"I was able to watch the sunrise 🌅 in a room facing the sea. The room and futon were clean. You can see the sea from the open-air bath. The food was full of seafood. I especially ate the butter-fried abalone while it was still warm. I wondered if I could eat that much, but it was delicious 😋. The staff were all kind and had nice smiles. They spoke to me in a fun way 🎶"

"Hagi No Yado Tomoe is an amazing Ryokan. The exterior is nice and clean and once you head on inside, you enter a rare and elegant world. The facilities are wonderful and everything is created with exceptional precision. The staff are always patient, polite, extremely kind and respectful. They were also very accomodating towards our child. The room we had was amazing and both the dinner and breakfast were delicious and beautifully presented. The onsen was also clean and relaxing. Highly recommended for your next stay if you visit Hagi."

"The part of my trip to Japan I was most looking forward to was staying at a Hakone ryokan, and it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. As soon as I arrived at the ryokan, the friendly staff's guidance and the refined Japanese atmosphere made me feel as if my travel fatigue was melting away. The guest room was a traditional tatami room that was immaculately maintained, and the natural scenery visible through the window was truly beautiful. What I particularly loved was the hot springs. Soaking in the warm water felt like all the accumulated fatigue was melting away, and I was able to spend a relaxing time in the open-air bath accompanied by a cool breeze. The Kaiseki meal served for dinner was so excellent that I was impressed by it with my eyes first, and moved a second time by its taste. Thanks to the fresh ingredients and meticulous plating, I was able to truly experience traditional Japanese culinary culture. Hakone Ryokan, where I could enjoy hot springs, delicious meals, and comfortable relaxation all in a quiet atmosphere, remains the best memory of my trip to Japan. It is a place I definitely want to visit again if I return to Japan."

The warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality of the staff made me feel as though I was being welcomed into a family home. Staying here felt like receiving a warm embrace from a grandmother—comforting, sincere, and unforgettable. The location is equally remarkable. Situated right by the beach and surrounded by Hagi’s rich history, the ryokan offers easy access to historical landmarks while being just steps away from the beautiful samurai district. It is the perfect base for exploring one of Japan’s most charming and culturally significant towns. Hagi Ichirin provided one of the most memorable stays I have ever experienced, and I am already looking forward to returning. I cannot recommend it highly enough."
