Jinja Nile Resort ★★★★
"I had a wonderfully peaceful and comfortable stay. The bed was exceptionally cozy — one of the most comfortable I’ve experienced, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The overall atmosphere was quiet and serene, perfect for unwinding. The hotel maintains an old-world charm, especially noticeable in the main lobby and the upstairs area of the reception. It adds a unique character that sets it apart from more modern, impersonal accommodations. The staff were friendly, attentive, and proactive in ensuring that every aspect of the stay was smooth and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality truly made the experience memorable. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend booking a room on the riverside. These rooms not only offer lovely views but also enhance the overall sense of peace and connection with nature. Would definitely return!"
Hotel Zeptan ★★★
"We stayed in this hotel for only one night but we had a great time. The staff was especially nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit smaller but it was enough for two people. It is a more remote area of Jinja but it's safe and calm. Definitely recommend getting grilled fish in the restaurant!"
2 Friends Guest House ★★★★
"We have stayed at 2 Friends several times since 2016 with both the previous and current management. We have explored other hotels and guest houses in Jinja but always return to 2 Friends for good reason, their consistent quality accommodations. The grounds, dining area, and pool are beatifully maintained and there have been upgrades to the rooms (A/C, TV, mattresses, etc.) over the years. Management pays attention to detail and 2 Friends is a very pleasant place to stay and relax. From the time we arrived, Leticia at reception made sure that we were happy with our room and cared for our needs. The housekeeping (Margaret & Prossy) and waitress (Josephine & Zubega) staff are so friendly, helpful, and diligent, as is the chef, Mary, who happily prepares a beautiful breakfast each morning with an extensive selection and even provides some items via order. For lunch or for dinner, food can be ordered from All Friends, the restaurant next door (under different management), and delivered to your room or the dining area at 2 Friends which is a nice feature that we took advantage of several time. We have eaten at All Friends many times since the early 2000's when we lived in Jinja and while we feel that the overall appearance of the restaurant has declined, the pizzas are still very good. If you are visiting Jinja, 2 Friends is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. The maintenance of the hotel, incredible staff, and amenities at their price point are unmatched."
Igar Plaza Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Also the food are good. Incase that anyone need to avoid the insects and Reptiles inside the room will be a good choice in Jinja. Also its in the main street of jinja which ia near to almost everything needed include gifts,banks..etc."
Jinja Backpackers ★★
"We stayed at Jinja Backpackers for the weekend as three families, and it honestly felt like home. The kids had so much space to play, with free bicycles and scooters, cozy corners for reading, and even gazebos where they played cards. The friendly dogs made it feel even warmer! Rooms were clean, affordable, and each had its own charm. One family had the quadruple room ($90) that felt like a small home. Another stayed in a private cabin surrounded by greenery ($70). My family took the 8-bed dorm with a private bathroom wing perfect for our big group. You can also get a single dorm bed for just $15. They let us use the percolator for hot water anytime, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was incredible I’m not a fish person, but the fish curry was unforgettable. Huge thanks to Ivan and the amazing staff for being so helpful, kind, and flexible. We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back!"
Kisa Apartments ★★★
"Not bad, not bad, really not bad."
Hotel Paradise on the Nile ★★★
"Love this place! I have been twice. in 2022, and 2025. We love the staff, Sylvester is the most humble host, and everyone cares so much about your happiness. The owner, Mr. Tilly is a very kind man.THE KITCHEN IS IMMACULATE!! I have worked in it, and I am from America...our kitchens are FAR more to worry about as I have worked in them as well. I am from Florida. If you are going here thinking that it will be like American hotels, why are you leaving America? This is Africa, and more specifically Uganda! They have their own culture, and ways of doing things. So, as an American let me tell you this, in all of Uganda, at restaurants that is, they cook everything to order. It is not Fast Food, It is amazing food! and you will wait for it. I suggest ordering dinner at breakfast time and setting up your dinner time. You will be more happy that way if you do not like waiting. This Mazungu has learned how to be patient, thanks to Ugandans! I go back this summer!!"
JD LUXURY HOTEL
"The owner of the hotel was very nice. But other than the behaviour of the owner nothing was right. The location of the hotel is not good at all. It is just beside the highway. So due to the sound of vehicles people can not sleep at night. I don’t recommend this hotel to stay."
The Mansion Hotel Jinja ★★★
"Don't prepay. We reserved 36 rooms for 2 nights and 15 rooms for one night and prepaid for them during a conference we had planned at their hotel. They booked us for one day earlier (which was never in our plan) and charged us for the rooms that weren't occupied. They waited for 2 days to tell us they were charging us for the rooms anyway. Many participants in our conference had to leave a day earlier. Joshua the general manager, was apparently unconcerned about how their mistake happened and blamed it on us. He said that we confirmed on a phone call on the day in question. The check in date was never mentioned so we confirmed for what we thought was the for the next day. The hotel knew that our Reception Dinner was planned on the next day which was supposed to the check in date. They had that correct. So why did they have the check-in date wrong? Joshua unilaterally decided not to take in consideration our point of view of the situation and offered no apologies."
