One O Eight Boutique Hotel ★★★★

"My wife and I had one night in Johannesburg, arriving late afternoon and leaving mid morning, so we wanted a place near the airport. One O Eight was a fantastic discovery. It is situated immediately across the road from the beautiful Korsman bird sanctuary. We staye in the Goliath Heron room overlooking the sanctuary. We had time to walk around the lake in the evening at sunset and again in the morning at sunrise. Spectacular. While the hotel itself is exceptionally comfortable and well-appointed, it was the staff that really really elevated our experience. I must apologize for forgetting names, but the reception, the chef, all the staff who looked after us were so gracious, warm and helpful. I hope the owners recognize this. An heartfelt thank you to all. We were provided a very tasty dinner on the common balcony overlooking the lake and again in the morning a very tasty breakfast, whipped up from scratch in front of us. I would highly recommend this special place for anyone travelling through Johannesburg or indeed wanting a peaceful place to spend some time."

"The place it's lacking the touch of Sun1 as we used to the other places in South Africa. Booked on the 23-24 but l am very unhappy. Aircon not working Floor carpets are too old and they need to be replaced. Mosquito too much couldn't sleep properly after paying R695.65 ."

"There was a noisy family in an ajoining room, we could hear every word as if they were in our room. Single door separating us which is not that of a 4* hotel standard. Bathroom sink was stained and filthy. Buffet dinner very limited and basic , nothing exciting"
