"Lovely place with clean rooms & Toilets ..with very friendly & accommodating staff.. which made our short stay very memorable.. Food was good .. they also let you bring your provisions & get it cooked at a small cost.. it’s just that you feel wanted & they let you enjoy yourself with out issues.. There is small pantry fridge in some rooms.."

"The Villa Bentota was just as incredible on our return as it was the first time. Set in a stunning old heritage building, it has the most beautiful grounds and elegantly furnished rooms. With perfect beach access and a virtually private, stunning shoreline, we enjoyed wonderful swims and sunsets. The sea was safe for swimming with the children too which was great. The service was outstanding - friendly, engaging, and personal. We originally chose Villa Bentota as we married at their sister hotel, Kahanda Kanda, and for our anniversary, they went above and beyond. They arranged a beautifully decorated private table, a thoughtful anniversary cake, and even a “Happy Anniversary” message on our bed. The two pools were fantastic, the food exceptional, and housekeeping flawless. It was Sinhalese New Year during our stay, and the staff invited us to the milk boiling ceremony and the lighting of the oil lamp, along with some traditional treats. It was a very special and personal moment that they shared with us which was very special for us. This place holds a special place in our hearts, and it remains a perfect stay. We’d return without hesitation!"

"I booked a room through Agoda and received a confirmation email, so I thought everything was settled. 2 days later, Hotel sent me an email to say that hotel was fully booked and that they could not give me any room. They said the confirmation was generated automatically. What frustrated me most was that when I checked Agoda again for the same booking dates, same booking room category, they were still available. But at a higher price. I, honestly felt like they didn’t want to honor the rate I had booked. I reached out to Agoda for help. Unfortunately, nothing could be done. I had to rush to find another place to stay, which was stressful and inconvenient. Overall, I felt cheated, disappointed and frustrated. A confirmed booking should mean something. I hope the management improves their booking system and honours confirmed reservations. I would advise future guests to be cautious when booking with this property. Ensure confirmation till you arrive at the property."
