"Completely overpriced. The rooms are very sparsely furnished. Just beds, no table or chair. Only two toilets each for men and women for eight rooms. However, there's a good common room with a café, bar, and pool table. And everything is spotlessly clean."

"(Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion about my stay at this hotel.) This is a hotel/resort that has set the bar very high by claiming to be 4-star and the price is also on the high side. When you walk to the entrance you can already see that the 4-star level is not achieved. The website features a Trip Advisor logo with Best of the Best 2024, but the weeds come to meet you everywhere. Did they cut back on the gardener?!? Feels like faded glory... The closer you get to the entrance, the more signals you get that this is not what they claim. Dirty e-choppers that are crooked next to the entrance, Zoover Recommended 2013 on the entrance, a full ashtray at the entrance that was not emptied and only got fuller every day, a somewhat strange situation at the reception because they cannot find the reservation. We seem to have landed in a construction pit, because they are expanding and removing the plaster from the outside wall. We knew that the restaurant was being renovated, but the rest was a surprise, which caused quite a bit of inconvenience. Sitting outside on your terrace is simply not possible! Bicycles are put in a shed, and then there is a sign at every socket that says that you can only charge your bike between 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM. (?!?) Once in the room, the next disappointments come. The website claims that all rooms have been recently renovated, but that is far from the truth. The only thing that has been replaced fairly recently is the floor. Carpeting replaced with a PVC floor. Corners of the furniture are damaged, walls and ceiling dirty, shower full of limescale. Hardly any sockets, and especially no sockets by the bed. And... when you turn off the light, you also turn off the power to the sockets. So in the morning your phone is not charged for when you want to go out. There is a coffee machine in the room, with 2 capsules of coffee. No tea, while it was stated that you have coffee and tea in the room. So back to the reception. Without batting an eyelid they say that you can exchange your coffee cups for tea cups at the reception and when I ask about the hot water they say that you have to flush the coffee machine once. Tea water through the same outlet that coffee comes through... that water retains a bit of the coffee taste even after flushing it 10 times. You can buy extra cups for €0.60 at the reception. Back in the room we try the coffee machine, but it stops every time after a little bit of water has come out. It seems as if the water volume has not been adjusted properly. So we keep pressing the button until the cup is finally full. What a goodie! I think that the shower has clearly not been renovated. Joints full of limescale, and holes in the wall have been filled with white sealant. An electrical outlet by the sink that does not meet today's safety standards for electricity in the bathroom of a 4-star hotel room! We're going"

"We have been coming to the Holterhof for years. Now for the first time for a weekend. Because of 1 particular employee, we did not really like it and we would not do this again. I believe the woman is called Xio, a somewhat smaller blond older lady. She walks around as if she is the queen and is not at all hospitable to the guests. I have heard several people about it and have had several experiences with her in recent years that I did not experience as pleasant. This weekend I heard her gossiping about other guests. We were woken up 40 minutes before check-out time by banging on the door and the message that we should not oversleep. We felt very embarrassed by this. Furthermore, the room is small and cozy. The bathroom is a bit dated, but clean. I found breakfast a bit disappointing compared to the tasty and good selection on the menu itself. The food in the wellness itself is very good! The saunas are cozy and the infusions are always well taken care of."
