"I stayed one night on a birdwatching trip to Leighton Moss. My single room was small, oddly shaped, but did not feel cramped. The bed was very comfortable and I actually slept well, which is unusual for me when away from home. Although the street is very close to the port, the double glazing kept it very quite overnight. Storage space (furniture made of recycled wood) was good, and there was plenty of tea/coffee etc in the room. Decor was simple but fresh. Like the room the bathroom was modern and spotless; towels were thick and soft, and there were toiletries. Great to have off-street parking. I didn't take advantage of the kitchen as I ate out with a family member who was working nearby at the time, and I left early and had breakfast at another bird reserve. Communication with the owners by phone/email/text was very good. And did I mention the price? it was about half what a certain chain was quoting. One hint: Moneyclose lane is divided into two, one being a narrow lane flanked by trees (and deeply flooded). That's not it. The Port House is on the Moneyclose Lane that is a small turning off Port Way, the road past the port. The Duke of Rothsay pub is very close to it."
