Beach Hotels in Peniscola

I rarely write reviews of holiday accommodations, but this time I simply couldn't resist sharing my experience. My wife and I traveled to Peñíscola to experience a total solar eclipse, perhaps the only one we will ever witness in our lifetime. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to what we thought would be an ideal observation point: the walls of the Templar castle in Peñíscola. However, the local authorities closed the site to visitors in anticipation of the influx of eclipse enthusiasts, and suddenly I found myself facing a serious problem: the eclipse would take place behind the mountains, below the horizon. And this is where the Owner of the wonderfully charming Hostal Dios Está Bien stepped in. I asked her for help, hoping for some useful local advice. What did I receive instead? An invitation to join her family in watching this extraordinary celestial event while sharing their family dinner! What began as a perfectly normal, albeit exceptionally warm, interaction with the hotel's staff evolved into something truly special. There was a bottle of surprisingly good wine waiting for us upon arrival, friendly conversations every time we met, and, in the end, family stories and photographs shared around the table. Never before have we experienced such openness and kindness, and I truly feel that we have gained new friends. Thank you. We sincerely hope that one day we will have the opportunity to return your extraordinary hospitality. And all of this took place in a small, charming, beautifully maintained hotel, housed in a historic building in the heart of Peñíscola, where delicious homemade breakfasts are served every morning. I wish everyone could have an experience like this.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre. The only stick I would put is that I would say regularly throwing in disturbance, for the rest a good stay with the luxury of being in front of the sea.

The hotel is very comfortable and complete. It is not entirely in the centre but to move through the area is very good. Very complete

The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable, the bathroom was great. The only negative: the pillows. My husband loved them, but I couldn't sleep well because they were too high for me. Considering there's a spare pillow in the closet, I suggest making it lower. The facilities were very good and clean, and most of the staff were very friendly. Buffet: some days the quality was just okay. Otherwise, it was good value for money. I applauded the fresh juice and the natural yogurt, although they could be better. The pastries were good, and the grill could be improved. Suggestion: Mark the drinks you order and save them for dinner, as is done in almost all hotels. That way, we would have ordered bottles of wine, even if only for my partner. In summary: Very good, a solid 8. Suggestions: 1. Lower the spare pillow. 2. Label the drinks for subsequent service. 3. Improve the grill, both in terms of what's being cooked and by always having something cooking so you don't have to wait so long.

The hotel is beyond expectations, the room is clean, the service is meticulous and warm. There is also a small kitchen, you can simply cook by yourself, satisfying my Chinese stomach. In addition, I would like to thank one of the front desk ladies for patiently accompanying us to deal with the parking fine.

The hotel is close to the sea. You can watch the sunrise over the sea from your room. It takes just a few minutes' walk to get to Peniscola Castle. It's so wonderful and refreshing to take a stroll and enjoy gentle sea breeze around the castle. The hotel staff are very patient, conscientious and nice.I will stay there again.

Es la segunda vez que vamos... creo que con eso lo digo todo, y cuando haya una tercera volveremos a ir. 💯 recomendable. Trato, ubicación y calidad!!

Lo que más me gustó, fue la ubicación tan cercana a la playa. También el buffet, muy bueno. La animación para los niños buenísima. No me gustó el precio de la bebida en el buffet, creo que es bastante cara y tampoco me gustó el tamaño de la piscina, es demasiado pequeña y está muy saturada.

It’s actually very good and with walking distance to the castle and the beach. Nearby there’s parking and massive supermarket. Loads of restaurants so I just think it’s very convenient and great.
