"It's located in a massive building; not very stylish, but functional. Inside, you enter a very attractive hotel lobby. Unfortunately, only later, after breakfast, did we discover that the hotel staff were talking very loudly and from a great distance. It was unbearable! Our room was very comfortable; the size was right, the furnishings were pleasant, and we particularly appreciated the large balcony. We could sit there and had a lovely view of a busy square in the middle of the city. Despite the traffic, we slept well at night. The beds were good, but there were other problems with sleep: the building is very thinly soundproof, and you can hear the water running through the walls. We ended up sleeping with earplugs in our ears. The location was good. It was 200 meters from the beach and 500 meters from the bus terminal. The breakfast was very extensive, but unfortunately, there were no Greek dishes, and the quality of the food available was very poor. The location of breakfast was also somewhat disappointing: We sat in the dim light of a very poorly lit room. Only in a small side room did we get a hint of Greek food and light, with Cretan jams, nuts, and dried fruit. Some Greek music would have been nice, too. Conclusion: The price is too high for the shortcomings, and it's also not a good choice for us because we like to explore different countries on our travels, and there's nothing at the Astrom that has a Greek character. This is certainly an upscale hotel, but with a bland, run-of-the-mill feel."

"The staff were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. On asking when I had to vacate the room I was told that as I had a problem with my car I could leave everything I the room until it was resolved. This I really appreciated. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and there was 2 sachets of coffee and 2 of milk. Also a bottle of water. Bathroom was clean and towels were provided. Breakfast was good. Lots of choice and you could sit outside and look at a great view of the sun rising over Irepetra. I would not hesitate to stay here again."

"The photo’s only show the best room. In the room it wasn’t even possible to place a suitcase on the floor without blocking everything. I think this was the worst hotel I since years stayed and far far below any modern standard. Only the hotel lobby felt comfortoble. "The Deluxe suite with sea view and two bedrooms was spacious, nice terrace. The other two balconies belonging to the apartment were without furniture. Two toilets. Well worth the money, highly recommended. Straight across the beach. Note that the reception is at the hotel, which is not that close, and it is not open all the time. The doors are with codes, so do the online check-in, so you get the codes by email. The room door panel for the code needs strong presses. The breakfast is very modest."
