"I had an absolutely delightful stay at Kisoro Comfort Inn and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Kigezi. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome. They were friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable. One of the highlights was the food, the on-site restaurant serves delicious local cuisine freshly prepared and full of natural flavor. "I spent two great nights here. The lodge enjoys a great location on the southern part of Bwindi, a very short distance to the UWA visitor's Centre where you register and get a briefing before you embark your Gorilla trekking experience. Isabel and her team were polite and always eager to help. Special mention to my room Steward Gilbert. A calm, dedicated chap. The rooms at the lodge are quite spacious, i always had a very hot shower (Bwindi can become very cold because of high altitude and the rainforest) and they always provided a hot water bottle at night. The food was nice but become cold so quickly, probably because of the weather."

"From the moment the drum began beating upon our arrival, I knew that Kaara Gorilla Mountain Lodge was a special place. After a quick briefing we were led through a garden to our cottage, Mgahinga, which means a pile of stones. Every night Moses strewed floral messages upon our bedspread, and we awoke to the peeping of small yellow birds. All meals were served in the spacious lodge overlooking the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. They featured delicious local dishes, such as mtoke, and fried lake fish, and the food had enough continental touches to please the children who were present. Before the sun set, members of the community sang and tried to teach us muzungos how to dance. After our successful gorilla trek the next day, we returned to the lodge for another warm greeting, and we watched the sun set while enjoying a bottle of wine and hearing stories about adventures in Africa. We felt so welcomed at Kaara that I got a little choked up when we left."

"Incredible staff! Jackie is one of the kindest persons I've met. Clean and comfortable lodge with delicious food. The road to this lodge is an adventure all by itself, but well worth the trip. Most travelers stay here for the gorilla treks in Bwindi. We stayed almost a week to rest after flying from USA to Uganda. We bird watched, visited the Batwa, enjoyed the local dancers, trekked to the gorillas and relaxed. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, with a lovely view, and the food was delicious. Couldn't ask for more!"

"I went with the University of Connecticut Global Medicine Team. The setting is beautiful with birds awakening us every morning. The breakfasts were superb with fruit, eggs. French toast,native honey, warm rolls coffee and tea. The support from staff was excellent with help in cleaning rooms and laundry. The rooms were spacious and comfortably furnished (mosquito netting for all beds). The Stone House has a library, fireplace, comfortable seating; it is a pleasant gathering place. The gardens are spectacular. For the group of physicians working in the adjacent hospital and nursing school this guest house could not have been better."

"Me and wife stayed at this hotel for 1 night during our trip to Uganda. This hotel, which served as a base to go on the wonderful gorillas trekking in Bwindi is set on a nice forest environment. We were given half a hut (huts here comprise two bedrooms), a fairly large room with a toilet and a balcony, overlooking the “impenetrable forest”. The hotel also has a fairly good WiFi everywhere, which is surprising, given the location. The hotel has a nice restaurant, where we ate dinner and breakfast, preparing for the trekking. The staff was always helpful, which made our stay very comfortable."

"I was a solo traveler, and I felt so comfortable in the lodge. The place itself is absolutely amazing, breathtaking view, staff is kind, professional, friendly, always there to greet with a smile and assist with anything and everything. The food was delicious. :) I had dinner one night, and they made it so special, they arranged flowers, saying good evening in my language. :) Also, in the evening, if you feel cold, they will make a fire in your room, which is so soothing, and they even leave a cute heating pad in your room to sleep comfortably. All in all, really amazing experience, nothing to complain about, and highly recommended."

"This lodge is out of the way up an extremely steep and rocky road (track). Once you are there the view is stunning but we were unable to enjoy it from our deck because we were located next to a building site (a new set of rooms at the lodge) so there were electric power tools in use all afternoon. The rooms are reached via steep and uneven steps (which when we left were slippery from rain and in total darkness). We were overcharged ridiculously for drinks and when we queried the bill, we were fobbed off. The best part of our stay was our housekeeper who was genuinely helpful and went out of his way to take care of us. Unless you are fit and a non-drinker (who likes scary roads that add unnecessary time to each trip), stay elsewhere."
