"Nice firm comfortable mattress and soft pillow made sleeping great. In the restaurant we ordered from ala-carte menu. Met up with manager Vishal who helped us through the Indian vegetarian meal and honestly can say him and his staff prepared a superb dinner. To simply put it the whole experience of staying there was superb. Views of river Nile from outside the room was breath taking. Overall great experience. 👍"

"We stayed in this hotel for only one night but we had a great time. The staff was especially nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit smaller but it was enough for two people. It is a more remote area of Jinja but it's safe and calm. Definitely recommend getting grilled fish in the restaurant!"

"We have stayed at 2 Friends several times since 2016 with both the previous and current management. We have explored other hotels and guest houses in Jinja but always return to 2 Friends for good reason, their consistent quality accommodations. The grounds, dining area, and pool are beatifully maintained and there have been upgrades to the rooms (A/C, TV, mattresses, etc.) over the years. Management pays attention to detail and 2 Friends is a very pleasant place to stay and relax. From the time we arrived, Leticia at reception made sure that we were happy with our room and cared for our needs. The housekeeping (Margaret & Prossy) and waitress (Josephine & Zubega) staff are so friendly, helpful, and diligent, as is the chef, Mary, who happily prepares a beautiful breakfast each morning with an extensive selection and even provides some items via order. For lunch or for dinner, food can be ordered from All Friends, the restaurant next door (under different management), and delivered to your room or the dining area at 2 Friends which is a nice feature that we took advantage of several time. We have eaten at All Friends many times since the early 2000's when we lived in Jinja and while we feel that the overall appearance of the restaurant has declined, the pizzas are still very good. If you are visiting Jinja, 2 Friends is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. The maintenance of the hotel, incredible staff, and amenities at their price point are unmatched."

"The owner of the hotel was very nice. But other than the behaviour of the owner nothing was right. The location of the hotel is not good at all. It is just beside the highway. So due to the sound of vehicles people can not sleep at night. I don’t recommend this hotel to stay."

"Love this place! I have been twice. in 2022, and 2025. We love the staff, Sylvester is the most humble host, and everyone cares so much about your happiness. The owner, Mr. Tilly is a very kind man.THE KITCHEN IS IMMACULATE!! I have worked in it, and I am from America...our kitchens are FAR more to worry about as I have worked in them as well. I am from Florida. If you are going here thinking that it will be like American hotels, why are you leaving America? This is Africa, and more specifically Uganda! They have their own culture, and ways of doing things. So, as an American let me tell you this, in all of Uganda, at restaurants that is, they cook everything to order. It is not Fast Food, It is amazing food! and you will wait for it. I suggest ordering dinner at breakfast time and setting up your dinner time. You will be more happy that way if you do not like waiting. This Mazungu has learned how to be patient, thanks to Ugandans! I go back this summer!!"

"If you are in Jinja: go to the Backpackers. We enjoyed our stay so so much: Nash and all the other staff is truly amazing, always open for a chat and willing to help you with activities you can do. We stayed in a ensuite double room and it was really beautiful- so is the whole place: The huge garden, the restaurant and the bar, all the little places you can sit and relax- or even work because there's WiFi everywhere. The food is great, especially the breakfast is amazing. They have 2 very friendly dogs and 2 nice cats. The location is perfect, it's quiet but also not far from town, the staff is more than happy to call an bodha for you, so you won't get overcharged. We can highly recommend the place, it's not too expensive and really worth a stay."

"Shambles is quite possibly an understatement to describe the experience. There are significant issues that should be raised before this questionable hotel should be allowed to receive guests. So let’s review the issues that quantify this place being a shambles: 1- Rooms were not ready (we arrived at 1500hrs ish). 2- Rooms were unclean and appeared to have plenty of temp fixes to them: a. windows not fitting correctly in place leaving large gaps between the walls and window frame. b. towels at the bottom of wood rotted doors. c. bed sheets still dirty and stained d. towels stained and dirty brown e. bugs in the bed sheets 3- Snacks or food menu; food was ordered but the food we got was not that of what was advertised on the menu and lacked items from the menu on the plate such as the main ingredient (instead alternative was given with still no full compliment of what was on the actual menu. a. Would not reduce the cost of the item either. 4- trip was arranged to go on a boat trip from reception staff and the trip was to that of somewhere else that was requested by group lead. 5- kettle in the room ✅ cup ✅ teaspoon ✅ sugar ✅ tea or coffee ❌ milk ❌ 6- used flip flops in the bathroom for us to use, no thank you that is unclean yet again. 7- one poor sole in the group had a bed shower with a downpour from the ceiling and the mourning rain storm. This hotel needs a full lesson on all aspects of hospitality and the needs and requirements of guests and expectations of it were to survive."
