"Beautiful property. It is a family property with an addition of guest rooms in differents parts of the castle. We enjoyed the stay and the friendly staff was always helpful. There is a very good restaurant. Cons, because it is a small property, some problems cannot be solved immediately, but the workers always were helpful and tried to upgrade the room even under a small problem, that could affect our excellent experience. one personal highlight: One day we bought some cheese and snacks as well as a prosecco bottle and seat outside, then Paolo, the restaurant manager, saw us an provided an ice bucket as well as candles (it was too dark) and table service, big detail The castle and its location are a dream, in the middle of nowhere, but close to main Umbria points of interest."

"What a shocking hotel. Definitely not the 4 star as advertised. Firstly we were not contacted by the Hotel to inform us we would not be able to drive to it to drop off our luggage as there was a lot of roadworks and some of these were outside the Hotel. We had to park in the car park and drag our cases up the hill and finally up the very steep stone steps at the side of the Hotel. Very poor customer service. The room was supposed to be a superior room but it was very basic and the furniture and bathroom had seen better days. Our room was next to the breakfast room so we were awoken very early by crashing and banging of cutlery, plates, etc. All in all not a good experience and glad we were only there for 1 night. That said, the town of Gubbio is beautiful and worth a visit"

"This lovely hotel met our expectations in every way. It’s not cheap (for us at least) but it provides a high-end experience without being snooty. The staff are highly competent and friendly, many of them multilingual. The public spaces and grounds are lovely, including many impressive art works. My only quibble is that the selection of wines by the glass in the bar are decidedly uninspired. For one of the great wine growing regions of the world, they have missed the opportunity to showcase the glories of Umbrian wine in their by-the-glass options. On a practical level, as a point of departure for visiting Gubbio, the town is walkable from the hotel (maybe 10 minutes to the edge of the town center)."

"This was to be our second visit to Gubbio and the San Marko Not the most attractive building but don’t let that put you off Really good hotel,Everything was good from the Staff to the room We were welcomed by Roberto and what a star he is,nothing to much for him,and he always seemed to be around on the three days we stayed there. A five minute walk into the town,on the Saturday we were there they had a market as big I had ever seen Plenty of first class restaurants All in all a great stay,and if we ever return to Gubbio we would not stay anywhere else"
