Great
GGuest UserWe stayed here during the Nebuta Festival. It's a historic hotel, and while its facilities might be a bit dated, it's impeccably maintained, clean, and comfortable. The room was very spacious, offering ample room for three people.
JJ. SimonLess than 5 mins walk to and from JR Shin-Aomori Station (East exit) which also houses the Aomori Tourist Information Centre.
I chose to stay near this JR Shin-Aomori station instead of JR Aomori station as the shinkansen doesn’t go to JR Aomori station. I need to take the shinkansen early in the morning on the following day to go to Akita and then transfer to the Akita shinkansen to head to my next accommodation in Tazawako.
From JR Shin-Aomori station, it’s convenient to take limited express trains direct to Hirosaki station to visit Hirosaki Castle and Park. It’s also a short journey to JR Aomori station which is where the city centre of Aomori is located.
Other than the F&B shops within Shin-Aomori station which close very early around 8pm if I recall correctly, there aren’t any F&B shops around the hotel.
Both Family Mart and Lawsons convenience stores are located a few mins walk from the South exit of the train station which is located on the other end of the station.
JJeffThis hot spring hotel is located on the top of a mountain. And it takes around an hour of driving up the hill in order to get to the hotel, but the view is completely worth it, the stars at night was so beautiful. The hot spring outdoor was comfy as well. However, the hotel didn’t have elevator, so maybe it’s best that you pack a smaller luggage. The dinner was verrrryyyyyy good and fresh, and the Aomori Apple beer that they had was sooooo goood. The buffet style breakfast offer different kinds of food too from English to Japanese. One thing that we are not a fan of was the blue indoor wear that they offer, as it didn’t look good and look like a massage therapist. Haha
BBarameeA decent hotel opposite the JR railway station and it's close to shops and restaurants. The room is clean and decent, but can feel aged. Air conditioning is not good. There's a lovely onsen on site that can be used with no extra charge, and free breakfast.
LLinqin497The parking lot is very convenient. Hakkoda is also open. I was very lucky. It takes 40 minutes to drive to Hakkoda. The road is also very easy to drive. I highly recommend the large bath. It is a must-go every day to relieve muscle fatigue.
GGuest UserFor less than 1400, supper comes out for supper, breakfast comes out. After breakfast, each person drinks a cup of coffee or tea at the bar. The hot spring is free to soak. It is only 20 minutes away from Aomori by tram. I think it is worth taking a half day alone as a relaxing trip. After all, Aomori is very small. I live in the city for a day to see the House of the Sandman and my favorite punch card. Hoshino, why not try it! It's not easy to find a hot spring street that is not in the old forest in the mountains these days (in fact, the hotels in Asamushi are a bit scattered). Talk about the shortcomings, the hotel welcomes you free of charge, but you need to make an appointment or call after you arrive at Asamushi Station. You do n’t need to worry about Japanese if you are in Japan. Even more trouble. However, you can try your luck. Saturday's pick-ups may be intensive, and we just happened to get in the car. If you go by yourself, it ’s not as easy to find as the other ones. Yu Zhi Tang is next to him, and it ’s not easy to find. On the contrary, those who can see the sea are very eye-catching and easy to find. The room is a bit small, to be honest, but eating well can make up for some regrets.
SszjimmyLocated a 5-minute walk from Aomori Station, the hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and is very close to the Aomori Fish and Vegetable Market. The Aomori City Hall is directly opposite, and there's also a fish market on the basement level of the city hall. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and the service is friendly. It would be even better if the room windows could be opened.
Ddragon0415The location is excellent, just over 300 meters on foot from Aomori Station, right behind the Fish and Vegetable Market (where you can get 12 self-selected seafood bowls for 2000 yen).
I agree with many reviews; the hotel is quite old. It has been around for a while, so there are no USB outlets whatsoever. The room size is decent, allowing enough space to open a suitcase. However, the bathroom is extremely small. How small, you ask? You'll hit your head when standing up from the toilet, and you're bound to bump into something when turning around.
But, my significant other was very satisfied. Even though it's old and the bathroom is tiny, it has a large public bath and its own restaurant. The public bath is also open to the public, with a communal lounge area, manga, and chairs for relaxation, and both indoor and outdoor bathing options. So, the issue with the bathroom is tolerable. The hotel's restaurant operates until 11 PM, and my significant other commented that the food was good and cheaper than outside izakayas, offering a good selection of basics (rice bowls, noodles, steak, sashimi, fried dishes, etc.). Because it has its own restaurant, the breakfast area is also spacious, with apples and apple juice that were delicious.
Overall, I highly recommend it.
YYOSHIKAZUThe front desk staff were very helpful and I had a pleasant stay.
If you plan to use the parking lot next to the hotel, I recommend checking in as early as possible. You can drive your car in and out, but if the original parking space is full when you return, you will have to park a little further away.
I knew this from the start, but the rooms are not very spacious and if you have a large carry-on bag it can be difficult to unfold it.
와와사The location from Hon Hachinohe is reasonable distance on foot. But actually it is center of the city and very convenient to enjoy Hachinohe culture and life. The city art museum is next door and the emperors have stayed this hotel when they visited after East Japan Big Earthquate. To comfort the people and encouragements to rebuild San Riku Region was their main purpose to come and see. Amazing gift was that the paper cranes were prepared on beds to welcome guests. The first experiences during my 35 years' trips across the world. This hotel should be rated by 100 perfect score. The price is also very good!!
