This beach was awarded with the 5 star ecological blue flag, only a total of 5 beaches qualified in the whole country for the top rating with 5 stars they went though a program of qualifying great ocean water and potable water plus cleanliness of the town and efficient recycling programs in the community. The beach is ideal for swimming and absolutely beautiful surrounded with palm trees and lots of shade throughout the whole day. Most of the homes around Villa Oasis are residential. In our street called Oasis (named after our home) there are about 10 other homes for permanent friendly residents and 2 other rental homes for families.There are also a couple of tour companies in town to help you arrange your activities, one is called Octopus Costa Rica and it is recommend for the dolphin tours and a wonderful ocean experience. Water activities are the highlights of our town. Anything from swimming, going for a dolphin and whale tour, fishing for inshore and offshore, kayaking and paddle boarding, snorkeling at Punta Indio and Isla Chora or just taking an adventure to the jungle by ATV or side by sides to swim in a waterfall and have a barbecue in a secluded paradisiac white sand beach. Everyone is friendly in our community and happy to provide great service for people visiting the area. Samara offers lots of restaurants in front of the water and lots of souvenir shops. There are a handful of tour operators that offer great activities for adults and children. Carrillo also offers a Gym with instructor, a horse back riding tour guide named Luis Angel that is fantastic and two grocery stores where you can find absolutely everything you may need on vacation from fruits to liquor and wine. Playas del Sur and Roble that also belong to our town offer a paradisiac experience with a small waterfall flowing right into the sand in the months of May through November and lots of tide pools. One of the highlights of Carrillo is walking the whole beach which is 2 kilometers long or 4 kilometers round trip. The walk is easy and you will see lots of species of birds including Kingfishers, lots of egrets and scarlet macaws. The gentle walk provides so much beauty. A lot of people like to do this walk early in the mornings to see the sunrises or some may prefer to go for a sunset cruise and swim. If you feel adventurous you can walk all around the Punta Indio rock at the North side of the beach. Carrillo is a very safe town and friendly.This is not a luxury Villa, it is very spacious and lovely but we do not offer luxury. There is a gated entry and parking for up to 5 cars for your convenience as well.Our home is centrally located in the small fishing town of Puerto Carrillo. It is walking distance to the local tiendas (groceries), restaurants, pizzerias, cafés Ko, and of course THE beautiful beach. Carrillo Beach was rated among the top 25 hideaway beaches in the world in Travel and Leisure magazine. Samara is the next beach town 10 minutes away and provides more shopping, restaurants, surfing and adventure tours. Playa Carrillo is one of the most desirable beaches in Costa Rica. This 2-mile long white sand beach is lined with palm trees that provide plenty of shade. And, is void of commercial development. No bars, no hotels, no restaurants, just like its supposed to be with a few locals selling coconut milk or a push cart with sno-cones. Many mornings you can walk the entire beach and see only a handful of people. Carrillo’s horseshoe bay is protected from the rolling Pacific waves by a coral reef which is available for snorkeling at low tide. The waves are usually very playful with no undertow, making it perfect for all ages. Surfers looking for bigger waves can go to Camaronal, the next beach south. Convenience is key when planning an exciting vacation.Getting to this pristine location is surprisingly easy. If you fly into Liberia International Airport, you can rent a car or charter a Samara Adventures van to take you 2 hour drive. The road is paved the entire way to the house, which is quite a luxury for Costa Rica. If you are flying into San Jose, the drive is usually just under 4 hours. Flying from San Jose is 35 minutes on the local commuter airline, Sansa, which lands at an airstrip in nearby Islita approximately 35-40 minutes away.
