Since we were driving, parking was a deciding factor – it was convenient, and there were spaces despite our late arrival. Without a car, it's a long walk to the city center. Cleanliness, WiFi, and quiet surroundings – everything you need for a comfortable night's sleep. And a beautiful view of the bridge."

"The location is excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Carrefour Express is about a 7-minute walk away. The rooms and apartments are very clean and perfect for traveling with children. Cooking is possible, and the dishes are all provided. The beds are comfortable. The staff are very friendly, polite, and helpful. The only downside is that the paid street parking downstairs is often full. If you don't mind, you can leave your luggage at the hotel and then drive on. There are many paid parking spaces nearby, near the pier, for about €12 for 12 hours."

"Small studio located on a quiet street near the old harbor. Cooking facilities are available in the rental. There is no parking nearby; we parked in the free parking lot on Boulevard Charles V (a 15-minute walk). Unfortunately, we slept poorly due to street noise (the room was on the ground floor) and the ventilation systems from the surrounding restaurants. Furthermore, it was very hot, and there was no air conditioning or fan."

"Very nice hotel and good location with nice views and garden. Breakfast was a bit difficult since I had to ask for cappuccino with any other milk than cow because of my allergy but they kept bringing me cappuccino with cow milk. Also we got omelettes with ham when we asked for cheese and didn’t even mention ham. When they offered to make new ones without ham it took literally more than half an hour to bring them. Also using the spa is ridiculously expensive."

"Pleasant hotel but very overpriced for what is on offer. Rooms comfortable but no better than a good version of Premier Inn. For £330 for 2 nights I expect than just a shower in the bathroom. Some of our party had a "deluxe room" with double bed and room for a third person and a snazzier bathroon with a bath (£430 for 2 nights) - the 3rd bed being a fold out/flip out foam rubber affair with no bedding provided even though the hotel knew the bed would be used, Our reason for choosing the hotel in the first place was because it offered an indoor pool with the equipment to offer a strong current to swim against. Also a sauna. Neither of these were operational during our 2 day visit. For those kind of prices one could also reasonably expect a comfortable sitting area/lounge for when the weather was not suitable for the terrace. All that was on offer was a few hard chairs in the breakfast area. There was an additional area (not much more comfortable from the look of it) which was blocked off with a notice that it was not allowed to be used. Pleasant enough, but not up to those prices or value for money. When we mentioned the lack of pool current machine & sauna we were given a 20 euros reduction on a 1,600 euro bill. "We spend 1 night in this outstanding and extraordinary place! It is lovely and quiet and just a short 1 minute drive to Honfleur. The property is huge and exceptionally beautiful. Grounds are beautiful and the pool is heated. Rooms are also excellent. Bathroom was huge and also excellent. Breakfast was excellent as well with lots of delicious pastries. Staff was very friendly and berry caring. It is a small property with something like 8 rooms. Parking is on site (free and very convenient). Overall excel and outstanding place. Very very high scale!"

"This hotel is not a five-star hotel. First, the positives: this hotel has a unique location in a beautiful setting. The location is truly beautiful and ideal for sightseeing. The breakfast is very poor and definitely not what we expect from a five-star hotel at these prices. We had to carry our suitcases up the stairs ourselves, which caused me back pain for over a week. There was no one to help. This should and could be on a whole other level. We will not be returning. Such a shame."

"The old house has a long history, and it was a good experience to stay there. If I have to make a comment, it would be that the indoor lighting is relatively dark and the price is a bit expensive. The bathroom is a highlight, with a bathtub, shower, and sauna. The environment is quiet and the hotel's own garden is very cozy. Will choose to stay again."

"My wife and I booked to stay one night in a Suite to complete our Brittany/Normandy adventure in June. A L'Ecole Buissonniere is a family run high quality bed and breakfast. We wanted a room with air conditioning and were advised at the time of booking that this would be on the 3rd floor - given the age of the building which dates back to the 17th century, there is no lift, which was clearly stated in the room details. We were also advised that the shower facility is within the large modern bathtub which is part of the "open plan" room with the bed at the other end of the room The venue is full of character, likewise our suite which was spacious (c600 sq feet), comfortable and well equipped including a fridge. There is a good sized garden and terrace with tables and chairs and adequate car parking (gated at night) to serve the small number of rooms. On arrival, we were met by Antoine who offered to help us negotiate the sometimes steep stairs up to our room. Throughout our visit, he was very helpful and provided us with a map of the town and 3 recommendations for restaurants for dinner near the Bassin. We opted for L'Absinthe where we enjoyed an excellent seafood/fish dinner - the restaurant was fairly large and clearly popular so we were glad we did an online booking for our Wednesday night. The continental breakfast provided by Antoine and his family was outstanding and beautifully presented - fresh fruit, wonderful croissants, baguettes, and hard boiled eggs. You can find cheaper accommodation in Honfleur but probably not with the quality/character of A L'Ecole Buissonniere or with onsite parking, which was a factor for us. We can definitely recommend a stay here"
