the lake. Clean rooms ond good breakfast. you can choose different every day. nice little pateo in the middle where have your breakfast. a little walk downtown but we found very nice restaurants just around the corner. Absolutly recommend to stay here."
Hotel Circulo Bacalar
ADE Hotel Bacalar
"This hotel was nice, I had one of the rooms with the terrace out to the front of the hotel. Having now been there I think this was a better room than one of the poolside ones as they were probably noisier. There was a problem with my door lock and this was fixed in a timely manner even thought it was 1st Jan ! I didn’t have breakfast but it looked nice when I saw people as I was checking out. They called a cab for me when I needed it. The oool and seating area looked nicer in real life than the photos which were on **********. This hotels is about. 10 min walk from the main shops/food/tourist area. This suited me but may not suite everyone."
