Palmar Beach Lodge
"We travelled for 3 weeks through Costa Rica and Panamá and Palmar was by far the best location we've ever been to. We stayed for 6 nights in a bungalow at Palmar and had an incredibly good time there. Our bungalow was very clean, comfortable and had a good and quiet AC. The bungalow was perfectly located between jungle and beach, thats why we were able to enjoy the nature and various animals around us. The beach was only 1 minute away and absolutely fantastic! We also booked a tour to Zapatilla Island at the reception and had a great day by seeing dolphins, snorkeling and relaxing at another beautiful beach. The restaurant at Palmar is probably one of the best in the neighborhood. Food and drinks were very delicious and beautifully arranged every time. They were offering enough different dishes from which we tried something new every day. Furthermore there was a happy hour slot between 5 to 7pm where you got 2 drinks for 1. All employees at Palmar were very friendly and nice and gave us a good feeling staying here, especially Lucas, Jimmy & Eduard at the restaurant/bar. Furthermore they had daily changing activities, like bonfire, cocktail classes (with Jimmy), live music, movie nights with popcorn at the beach and sport activities. Fiona, the girl that organized all of them, was super nice and motivated us ever day to join. Actually we don't join hotel activities, but in this case we joined almost all of them and had a really good time here. I definitely recommend staying at Palmar. It's the perfect location to relax, have delicious food & drinks and meet new people!"

Aqui Hoy cabañas
"AQUÍ HOY its an spectacular place on solarte island at Bocas del Toro. The place is beautiful, very well located to go everywhere, peaceful and quiet. Sunrise and sunsets are fantastic. Food and drinks made by KATY (the SOUL of the place) are superb! We were 2 families of friends with 4 kids in total (13,13,11,7 years) so we rented the entire place (4 rooms, 2 each cabin) so the experience was spectacular!. Get in contact with Heiner, the owner, for questions on reservation process was so easy. We definitely will come back again!!! So thanks KATY for being so cool, helpful and kind with the kids, thanks AQUI HOY, thanks BOCAS, SEE YOU SOON!!!!"
The Sea Monkey
"Overwater Bungalow 2 was such an amazing place to stay!! The beds were comfortable and clean, the deck and hammock were so great to relax on, and Lin was an amazing host!! Would definitely recommend Sea Monkey to others."
Eclypse de Mar Acqua Lodge
"Breakfast and staff was very good, friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Diner was fine but spring rolls way too greasy. The slats of the door were broken and did not close. This allowed everyone to look inside. That was worthless because the room was at the passage that everyone walked past We had to pay extra for the cocktails even though we were told we'd get two for the price of one, not two of the same. She only mentioned this afterward. It's a shame you only find out about this when you pay. Happy hour isn't explained on the menu."
Akwaba Lodge
"I really wanted to love this place because the property itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are filled with lush trees, and there are birds all around, which makes the environment feel peaceful and relaxing. The owners also provide snorkeling equipment and kayaks, which is a great touch and adds to the experience. However, there were several fundamental issues that made our stay very uncomfortable and disappointing. First, the cabin we booked was advertised as a water/oceanfront view. Unfortunately, the view was completely blocked by palm trees, and the ocean was not visible at all. We essentially paid extra for a view that did not exist. When I reached out to the owners, I was told that another cabin (which actually had the proper ocean view) could not be cleaned in time and was already reserved for the following day. What made this more frustrating was that the cabin was sitting empty at the time, yet no effort was made to prepare it for us. While I understand they mentioned having issues with their washing machine, that should not impact a guest receiving what they specifically paid for—especially when a solution was clearly available. Beyond that, other issues continued throughout our stay: • Towels were only changed once during our 3-night stay, and only two towels were provided. • There is no air conditioning (which I acknowledge I should have noticed beforehand, but worth mentioning for future guests). • The cabins do not have glass windows—only screens—and some of those screens were broken, allowing insects inside. The most concerning issue, and ultimately the reason for this review, was that the cabin was infested with roaches. We encountered roaches in every area of the cabin—on the couch, in the bedroom, on the walls, in the bathroom, and even coming out from under our luggage. At one point, my husband saw one crawling next to him while he was lying on the couch. It was constant and extremely uncomfortable. We attempted to contact ******* to change accommodations, but due to the late hour (around midnight) and the remote location in Bocas del Toro—accessible only by boat—we had no safe or practical option to leave that night. I do want to note that the owners seem like kind people. I saw them helping other guests with transportation and recommendations, and they appeared friendly and well-intentioned. However, when it came to handling our situation, there was a lack of urgency, accountability, and basic customer service. We did not receive an apology for the roach issue, despite them being notified. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share this experience. With better attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and guest service—especially when issues arise—this property has the potential to be truly amazing."
Bambuda Lodge
"It was a real treat staying here! The rooms are nice, staff friendly and the pool was amazing to chill at and watch the view. Go on the free jungle hike that they have. It was a nice activity to do on one of the mornings I was there! There’s also a water slide for the adventurous type!"
Six Pillars Resort
"The perfect escape in paradise! The owner (Robert and his wife Maile) contacted us immediately after booking with helpful instructions, which made us feel very welcome. Upon arrival into Bocas del Toro, Robert’s helpful boat aide (Rodolfo) picked us up and escorted us to the premises with a beautiful ride on the water. We were upgraded free of charge and the villa was absolutely incredible - amazing views, spacious, clean and furnished to a high standard. Robert gave us a guided tour of the grounds and WiFi is strong throughout, then at dinner we were blown away by away with the sublime food in our 3-course meals. I would highly recommend this stay!"
