"Old fashioned and homely hotel by a busy road and the now defunct Cluny station. Location is very convenient for cyclists using the voie verte and also for the bus stop to Maçon TGV station. The lounge and dining room are very attractive and restful overlooking the Grosne river. The rooms are comfortable and although we had rooms directly adjacent to the road, the quadruple glazing kept the noise out well. Road noise might be an issue if the weather was hot however and there was a need to keep the windows open overnight. We did not eat at the restaurant as frustratingly, our tour company had told us erroneously that there was no need to book ahead. The breakfast was very good however. The owners were charming and very helpful and we were able to leave our bags with them while we explored the town before getting the Maçon bus. We would like to return in the future and next time will be sure to book the restaurant in advance."

"This is an exceptional place to stay. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Our bedroom had a stunning city view with the garden and pool. The garden was full of butterflies and every morning we were woken to the sound of church bells and bird song. The Rue D’Avril is an historical road and we were even taken past La Maison Tandem on our guided tour. At the end of the road you encounter the most historical part of the city with the two arches overlooking the old monastery. It’s also very convenient for eating out with two excellent restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk. It’s also a great place to keep bikes if you’re interested in biking the old railway line that goes to the North and South of Cluny and includes the famous tunnel, Du Bois Clair. Cluny is also home to show jumping events which added an intriguing dimension to our visit. Most people there tended to stay for 1/2 or 3 nights but we were there a whole week and it was wonderful.
