"Absolutely amazing hotel to stay in Katharagama. Hospitality and the customer service is top notch. The place is located overlooking a lake which js serene. Food is the best in the area both portion n quality..it's a lady chef who is running the show Chef Wasana does amazing job with the food and Dusuni who was the FnB who took care of us. Third time here and thought they deserve a comment..love it you should try it too."

"We booked a room with three meals. We didn't pay attention to the number of people at that time. We thought it was the same as in China. As long as we booked a room, we could have as many people as we wanted. When we got here, we had three more people, including two children. We had to pay a total of 240 US dollars. I felt quite regretful at that time. I felt that the three meals were not worth eating. I didn't expect that after checking in, I would have a different experience. There was a rich barbecue for dinner. In the morning, we went to see the animals and the breakfast packed for us was also very rich. In addition to the rich lunch at noon, each person got a big lobster, which was much more than we expected. The most unforgettable thing was lying on a chair at night, with a bonfire burning next to me, lying on a recliner with my child, looking at the starry sky, counting stars, and looking for constellations, and there were no mosquitoes. After living in a hotel for so many years, this is the first time I have seen such a beautiful starry sky and the first time I have eaten such a big lobster in the meal. It feels worth it! The accommodation conditions of the room are a little worse because it is a wild camp, which should be understandable."

"My wife & I stayed at the Kynrock Hotel & Resorts in Kataragama on 14th February during our bi-annual visit to Kataragama. We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel, Kynrook in Kataragama. I was told that the hotel had started during August 2025. When you entered the hotel, it looks like a classical American hotel. When you enter first you will see classic swimming pool. We came on time and the staff's warm welcome made us feel at home. The room was ready when we arrived. We were on the 3rd floor, and the room is fairly larger than I expected. Rooms were clean, spacious, and had lot of space. It has all the amenities we needed. There are plenty of plug points in the room which would be useful for different work simultaneously. I was highly impressed with architectural design of the room. The price is very reasonable. The rooms facing a large paddy field were very beautiful and the lobby for each room is facing the paddy field. The room service was excellent. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay in Kataragama. When I go to Kataragam next, I will never stay at any other hotel other than Kynrock. "One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was very dirty, and the commode seat was not fixed properly or was broken. The bathroom also had a very bad smell, and when you opened the bathroom door, the smell spread into the room. The towels and pillowcases had many stain marks. We booked a family room with full board, but after lunch, they only offered dessert when we requested it. When I asked about it, they simply said they were very busy and forgot. Our room was for four people, but they had kept amenities only for two. After requesting four times, they finally arranged the items for the other two people. Dinner was good, but the breakfast was really not worth the money. Considering the price they charge, this hotel needs 100% improvement. Not recommended at all."

"Travelling with a group so didn't book personally. Lovely hotel with clean spacious rooms and complimentary water, tea and coffee along with toiletries. Breakfast has an omelette station which is always a bonus. We were fortunate to stay Christmas Eve with a gala dinner that was incredible. Lots of choice and delicious! Recommend this hotel."

"You really do get the feeling of being in the bush here, yet you have the luxuries like aircon, showers and a pool to cool off in. The food they serve is clearly sourced locally, very fresh and made on camp. Don't expect 5 star resort choice rather home quality food which we loved, especially the Buffalo curd for breakfast. They take you on safari in their own vehicles and their guides(all university trained naturalists of various types) do know their stuff. We didn't see Leopards but plenty of others did, our bad luck. We did 2 safaris, others did more which clearly increases your chances of seeing them. It is dusty, hot and bumpy but if we enjoyed it and we are in our 60's its not that hard work"
