The Melanesian Port Vila

The Melanesian Port Vila ★★★

📍 25 Rue Picarde, Kumul Hwy, Port Vila

"The room was okay, but the facilities were quite old. Breakfast was a bit simple, considering the price. There's a Chinese restaurant across the street. Book the airport shuttle bus early: VUV is 1500 per person, and taxi is 2500 per car."

Lagoon Gardens
8.4 (44 reviews)

Lagoon Gardens ★★★

📍 787Q+HR7, Teouma Road, Port Vila

"Our friend drove us to the hotel in the evening. Because it was dark and raining, we couldn't see the signs and ended up at the restaurant next door. We called the restaurant, and hotel staff came right away and showed us to our room. The room was spacious and clean, and the bedding was nice. Air conditioning is an extra charge. The breakfast location was great; we enjoyed our coffee while admiring the view."

South Pacific Memories
9.6 (34 reviews)

South Pacific Memories ★★★

📍 Angelfish Cove Road, Pango, Port Vila, Efate

"Beautiful oceanfront setting with relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Hosts Ann and Petter welcoming and helpful, offering plenty of local insights. In-house chef Andreas provides fresh and healthy dinners. A little remote but easy to commute to town via local buses. Expanse of beach and reef to explore right out the front (hosts provide expert guidance and equipment as required). Well tended native garden, comfortable and very clean facilities with excellent and attentive staff. Would definitely stay again."

Nasama Resort
8.4 (112 reviews)

Nasama Resort ★★★★

📍 Pango Rd, Port Vila

"Friendly and helpful staff. The furniture is old and needs to be updated. Hot water is unstable, it was often necessary to rinse with cold water. A broken clock hung on the wall, which was very annoying. At night, small lizards run along the walls inside the bedroom and the ceiling, which made sounds, which is also not pleasant to hear at night. The pillows are long and hard. Dirt accumulated in the washing machine in the tank, which did not wash, but, on the contrary, stained the washed clothes."

Mangoes Resort
8.5 (60 reviews)

Mangoes Resort ★★★★

📍 785F+F3Q, Rue De Wales, Port Vila

"The location was good and close to the main part of the town a sort 7 minute ride by car. Unfortunately the accommodation was not as the pictures had shown on their website, the rooms and decor were very tired looking and dated, the bathroom and toilet were run down and needed a refurbishment. The gym could only be accessed though a construction site and the 13 pools that were advertised on their resort app were no where to be found, I would not recommend staying at this resort."

Tropicana Lagoon Apartments Hotels in Efate

"I am not one to complain or make negative comments about our stays however I feel I need to mention a few items. From the moment we arrived we felt very awkward, like we had interrupted a family gathering. There were more workers than guests. The Resort was neat, tidy and crisply painted white-looked appealing. Colonial style rooms wooden floorboards high ceiling with fan and nice balcony overlooking the river from the lagoon-wouldn’t recommend swimming in there. No hot water and only one towel between us, despite asking management twice to review, never got fixed. Beers were warm and not well stocked- we went and bought cold beers from the supermarket. The vibe of the place was totally off-despite us both trying to convince each other it would be relaxing we couldn’t quite shake off the feeling. The chef cooked an amazing dinner one of the best meals we had in Vanuatu-what an asset to the Resort. We had booked 4 nights and only stayed one. The Manager had no insight when we checked out even when we mentioned having no hot water was an issue. He asked us where we were going to stay which we replied back in town. He just shrugged his shoulders like it wasn’t the first time he had had this conversation or interaction with guests. We did not ask for our money back just clocked it up to an experience!! Would I recommend people to stay…no however if you are just wanting a home base and you venture out all day and come back for dinner I would recommend, hopefully you get to have a hot shower. "

Trees and Fishes Private Retreat Hotels in Efate

Trees and Fishes Private Retreat

"The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the city center and is not very large. It has its own beach and small pier. Guests can use canoes and SUPs for free; masks need to be rented. It's recommended to rent a car. The hotel charges 7000 VAT for a one-way trip to the city center, and 30,000 VAT for a full day's use with a driver. They don't give room keys; they say it's only for staff and guests, so there's nothing to worry about. Even our room door was difficult to close properly, so we just left it open. The food at the hotel wasn't very good. Breakfast was okay, but the penne pasta we ordered for lunch was extremely salty, and the fish burger for dinner had a bread as hard as a baguette. The pizza was okay, and the fries were good. The scenery is beautiful. We stayed for four nights, but lunch and dinner were the most inconvenient."

The Havannah Vanuatu - Exclusively for Adults Hotels in Efate

The Havannah Vanuatu - Exclusively for Adults

"Oh My!!!! What a wonderful place to stay. The Havannah ticked all the boxes... No Kids!, max 34 guests, extremely quiet, no motorised water sports (no jetski noise etc), a la carte for brekky lunch and dinner included in the room rate. Lots of free watercraft - single and 2 person kayaks, Hobi cat, stand up paddleboards. Also free use of snorkelling gear. The very close coral isn't spectacular, but the staff will advise which way to swim to see the better coral. There were still many very colourful fish to see, and 2 x large (30cm across) anemones just off the beach along with their resident clown fish. If you look carefully, you will often see turtles and dugongs just off the beach. We also saw a pod of dolphins out in the deeper water. For those who like to go fishing, you can book to do just that, and also book other tours, remote picnics, snorkelling etc. The meals at The Havannah are amazing! Every mouthful is a carefully curated taste experience. No seasoning necessary! And there was absolutely nothing we ate where we thought - 'needed a little more' anything. Every morsel was just perfect. The chefs here are very much world class! Every staff member was so very cheerful, helpful, kind and caring. The beach and views are amazing. Waters are crystal clear and often glassy if there is little breeze. We drank many cocktails, spirits etc for 6 nights and the total cost was only just over $300Australian - incredibly good value. The complimentary pickup from the airport took away all stress. They even tell you the evening before what time they will take you the next day to the airport. The road from Port Havannah to Port Vila is not in a good way at present, but you need to remember this is a developing country with not much population and many islands for the government to look after. The bus was aircondioned and comfy - so we just took in the views. We WILL be going back!"

