Candeo Hotels Chino ★★★
"lovely hotel with excellent service. has a beautiful spa. but the shower in the room was a little dirty. the breakfast was wonderful though."
Tateshina Grand Hotel Takinoyu ★★★★
"This was my first time staying here, but the room was clean and nice. I decided after looking at the pictures and reviews. I didn't feel there was much inconsistency in the pictures and reviews on trip."
Shirakabako Hotel Paipuno Kemuri ★★★
"The room smells of cigarettes and kids run around the hallways"
Hütte Jil Shirakabako ★★
"The accommodation was incredibly basic; there was no toilet or bathroom in the room, which was inconvenient. You needed to bring your own towels and toothbrushes. It was clean, and many motorcyclists used it as a rest stop. There was a large kitchen where you could cook, but you couldn't find anywhere to buy ingredients, so it was still inconvenient for tourists."
Resort Hotel Tateshina ★★★
"The food and entertainment were all great. The room felt a little old, but I'll definitely go again next year."
Hotel Wakamizu ★★
"It’s alright! Few restaurants nearby, hotel is good for a stopover!"
SANU 2nd Home Tateshina 1st ★★★★
"It was very good! Since it is in nature, I felt better because there were deer on the way and the scenery was beautiful. Even after checking in on the site, it was easy to enter the password immediately! The room is as shown in the photo. I hope I can use it again ^^"
Tateshina Ai ★★★
"A real Japanese experience in a traditional Japanese Ryokan building with beautiful surroundings. Very polite staff and accommodating to meet all our needs. The standard is very high."
Chino Sky View Hotel ★★★
"I stayed here for a business trip from Tokyo. It's a little far from Chino Station, about a 15-minute walk. The facilities are a little old, and it's not cheap."

Sky Park Hotel
"I stayed here for several nights in early September. Tokyo was experiencing scorching hot days, but this hotel, located at an altitude of nearly 1,500m, had a refreshing plateau feel and was comfortable. The room I stayed in was on the Kurumayama side (parking side) of the prominent Kurumayama Plateau, to the right of the front desk, but there were only a few cars belonging to hotel staff parked in the parking lot, and in the mornings, I would occasionally see guests walking their dogs. On a clear day, the radar dome and Kurumayama Terrace at the top of Kurumayama Plateau were clearly visible. In the lobby, Mt. Tateshina could be viewed from the sofa along with Lake Shirakaba. There were many Nepalese staff members among the hotel staff, and they were happy to greet me with "Namaste" when I entered the restaurant."
Guesthouse Kreutzer
"The owners are very warm and welcoming. Even though I became ill and collapsed, causing them inconvenience, they treated me with such warmth, and I was truly grateful. The food was also delicious. A squirrel came to visit every morning. The amenities were also great. I would love to stay again."
Hotel Harvest Tateshina
Recently, I had the pleasure of taking a short trip to the Tokyu Harvest Club in Tateshina. Located in Nagano Prefecture, Tateshina in November is noticeably chilly, but the crisp, fresh air and beautiful clear skies made it an exceptional experience. It felt incredibly refreshing, lifting my spirits in a way that’s hard to put into words. The Tokyu Harvest Club Tateshina is not only appealing because of its stunning natural surroundings but also thanks to the warm and attentive service provided by the local staff. Their smiles and thoughtful hospitality made the stay even more enjoyable and memorable. The drive from Tokyo to Tateshina was another highlight of the trip. Along the way, we stopped by several local markets, where we picked up fresh vegetables and fruits. These local treats added a special touch to the journey, making the drive even more delightful. Tateshina is a destination that shines year-round, offering unique beauty in every season. However, the crisp November air and the lingering autumn colors make this time of year particularly enchanting. If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting—it’s an experience you won’t forget!"
Tateshina Shinyu Onsen
"The snowy hot spring view was beautiful, and the hotel food was delicious and very healthy, great for digestion. They have private onsen baths that you can reserve for solo use, but you can only book them after check-in. So, I'd recommend arriving a bit earlier to secure a better time slot. We arrived closer to 8 PM, which was a bit late, and all the private baths for that evening were booked. We could only reserve one for the next morning. There's also a public lounge area."
Shikino Yado Subaru
"Reasonably priced, 8,800 yen including two meals. It's not exactly frugal, but the meals are a set course and they serve hot food. The rooms are clean, and there are no trash cans, so you have to take your trash home with you. Above all, it's great that you can use the hot springs 24 hours a day. Make sure to listen carefully to the instructions on how to use the bath. 😆 Amenities include bath towels, which are 300 yen to rent, and face towels and toothbrushes, which you can request and check if they're free. Is it worth it for that price? The owner is friendly."
Little Grebe
"The environment is very beautiful, and you can have breakfast facing the lake view. The store owner is friendly. The only thing is that you have to climb stairs to the second floor room, so it is suitable for light luggage."
Tateshina Park Hotel
"The hotel is good."
Sundance Resort Tateshina
"There are several ski resorts near the hotel, one of which has a children's playground, making it perfect for family road trips."
Daitouen
Sawa Rouge
"There was a slight accident, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. The hot springs were great, the food was delicious, and it was reasonably priced! It was wonderful. The owners were also very kind, which I appreciated. I will definitely stay here again."
Yama No Yado Meiji Onsen
"My GF's review: My stay in Meiji Onsen Ryokan was my first stay at a ryokan, and I’ve never felt more welcome at any other hospitality place I’ve been to before, of which there are many. And even after the first day, I am pretty sure it will probably stay this way forever. I am very grateful for your kind welcome and I am amazed at the work that the team of your hotel does at this place. Everything feels natural and beautiful, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and special. People who work here are passionate about their job, and as a passionate person myself I feel energized and happy to see others be so amused about what they do. I will always remember my first stay here and I will compare other ryokans I go to with Meiji Onsen Ryokan, because I feel that it’s the best ryokan in Japan. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. And Okami-chan is the best girl in all of Nagano! When I come back home, I will tell everyone who she is and where she is from - Meiji Onsen Ryokan, Chino, Nagano, Japan! 🇯🇵 (As a fantastic bonus, it’s even allowed to go in with uncovered tattoos! Not every ryokan can match up to that!)"
Sawaemon
"The location is great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel for people who like Japanese food. The dining area is partitioned off like a semi-private room, so you can dine in peace. You can use the open-air bath for free for 40 minutes. There is a sunken kotatsu table in the room."
