Hotel Eger & Park
"Had business in the region and needed a comfortable hotel to come back and relax - Eger & Park was the perfect choice. The hotel is located close to the centre (5-10 minutes walk) and offers ample parking space for those come by car. We had a park suite, consisting of a spacious anteroom, a sleeping room to the right of the anteroom and another living/sleeping room straight through/to the left of the anteroom. One sleeping room had an ensuite bathroom with a sauna (works up to about 70C) and a jacuzzi like hottub, the other part of the suite had a living room with a sofa from where you could walk into the sleeping room/area separated from the living room by an archlike walkthrough. That sleeping room's bathroom had a pleasant shower. All rooms had one or two windows, so there was enough light in the room during the day. All facilities were in great state, and the style was kept in the entire building's baroque one. The other part of the hotel is more modern and dates back to the 80s, but is well maintained and does not have a feeling of being worn out at all. The spa area is great - three pools plus a small pool for kids (rectractable roof for that one and one of the other pools), with two of the pools having spa features, the third one being more like a pool for swimming only. There are also a sauna (excellent), steam bath, a salt and aroma room - a lot fo space for everybody, with the option to sit outside, too. Breakfast and dinner are in the park-facing area in the old part of the hotel, and you can choose between two indoor rooms and one outdoor area. Everything is buffet-only and eat as much as you can, with food being restocked properly. Juices from the machine are free of charge, so is still water. Beverages in general are of moderate pricing (this is true for the bar adjacent to the lobby with a see through window into a playing room for kids), so no need to hold back there. Staff are very friendly and hospitable - but this is "normal" in Hungary, and no matter the question, they are always willing to help and assist. Overall, it was an ideal choice, and we will certainly come back to this place."
Hotel Unicornis
"This is a small hotel in a very good location in the heart of the historic city of Eger. However, there are some issues that require attention and that in my mind do not make this a 3* hotel. The rooms are of varied quality, level 1 and 2 are more spacious and airy, levels 3 and 4 are basically attic rooms with no real windows and are rather poky. The hotel was advertised as having some wellness facilities, but these are now closed greatly reducing the attractiveness of staying here, at least for us. Rooms have air conditioning, refrigerator and wifi but otherwise the furniture and equipment are rather basic. It is the general level of hospitality and attention that leave a bit to be desired. In our room, the following problems occurred – (1) the bedside lamp did not work, (2) the cleaning was desultory, there were black hairs around the bathroom floor, (3) the shower was blocked, (4) there was no soap in the soap dispensers at either the basin, or in the shower. Further, the TV was the size of a laptop screen and practically impossible to watch from the beds. The hotel insists on everyone leaving at 10 am, right after breakfast, and this is really unreasonable. Having worked in the hotel business myself, it is obvious that cleaning cannot possibly start the same time in every room, and so the hosts should really show some flexibility in allowing some variations in check-out time, especially when it is so early. In other hotels we stayed in in Hungary hosts were happy to accommodate such request at no cost or inconvenience to themselves, and one would expect such gesture in a hotel focusing on hospitality."
Hotel Korona Wellness, Rendezvény és Borszálloda
"With family we are regular visitors of this hotel, wich is very conveniently placed and the staff is extremely kind, helpful in all aspects. The room is comfortable, after the recent renovation it looks more fresh and AC has improved also. I would like to specially recommend the Hungharina cousins and wines, independently time of visit."
Indium City Panzio
"Fast check-in via the app, good location in the city center, all the sights are nearby, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, parking was near the neighboring hotel, because there are few places here."
Hunguest Hotel Flora
"We stayed at the Flora Hotel before the renovation and were very pleased with everything. But now it's fantastic. The food is excellent, and the saunas and cleanless, The connection to the thermal baths is fantastic. The room is spacious and the bathroom is very comfortable. We recommend it to everyone and will definitely come back again. Thank you very much for a truly enjoyable stay. Andrzej L. Poland."
Vegvari Hotel Eger
"The room is as in the picture, everything is there. But. But!!!! The front door lock was broken, they didn't fix it, they didn't change the number. The door to the bathroom does not close. Food in another building, 5-10 minutes from the hotel, normal, from 7 to 10, but by 9.40 there is little left. The bedding, beds, pillows are good, as well as stylishly done in general, but there are already a few cracks on the walls."
Hunguest Saliris
"Expensive and disappointing. Emailed the day before arrival to say we would be arriving late and would there be any food options available. No reply. Arrived at 9.30pm to be told at reception that the restaurant was closed. We discovered at 10.07pm that room service was available but closed at 10pm. No mention of room service at reception. Thanks guys. On the only upside the breakfast and evening buffet was plentiful, with a good selection and pretty tasty. The rest was a huge disappointment. The design and decor was drab and very dated. For some reason heavy net curtains were drawn in the restaurant blocking out an amazing view. Why? It made this room dark and claustrophobic. In the spar half of the available space was given over to kids (fair enough). In the "adults section" lots of signs saying no children under 12yrs yet there were millions of very young children splashing around making it really annoying. No lifeguards around to enforce the signage. Parking is a farce. Guests have to pay so the whole area is littered with cars as parking outside the hotel is free! I had heard that the locals hate the hotel. It is not difficult to see why. Is it a huge slab of a building carved out of a natural hillside and forest with seemingly no desire to blend in to the natural beauty of the place. As for the salthill, which signs proudly announce can only be found in two other places on earth, well it's stuffed up a corner and dominated by the hotel. Currently sitting in a 45min queue waiting to check out. Bloody farce. Won't be coming back. "
