"A very charming hotel with a beautiful central staircase and tasteful decor, right at the entrance to the fortified city, so it's very well located for walks and also for getting to your car outside the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone). The bathroom was nice, although I had to wait a while for hot water. I don't think I had the best room, but I was very disappointed to find that mine on the top floor had no window, whereas I had briefly thought, when I received the keys, that it would have a view. The breakfast is quite comprehensive, and the coffee made by the waiter is good. The bedding was very firm, as were the pillows. We slept very poorly."

"Fairly central hotel about 10 minutes walk from the historic center of Grosseto. We stayed in a B&B for one night. Very simple rooms with slightly dated furnishings, air conditioning and bathroom; comfortable beds, slightly less so pillows. Cleaning definitely needs improvement and walls need repainting. Breakfast served on the ground floor was all in all decent. Very good for a "touch and go"."

"Location is perfect when traveling by train as it’s right next to the Grosseto station. You can also get to the city center (main Piazza) within 10-15mins of walking. The room was spacious for a solo traveler like myself. Just note that they don’t provide dental amenities (toothpaste & toothbrush). Otherwise the amenities are great, and the shower area is big too. The front desk staff are friendly and tried their best to communicate to me in English. There is a lift so don’t worry about huge suitcases. Breakfast spread is great and huge shoutout to the friendly staff/barista Raimona (hope I spelled it correctly) for amazing coffee and always greeting with a big smile on the mornings!"

"We booked Fattoria San Lorenzo because we wanted to stay at an agritourismo near Grosseto. The Fattoria San Lorenzo is not what I would call a traditional Fattoria. It is more like a holiday apartment complex and the restaurant is a separate commercial entity serving food which is ok but not what we were expecting. Discovering this when we arrived was disappointing but to make our stay even worse, we arrived to find that the apartment we had booked, which should have had a terrace with outdoor furniture and a bbq, had been given to someone else before we arrived and we had been allocated an apartment above the restaurant with no outside space. The pool area of the complex is ok but it doesn’t really feel like there is a heart to the place. This information relates to the Livia part of the complex. The second accommodation block - Pozzino - is half a mile away and has no facilities other than the pool, which is a much lower standard than the main pool. The accommodation at Pozzino, which was offered to us as an alternative, doesn’t really look like the rustic, quaint apartments shown on the website with antique furniture and cream awnings over lovely terraces with nice furniture. The awnings are red and old and the furniture inside and out is tired. There is another part of the complex - Le Capanne. We didn’t go to see this but it is even further away from the main facilities. Apartments appear to be sold as being on either Livia or Pozzino but the quality is not the same. If you decide to book here, I would advise requesting that your apartment is in the Livia part of the complex and, if outdoor living space is important to you, I would be very clear in the notes section of your booking. We were offered our final night’s stay without charge to compensate us but the lack of outdoor space really compromised this stay for us."
