"About two kilometers from Gol station, this hotel has beautiful grounds on an old farmstead—roosters, a horse, and other expected accoutrements. Licia is the owner hostess, and she shops and cooks as well as greets. We enjoyed a farmer’s breakfast of eggs, baked beans and mini-sausages, homemade bread, jam, fruit, and other regular trappings. We met Licia, a Colombian-born Norwegian whose English is passable, at a supermarket as we walked toward Hesla Farm; and she thankfully drove us and our luggage up to the Farm from there…some 1.5 km from the place. I think she’d hope to meet us at the station but we informed her too late as she was catering a birthday dinner for a local octogenarian. On the drive there seemed to be an abundance of pizza and other fast-food shops. But we didn’t test any of them. The grounds were relaxing, although roosters did what roosters do starting at 4:30 AM. Breakfast began at 9 AM in the offseason."
