"The hotel is not far from Palomino. It is a very beautiful, well-kept complex. We had the "Casa dos", a large room in the main building (1st floor) with a large balcony. The room/bathroom were very good and clean. The facilities were rather poor. There was a fridge, but it was empty. The safe was broken, so you could only use the key. There was soap and shampoo, that was it. All the lights on our balcony were broken. The pool and whirlpool were great, the beach was fantastic. The staff were friendly. Special feature: There are several macaws and a toucan that live there freely, are tame and like to hang out at reception. Basically a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. The hotel works with "Tour Aventura Palomino", with whom we booked a few excursions. Big praise to the agency. They responded to individual requests, treated us excellently and the price was completely OK. All the excursions took longer than originally stated, which means: They took the time to make it nice for us. Thank you for that. Excursions included: quad biking, Cascadas de Quebrada Valencia and a horse riding trip. Unfortunately, there is also criticism: 1) We were there at a time when the hotel was almost empty. Nevertheless, you always have to wait forever for everything. The service is not up to scratch. 2) The food is not appropriate for a hotel like this, the so-called breakfast buffet does not deserve the name. There are four types of eggs, some fruit, coffee, cocoa, juice, cereal, a bit of bread and jam. That's it. It was like that the whole time. The only variations are the types of fruit and juice. The food on the menu sounds good, but is mostly over-seasoned and not particularly good. A shame. 3) A no-go for me is the watered-down cocktails. They absolutely avoid making you wait for the cocktails. They always bring them. The reason is simple: instead of alcohol, they mix in loads of lemon juice. A certain system is evident. The mojitos were good at first, but got blander each time. Conclusion: The complex is great, the surroundings are even better. The beach is beautiful and you can walk along the beach to Palomino (I would recommend this to everyone and also to see Palomino). We were there for a week and that is definitely too long. The hotel seems to be designed for guests to only stay one or two nights. Then the bad food is not that noticeable. Personally, I think it's a shame and therefore I'm torn between satisfactory and good. The hotel has a lot of potential. Everything that is needed is there. If the service and food were adapted accordingly, it would be highly recommended and a real alternative to the typical tourist places like Santa Marta, Cartagena, etc."

"We spent a beautiful Christmas 2025 at Aite in Palomino. The setting is incredible and the lodge we were in was clean and comfortable. All staff were marvellously warm and helpful and the food in the restaurant was delicious and fresh, offering local dishes. There are two pools, table tennis, a football pitch and games available. They also offer activities at an extra cost. Don't miss out on tubing down Rio Don Diego! It was nice to learn about the family history of how the resort came to be, which gave the place even more meaning. As a note of warning, the sea is very rough and it isn't recommended to swim in it."

"Fantastic! My 82-year-old mom and I spent 3 nights there submerged in nature. We opened our doors on both sides of our beautiful room and looked at the palms, the Caribbean Sea, enjoyed the breeze. We were welcomed by the owner and her "right hand", Juana (dressed in a colorfully tropical dress). We were introduced to the place: spacious, well-maintained land, immaculate, spacious rooms hidden in greenery, the main, social area (luxurious), and the big swimming pool (you can actually SWIM in it it is so big). We were treated by the owner, Monica, and her husband, and Juana as family. No exaggeration. We spend calm, enjoyable few days at Territorio Magico, visiting nearby flamingo reserve and chilling by the pool. "I stayed at RCH with my husband and two young children (6 and 8 years) five nights in January 2024. Upon arrival, one of the owners Paul offered our family an upgrade for a small fee - specifically, he upgraded us to a family suite, which comprises two interconnecting rooms (each with own bathroom). This configuration was our favourite configuration in all of Colombia, as previously we had been losing sleep by sharing two double beds between the four of us (the standard family room setup in the other hotels we stayed in). Thank you Paul for thinking of us and making this happen. Rooms - we were in interconnecting suites 3 and 4. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished and sleep quality is high (you can hear the waves!) The beds, pillows and linen were extremely comfortable, and a mosquito need is hung around the bed in case you would like it (though we didn’t actually see any mosquitoes). The bathrooms open-air and extremely lovely. L’Occitane essentials are provided. Hot water is plumbed in (quite unusual in these parts!), including at the outdoor beach shower. Vibes and location - the location is approx. a 2.5 hour, easy drive from Santa Marta. In terms of vibes, there is a lovely pool, bar and restaurant scene overlooking the water. The beach scenario is chalk and cheese as compared with Santa Marta (where we stayed for two nights). Here, there are no nuisances such as motorised watersports, touts setting up jewellery stands in front of you, people grabbing your feet and not letting go in order to give you a massage (all happened in Santa Marta). And while I don’t want to unduly disparage Santa Marta - the beach is truly stunning and we still had an amazing time - this is a much quieter experience, with only a few others on the beach at at time, and nobody selling things. Suitability for families - absolutely yes! Bring your children here. Just happy days on the beach - and more! Children are warmly received and welcomed. In fact, Paul went out of his way to arrange a special visit from a macaw for the children at the hotel! Between the beach and pool, and types of activities on offer, our children were extremely happy and entertained. I would like to add a special note that the people who designed the menu really “get kids”, and there are many options that our kids just loved. At one point they were fighting over the pasta al horno (I think that’s what it was called! The pasta with cheese). Interestingly, I thought the hotel was still romantic and perfect for couples. Paul and Carlos are nailing it! Activities - we were truly touched by the effort Carlos went to in planning our activities. We told Paul (in the first instance, then Carlos) what our interests were, and they curated a little itinerary for us. The flamingo experience was truly world-class and I hope that this attraction will be developed sustainability if and when it becomes more popular! Fingers crossed.
