"Owners and staff are unorganized and unreliable, and difficult to get ahold of. I emailed directly to book 4-5night stay, and it took weeks to get a reply, once I finally did, I was informed with a price of $169usd per night, they confirmed twice the price and I proceeded to ask for booking confirmation. I was then told the nightly price would actually be $330usd per night.. which was a big jump, and I was disappointed as I already canceled and lost my previously booked accommodation to book this one. They then told me they would honour the price of $169, which was lovely, until I asked again for a total cost and confirmation, willing to pay in full for 5 nights, for the host to tell me they decided to not honour the original price after all. This conversation took multiple days, with the host only replying once in a while, delayed responses, incorrect information, and was uncomfortable for me as a guest trying to simply book and get accurate information efficiently."

We chose the option to pay at the hotel, but they charged our card 50% of the booking up front and even though we cancelled our booking days in advance, they wouldn't refund or respond to us. Do not provide them with your credit card or personal information! Avoid this place."

"I think your experience will vary depending on which room you have. We had a roadside room which was very noisy. Room itself was clean, shower great, pillows and mattress ok. Hotel is in good location for beach with a few restaurants and a supermarket close by."

"Set in beautiful gardens up a side road (with parking), this lodge is brilliantly located (if you have a car) to explore the beaches and villages of the southern Nicoya area. Our room was right opposite the warm pool, with loungers and tables and chairs. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Yes, there is a new apartment being built over the road, but the work is being done during the day and mostly by hand (it’s not like a massive construction site on the Costa del Sol!) and it did not bother us at all. The room stayed cool (with the A/C) and almost completely bug free (the door fitted really well). We enjoyed watching squirrels and humming birds just outside our room (No. 5 a quadruple room with two double beds). The breakfast choices were all delicious (we tried them all!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks go to Ania, who gave excellent advice about our journeys to and from the lodge and who recommended some fantastic restaurants. The yoga deck was an added bonus, with daily classes; Carlotta’s flow in particular, was Devine."
