"This was an exceptionally pleasant stay, offering fantastic value for money. Our Japanese-style room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. Sitting on the balcony, gazing out at the clear blue sea, truly sparked endless reverie. The hotel owners (a husband and wife team) were wonderfully hospitable and attentive, always going the extra mile to help. Even though the hotel isn't far from Atami Station, the owner personally provided shuttle service, picking up and dropping off guests arriving from afar. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Atami, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family."

Taking a taxi from Atami Station to the hotel is free, and the taxi back to the station from the hotel is also free, which completely eliminates the hassle of lugging suitcases around.
The room was very spacious and offered direct ocean views. All the drinks in the minibar were complimentary, and on the 3rd floor lounge, there were snacks and a variety of drinks available for enjoyment. It was truly delightful to have a drink and chat there.
The breakfast was delicious! You could even make your own orange juice; three oranges equaled one cup of juice, and it tasted amazing!
I will definitely come back again!"

"Let's start with the positives: It's a 5-minute walk from Atami Station, the hotel is relatively new, and the rooms are clean and well-proportioned. We were able to open two 39-inch suitcases simultaneously without issue. Breakfast is served at the downstairs cafe, typically a small drink and a sandwich. Although it faces the railway tracks, we didn't find the noise to be a significant bother.
Now for the negatives: Right next door is the Tengoku Funeral Hall! I think this should definitely be noted, as some people might find it quite off-putting, though we personally weren't too bothered by it. The Toyoko Inn across the street shares the same location."

"Booked this hotel to see the Atami Fireworks Festival, and it was pretty good value. Since our room didn't have a sea view, the front desk gave us two tickets to watch the fireworks from the rooftop. The room was clean, just a bit small. Slippers were reusable, but they provided disposable towels, two per person, along with skincare products and hair oil. The stay included breakfast and dinner for two, which was enough to fill us up, and featured some local specialties like Atami pudding and ice cream. Getting a taxi was difficult; we needed help from the front desk (some staff weren't very helpful; they said they'd call a taxi for us but didn't, so we ended up taking the hotel shuttle to Atami Station to catch one)."

"Everything was great and sometimes far above our expectations. The building is quite new, very well designed, each room has it's own name and has panoramic view from the balcony. We loved everything about our stay: from meals (which were surprisingly good, despite some negative reviews!) to spacious room and relaxing onsen...
Separately I'd like to highlight the service: unfortunately I didn't ask the name of receptionist who hosted us, but her warm welcome, perfect English and readiness to help with everything was heartwarming! She definitely made that stay for us!
Although location is a bit far from train station and might not be convenient if your goal is to explore Atami and its surroundings, however for those travelling by car (like us) it is perfect: it is in very calm and tranquil area on the cliff, ideal for relax and rest. They also provide free and spacious parking, so nothing to complain at all.
Overall to me it was 11 out of 10."

"It's an old hotel with shuttle bus. The Japanese-style room is very spacious, but the bathroom and toilet are located at the north and south ends of the room, about 10 meters away. I often go the wrong way, which shows how big the room is! There is also a hot spring downstairs for you to soak in. Japan is a home for the elderly. Dinner is not bad. The restaurant is on the ninth floor with a very wide view and a spectacular sea view! I have to thank Ctrip here. When I booked, I saw that there was a sea view in the picture, but there was actually no hotel. If you want to see the sea view, you have to add 3,000 yen. Later, I called Ctrip and it was solved smoothly! Like"

"We managed to book the family suite we had our hearts set on, and the ocean views from the two large windows were absolutely breathtaking. The hotel boasts a charming retro Showa-era ambiance; despite renovations, its historical character shines through everywhere. We only had a chance to visit one of the public baths, and the outdoor bath there offered a truly spectacular view. We also booked a private onsen, where you could enjoy soaking while indulging in ice cream. We had the second dinner seating, so some dishes were already finished. I highly recommend making your own kaisen-don (seafood rice bowl) with ingredients like tuna, trout, and sweet shrimp, and then pouring dashi broth over it to turn it into chazuke. After dinner, you can explore the game corner and KTV, but do note that playing games and karaoke are not free. The hotel itself is quite expansive, so I recommend taking some time to explore all its corners. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment!"

