Village Hotel Manchester Bury ★★★

📍 Waterfold Business Park, Rochdale Rd, Bury

"We stayed at the village hotel last weekend simply as a place to rest up after the gladiators tour. We were greeting by nobody. No presence of staff at all. I get the shift to self serving. I’m a big fan of it, but when people have queries, somebody should be available. We paid £75ish for 4 people in the restaurant. - AVERAGE. Don’t waste your money. Drive over to McDonald’s. The quality of the food is the same. We were early checking in so we asked if we could use the pool with our two young children. Don’t bother. I felt dirtier after getting out than I did going in! Hairs and mud throughout the family changing space. We specifically asked when booking NOT to be placed near a lift. You’re doomed if your put in 103. It’s directly opposite the lift and it’s all we heard late into the night. We opted for breakfast purely for ease with having our children with us. Again, don’t bother. The quality might have possibly being the worse I’ve experienced. Sausages I’m sure that were reheated from the day previous. Hash brown you could build a house with they were that solid and having to ask for bread at breakfast time… away! It’s standard stuff! I have since complained to the hotel and requested a refund for the breakfast add on. Sadly all I’ve received is there auto response advising it will be assigned a case number. 8 days on, it still hasn’t been assigned. I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately which is a shame as I stay regularly with the village hotel for work but I will reconsidering going forward."

Red Hall Hotel ★★★

📍 Manchester Rd, Bury, Walmersley

"Room very tired in desperate need of renovation, broken lamp, lights out, moulded areas bathroom, chipped paint, old fittings, rusty shower fittings not suitable to put toiletries on, walls paper thin very loud from other rooms. Freezing cold room no accessible heating control. Only 1 tea bag and 1 coffee sachet for three days not replenished & no cups washed. Only 1 small round soap for three days. Ran out of toilet paper. Housekeeping extremely poor, bed straightened not made. Bins not emptied in three days. Front reception staff indifferent, appeared uncaring & disinterested."

Best Western Manchester Bury Bolholt Country Park Hotel ★★★
"Perfect for a solo traveler on a retreat or a family looking to spend time away from the busy city. I especially loved the two Italian restaurants I went to not too far from the hotel. Had the best meals there and good price. Day 1 Arrived and settled in, went to the gym then the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The spa and gym faculty was at the back of the hotel more like a separate entity. Went to Verona for Dinner which was about 5 mins from the hotel Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel. Full English nothing special. Later in the evening i went to dinner at another Italian restaurant 2 minutes from the hotel, Rapallo Ristorante The food again was 5/5 apart from the dessert I chose. Day 3 Breakfast again full English 5/5 Overall, I got what I paid for. Quiet, serene countryside staycation. Cons The hotel is abit dated but towels were new, fresh, and the room was clean. I just wished it had more Modern furnitures."
