"I dont really write reviews but i had to on this occasion. Me and my partner popped in for a drink during the week and was looked after by the wonderful kenny happy go lucky and very knowledgable about islay and gave us some tips on were to go. We enjoyed it that we went back for another drink later in the day only to be greeted by the most miserable bar person colin. It is like he doesnt want to be there. Very negitive attitude, no smile and swearing Safe to say we never finished our drinks . You have a real aset in kenny great for the hotel."

"Two couples do it. Both are good people. Husband is serious and sincere, wife is kind and kind. It's a short walk from the airport and the bus stop is right in front of you, so the convenience is good and the scenery is perfect."

"This is the first time I’ve said on here avoid at all costs. Positive: comfy bed and good size room. Free parking and a bar. Negative: Exceptionally poor service at breakfast-allow at least an hour to finally get and eat a hot breakfast. We sent the porridge back to be reheated, we had to ask for the honey to go with it, we sent the toast back to get some colour on it rather than eating warm bread, then we had to ask for butter and jam ! No sign but you help yourself to coffee, (just put a sign up and it’s no problem). They only part service the rooms- they replenish tea coffee etc but don’t make your bed. They do not serve evening meals (which is probably a good thing!). Lack of staff around in the day and at breakfast. We reported twice our towel rack was broken and nothing done about it. We mentioned to a local we were staying here and she said oh no never stay there. That says it all really ! Having paid for their suite we did rather foolishly expect a sea view, beware you don’t get one !"

"We stayed for four nights as part of the Scottish Routes 5-Day Islay Whisky Tour and had a fantastic experience. The location is ideal for visiting all of Islay’s renowned distilleries, making it the perfect base for exploring the island. The friendly hosts, Andrew and Alison, truly enhance the stay with their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge of the local area, which they are happy to share with guests. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with plenty of choice and quality ingredients. The breakfast dram was a wonderful touch and a memorable way to start each day’s whisky adventures. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed."
