"This is by far the best guesthouse in the Maldives! Tholal, the friendly owner, made sure that we had all we needed in the 14 days we were there. The guesthouse is also equipped with a kitchen and washing machine, free use of masks and snorkels. But the absolute highlight were the sea excursions with his motorboat. We saw whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, dolphins…it was amazing. Good price for what he offered, the best excursions we joined in the Maldives. Don’t hesitate to book, you will not regret it! "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed here in July 2026 and had an absolutely fantastic experience. We did a total of 6 dives over 2 days, and everything was perfectly organized. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. They even prepared packed meals for us to take on our diving trips, which was a thoughtful touch. The diving was amazing. We saw manta rays, reef sharks, and a shipwreck, and our dive guides were highly professional, experienced, and made every dive safe and enjoyable. The hotel was comfortable, the food was great, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of service. I highly recommend South Ari Dive Center to anyone visiting the Maldives. I would definitely come back!"

"Thanks to Ashraf, Ibrahim, Fazla and Husain. Our stay at Banyan Villa was fantastic! We always felt welcomed and at home. The guesthouse is beautiful in its simplicity, very clean and well cared for. The rooms are comfortable and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. We had half board and the food was excellent, tasty and always carefully prepared. Ashraf always did his best to meet our wishes in every way. We went on several excursions with Ibrahim and Husain, all of them very well organized. Banyan is a welcoming, warm and beautifully run place. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back next year. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, family-style place, suitable for both couples and families."

"Unfortunately, our experience with Aqua Luna was extremely disappointing, especially because of the way the excursion and payment were handled. We agreed to a whale shark excursion for $75 per person. Unfortunately, there were no whale sharks that day, so they suggested going to look for manta rays instead, which we agreed to. After around 1.5 hours, they suggested continuing the trip with some snorkeling and looking for other sharks, as 1.5 hours would obviously be a very short excursion. We agreed, and the whole activity ended up lasting around 3 hours, including all the boat transfers between locations. The problem came when we checked out. We were suddenly told that the activities were going to cost us $400 in total. We were completely surprised, as nobody had ever told us that the additional activities would have an extra charge. We explained that we had agreed to a $75-per-person excursion and that the additional activities had been suggested by them during the trip. They then changed the price to $300 total. We still refused, because this was never the price communicated or agreed upon. After continuing to complain, they finally agreed to charge us $75 per person — the price we had originally been told. What is particularly frustrating is that they essentially put several activities into the same three-hour excursion — a short manta encounter, looking for sharks, snorkeling around a small island and all the necessary boat transfers — and only afterwards tried to present this as multiple additional charges. Then things got even worse. We tried to pay the agreed amount, but their card terminal was not working. We had a ferry booked for 2:30 pm and were repeatedly trying to settle the bill. Because we could not make the payment, we missed our ferry. Initially, they told us that this was not their problem and that we would have to pay for alternative transportation ourselves. Only after we put everything in writing did they apologise and agree to pay for the speedboat. We appreciate that they eventually paid for the speedboat, but this does not compensate for the several hours of our trip that we lost because of this situation. The biggest issue was not that we did not see a whale shark — wildlife cannot be guaranteed. The issue was the lack of transparency about the price and the fact that the price changed repeatedly only after we questioned the bill. We absolutely DO NOT recommend Aqua Luna. In our opinion, it is seriously overpriced and completely overrated for what it offers. There are much better options in Dhangethi, and we would choose somewhere else without hesitation."
