"We loved this resort and our cute, classic cottage although at first the resort felt like too large a property for us after all the small hotels we had stayed in during the prior few weeks. But it felt just right once we knew our way around. We could have stayed for longer - the setting on the lake is stunning, the pool area is so inviting and the food is good with amazing variety. We had lunch poolside, dinner in the fish restaurant and breakfast in the main dining room where the buffet is incredibly varied and tasty. We enjoyed the yoga and included sunset boat ride as well. You arrive and depart this resort by boat which is fun and unique and you are never missing a water view from this property - it is so picturesque and scenic. The outdoor seating areas and the amazing lush grounds make it feel so private and expansive - there are many walking paths to enjoy and we liked the butterfly garden. There is a rec room and gym but we did not have time to use them. We enjoyed the provided entertainment - evening dance show over a cocktail before dinner and morning music in the dining room. We would stay longer next time for sure."

Morning breakfast has limited options only, for lunch and dinner you need to book well in advance which is a drawback. No option for deserts except ice cream. Food quality is average. No camp fire and music. Pool was without any attendant. Indoor play area was not maintained like almost closed. So just good room and nothing much overall."

"Often when people rave about a place you end up going there and are a bit disappointed. Not Taj Kumarakom. Despite the highest levels of praise from our friends, we had a truly magical and wonderful experience - made possible by the property and the backwater experiences of course, but most importantly by THE PEOPLE OF TAJ. Starting with Ms Priya, the duty manager, and several other staff - including Suresh Sir (reserved tables for our family even without asking), Alan (knew exactly what we wanted after just one order), Anish, Ajo, Lucy, Fami, Fatima, Seji, Akshaya, Dr Akshara, Malu at the pool, Nitya our yoga teacher, Sachin and Sanjay at the Activity centre, and of course Shadab the GM, the experience is truly magical and you are incredibly well looked after. THE ROOMS are large, spacious, stepping out into the lake. THE FACILITIES are superb, the Ayurveda centre, kayaking, zip lining were all memorable. THE EXPERIENCES are one of a kind. We did the Shikara sunset ride (cannot miss it), the house boat for four hours (wouldn’t recommend overnight stay), evening sunset tea/ coffee, and of course the Ayurveda centre. THE PROPERTY is stunningly beautiful and so well maintained. You will take too many pictures! THE FOOD is wonderful - not only the authentic Kerala cuisine, but also the non Kerala food was top notch. A huge thanks to all at the property but particularly, Priya looked after us incredibly well, took special care of a senior citizen in our party, suggested and booked places and experiences, and overall was the anchor for our stay, making us feel so much at home. Wouldn’t have been the same without her and her colleagues."

"I stayed at this beautiful resort on 11 January and had booked 2 rooms for my family for 5 adults and 2 toddlers and we had a fantastic experience, the rooms are spacious and the beds are really comfortable, the bathrooms are just the right size only the shower cubicle which is a tad small for people with large built. Right from welcoming to the breakfast the staff was simply amazing especially the restaurant staff who understood the order well and the local kerala delicacies were excellent. This place has a serene view of the backwaters, nice backwater facing restaurant and big lawns and a small play area for the kids to play, in the pictures the property might look old but it is really well maintained. We could experience the spa as all the slots were booked to the capacity. Only a small feedback to the hotel staff, there is a bridge near the boat jetty and a few railings from the same are missing which I feel is a safety hazard for the kids. The sunset from this resort is beautiful, you can sit on the benches and kill hours Thank you for taking care of us and we will be back soon !!!"

There was a pipe leak in the washroom and noone even bothered to get back to us even after complaining about it. We had to call them multiple times, and even if u ask for a laundry bag, they would give it to you after 20-25 mins."