"great spot in Vanuatu, great owners, great stuff, great location! very nice clean rooms rooms, very friendly stuff, nice swimming pool. owners are exceptional - after the earthquake, they help local villages (for example to supply water), their support is outstanding. staying there feels like you are part of it & helping those beatiful people, which is a great feeling. definetely recommended, 11/10!"

The Moso Hotels in Efate

The Moso

"The Moso is a beautiful resort. We stayed in the beach front pool villa, super comfortable and private. The food was amazing with new and different options every night. Crystal clear water and a beach on the other side of the island that is the most tropical, picturesque beach I've visited. The thing that really makes this place magical are the beautiful people who work there. Always smiling and so welcoming, you feel like you've joined the family from the moment you walk in. We miss you all at the Moso and we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for everything ❤️"

Eratap Beach Resort Hotels in Efate

Eratap Beach Resort

"The locals of Eratap and Eratap Beach Resort will stay with you for all the right reasons. It’s our third time at this resort and it’s always special. We always have a list of things to do (both in the resort and out) and we’re lucky to tick off half the list because we just “go with the flow” island vibe. The resort itself is fantastic, everything is taken care of as guests (food, accommodation, resort facilities). Resort activities cater for all water activities and I utilised them all (kayak, stand up paddling, surfing, snorkelling & open water swimming). The complimentary in-house morning and afternoon activities (preparing local dish, visiting Eratap village, playing soccer with the locals which I highly recommend and so so much more). I like to run, swim and ride whenever I travel and this resort provides complimentary bikes. I was able to run/ride 6km on an out and back course and was always warmly welcomed by the Ni-Vanuatu people. If you’re after an authentic experience with genuine people you cannot go past Eratap Beach Resort. It is worth the investment. Don’t worry about the pot holes around Vanuatu as they allow most drivers to drive to the conditions. Don’t try to cram as much into your day as you can as the island life is to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace. This resort can organise drivers if you want to go somewhere. Nothing is a problem. Each person you interact with that works at this resort you will get to know well by name. They are like family. Thank you Tony, Louisa, Pascalle for everything. Our family all adore all your staff there & we will see you all next time."

Le Life Resort Hotels in Efate

Le Life Resort

"My son and I stayed at the hotel in cottage #4 by the sea in July 2026. The hotel itself is decent, and the price matches the quality – it's not expensive. We only had breakfast at the hotel (mostly omelets with vegetables and hot chocolate). We didn't opt for lunch or dinner because we had read previously that they were expensive. I pre-booked the airport transfer via email with the hotel; they replied promptly. A one-way transfer cost 12,000 in local currency, which we paid by credit card upon arrival. We also booked the return transfer through the hotel, which cost 120 USD. Honestly, I think the transfer was pricey, but I couldn't find any online taxi services, and the hotel is over 60 km from the airport, so I had to go with this option as there were no others. After leaving the airport, we stopped at a supermarket to buy food to replace hotel lunches and dinners. The cottage has everything: hot water, good bedding, and towels. There's also a gas stovetop, dishes, a kettle, plates, spoons, and forks, so you can cook your own meals. However, there's nowhere to buy groceries near the hotel, so we stocked up at the supermarket upon arrival. There's no safe or slippers in the room. The hotel grounds are large, with plenty of places to walk and a long beachfront. The staff are polite and pleasant, and the hotel grounds are well-maintained. Overall, that aspect was great. What I didn't like: there's no internet in the room, which was a significant issue for me. Internet is only available in the hotel lobby, where the reception and dining area are, which is a real shame. Luckily, our cottage was right by the reception, so that was convenient. Also, be aware that there are very strong low tides on the beach until noon, though this wasn't a major concern for us; we just walked along the ocean, which was wonderful."

Lagoon Gardens ★★★
"Cleanliness: I was initially a little worried seeing the 4.1 rating, but the room was actually quite nice upon arrival. The bed was about 1.5 meters wide, very clean, and there was a sofa bed. The room had a kettle, refrigerator, microwave, and what appeared to be a toaster, etc. Water and milk were provided in the refrigerator. Although we didn't use most of it, it was still quite a surprise. The bathroom was also quite clean, but they didn't provide disposable items, a hairdryer, shampoo, or shower gel. Because our first night in Port Vila was terrible, and we later stayed at White Grass on Tanna Island, even though we knew the local environment was limited, both hotels inevitably had insects in the rooms. But Lagoon Gardens was really good; the room was spacious, and we didn't find any insects. The price was less than 500 RMB, which was very reasonable. Environment: The hotel is built next to a lagoon, so you can have breakfast facing the lagoon in the morning, which is quite pleasant. The hotel is surrounded by a lot of greenery, and the environment is very nice. Service: The staff were very friendly and offered a drop-off service for 3000 VAT, slightly more expensive than a taxi (2800 VAT). Buses come quickly from the doorstep; if you're not in a hurry, you can wait for the bus for 150 VAT per person (we also flagged down a local driver who offered a ride for 2000 VAT, just for your reference). Location: The location isn't exactly in the city center, but it's not far either. It's about 20 minutes to the airport and about 10 minutes to the city center. WiFi: Our room had WiFi coverage, and we didn't experience any issues with the network."
