"This hotel is new but still has system issues. We faced the same problem twice. We booked it on the way to California, but the city had a power outage and the hotel didn’t have a generator, so we had to go to El Paso instead. On the way back, we booked here again and found out the system wasn’t working, even the elevator. Check-in was super slow, and the girl at the desk, who was mostly on her phone, wasn’t very helpful."

"Today is another day of blind box guessing. A family of five travels. The room is not big but enough. The health is acceptable. The service is quite satisfactory. The facilities are generally the same. The overall experience is OK."

"Affordable place to stay if you have an errand around this city or even you have got a trip with family as well as your friend. We lodge here just one night before heading Guadalupe National Park. The room is cozy. Decent breakfast"

"Convenient transportation, everything is OK, the bathroom has plenty of hot water and the bed is comfortable. But I found that there is a cockroach on the TV table. The breakfast is very rich and delicious. There are three kinds of fruits and many types of bread. Each of them is specially wrapped."

"The staff were nice and the room clean. It was right next to the freeway so it was a little bit noisy but not too bad, not enough to disturb my sleep. Breakfast was simple, coffee available, cereal and yogurt but there's a McDonald's right next door. Easy on and off Highway 10."

"We really did enjoy our stay at this hotel. The lobby was very nice, even though we paid an additional $20.00 per dog x4 they made it very accommodating for us. We were able to eat our dinner in the courtyard with all 4 dogs and not have to leave them in our room. They had a little outdoor patio area off our room for them to do their business without having to leave the room. Other guests we spoke with are frequent fliers at the El Capitan and had nothing but good things to say about the hotel. For dinner we had the hotels rib eye steak and mashed potato's with grilled asparagus. As an appetizer we had the garden salad and the El Capitan salad both very good. The restaurant split our 14% rib eye for us with a small charge of $2.50 for extra mashed potato's which was well worth it. We were traveling from California to Georgia and are very grateful that hotels like Van Horn even allow more than 2 dogs. We LOVE our pups and traveling with then can become very challenging when some places have a two dog maximum."