"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Oonoya. One of the perks was the free shuttle bus from Atami Station to the hotel. However, the map provided on the website seems outdated, which caused some initial confusion. Thankfully, the station staff was very helpful and directed us to the correct bus bay.
A highlight of our trip was catching the Atami fireworks from the hotel’s rooftop — the view was absolutely perfect and made for a memorable evening. The indoor hot spring was also a standout feature: it’s spacious, spotlessly clean, and very relaxing after a long day of travel.
Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Just be sure to double-check shuttle bus details upon arrival!"

After arriving at the hotel, someone immediately helped to park the car. We checked in while drinking champagne. There is a lounge with free snacks and various drinks all day long, which is very high quality.
The room is large and comfortable, with an unbeatable sea view. The hot spring in the room is very comfortable. The mini bar has various free drinks, including juice, tea, alcoholic drinks, etc.
The dinner is really great. Authentic French cuisine. I ate it for two days without repeating it. The ingredients are more advanced every day. I have to stay for more than three consecutive days for dinner.
The perfect hotel gave me a perfect vacation"

AAvedisThis hotel really great for locationwise.. nearby all those eatery places and souvenirs shops. The onsen really good as well and the room quite big and clean. The only upset us since we booked another day through differrent apps but when we checked in we told the lady and also pay all the tax at the same time but we hv to check out and change the room. On the day we change the room the man charge us again the tax eventhough i already explained and ask him to doublechecked. On the last day we asked again and show them the receipt so they gave us back the tax money. Its not about the amount of money but their serve that i want to point it out.

Public onsen provides inside and outside experience.
The only disappointed is there is a Group of HK people arrived, there is a man full of tatoo get in public onsen. I checked the rules at front door. It mentioned Tatoo is prohibited. This kind of stupid HK people is a shame for HK when they travel around in Japan. Dont understand the culture of Japan.
No parking area for loading, Car parking needs to use next hotel, a bit inconvenience if you carrying few luggages. 🧳

Ee02234454The breakfast was really lavish, featuring local specialty sashimi and seafood rice, along with grilled fish and other dishes.
I drove myself, and the parking lot is on the hillside next to the hotel, requiring a few minutes' uphill walk.
As for the environment, the hotel is generally quite old, and it seems most places there might be a bit aged. However, the rooms all offer sea views, which is a nice touch.
The onsen area is quite simple, somewhat resembling a public bathhouse.

GGuest UserIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities.
The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami!
I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.

CCHIU HANAt first, I was worried about the facial recognition system and the user experience at the self-service check-in after reading the reviews. Once we arrived, the location was easy to find and check-in was very simple. There was a sticker at the door with the booking person's name, the bed number, and a code. Just press the code to enter. It's less than 15 minutes from Atami Station, and the walk from the station to the hotel is downhill. There's a supermarket and convenience store in between. It's a short walk from Atami Nanayu and Kinomiya Shrine. The restrooms and bathrooms were clean, with separate bathrooms for men and women. The beds were large, and the value for money was very good.

3. There’s a “living room” area for you to hang out with others but it seems to always be occupied by a group of people

1. There is NO light from station to the stay, so if you’re walking at night it’s REALLY scary and eerie

GGuest UserHotel is near to Sun beach and a shopping district. It also provides shuttle bus service to the train station and is really convenient. Shout out to staff Fukumara Imelda! Excellent service from her and she acceded to my request for a change in room (with a top up fee) and made the procedures real smooth! Worth a stay for families as the rooms with tatamis are huge.

PPumpkinOverall, it could be rated excellent as a local ryokan but may not be ready for international clients. It has won Rakuten bronze award 2023. I am particular about smoking and the non smoking room was full of smoky smell. Also surprised that I have to set up my own tatami bed etc. Staff dependent on google translate but stranded when there's no WiFi. They could have translated common phrases in text. Nice garden.

KKunduSouravThis is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel. All instructions are in English however, means there are foreigners regularly staying here. There is a open air onsen (hot bath) which is very pleasant. Must be reserved in advance. Drinks can be bought at 200 yen a pop. This is a fully unmanned Ryokan meaning it self check in and self checkout ! The rooms are very small (4 meter square) which barely fits a bed. Pictures on the travel sites about the rooms in this hotel are deceiving ! The location is sort of OK from Kinomiya station but it's quite far from Atami city center and Atami sun beach . We took at taxi which was 1200 yen. Kinomiya Jinja is 25 minutes by foot.
