"We first booked in March 2021 when this was Sorobon Beach Resort but cancelled owing to travel restrictions during COVID-19 pandemic. The resort has changed hands since and has been nicely renovated and improved. It is now the Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort. We had a premium ocean front beach house with amazing views of the bay. The small well-equipped kitchen is ideal for breakfast and lunch. In the evenings we dined at the Reef Bar where the food is delicious. The electric power sockets in the beach house are the European two-pin socket. I had assumed, in error, that the socket would be an American flat pin type. If you are from UK, please bring an adaptor for 2 round pins. We bought groceries at the Van Den Tweel supermarket in Kralendijk. We asked the front desk to arrange a return trip by taxi as we did not rent a car. Lac Bay is a nature reserve, part of the Bonaire marine park. It is also a windsurfing holiday destination, a perfect place to learn as the water is shallow. The southern half of the bay is waist deep, good for windsurfing. The north and west side of the bay are deeper and better for wing foiling. We rented from the Dunkerbeck Pro Center, a water sports centre at the resort. Resort guests are entitled to 20% discount for rentals by the day. Various lessons are available but these are not discounted. Outside the Sorobon Luxury Resort. Next to the resort is Jibe City, a water sports centre. The popular Hangout Beach Bar is located here. Further along is Sebastian’s Beach Cafe. We had a pizza there. Further north, at the deep end of the bay, is Frans Paradise water sports school and hire centre. This is a better place to do wing foiling as the lagoon is deep and not crowded. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort. The location is ideal for enjoying the nature reserve and water sports. It is busy during the day with windsurfers and cruise ship visitors but at night it is tranquil and very relaxing. We like to mention Maria, our friendly room attendant, for her good service."

"The hotel is well located, but it is quite strange. When I got there, there was no one at the reception. I had to contact a number that was posted on the door of the establishment in order to look for information to check-in. I was informed that check-in would be at 3pm (I arrived at 10:30am), but they would try to bring it forward for me. Given the delay, we preferred to go to the beach and leave check-in until after 5pm. When I returned to the hotel, I met the receptionist, who was not friendly, who carried out the long procedure. He didn't explain much about the hotel, nor about the entrance card and key. Pillows are like pillows: small and hard. I needed help twice because of the room key, however, there were no staff at the hotel. I contacted them via WhatsApp, but the receptionist was not around. In fact, I only saw the employee at check-in. In other words, if you need help, it will not be possible to receive assistance. When checking out, I just left the key and card at the reception desk and left."

"We did not stay here. We come to this island for 3 months at a time, and simply can't afford it. However, we go here frequently on a "day pass". It's inexpensive, and allows you access to the beach, the pool, the bar/restaurant, and the easy-access steps into the ocean (where you can snorkel). Although (regretfully) i can no longer dive, this place seems to run an awesome dive shop. We have seen them take out people who are in wheelchairs, people with missing limbs, very old folks, anyone with a C card who wants to dive. If you can be helped into the water, they will get you there. The staff for the beach and the bar/restaurant are great. (Shout out to Marco, the bartender who's been there for years). It is a very pleasant and welcoming experience."

The owners and the entire staff are incredibly warm and made us feel welcome from the start, providing plenty of excellent local recommendations and a seamless airport transfer. The cleanliness here is remarkable; both our room and the entire hotel were absolutely spotless. While the island itself feels very safe, we loved that the hotel is tucked away and features a locking gate, which provided an extra layer of peace of mind during our stay. The location is also perfect, as it’s an easy walk to downtown, several great beach bars, and a variety of delicious restaurants. The convenience of this hotel is unbeatable. Being able to rent a car and scuba gear directly on-site saved us so much time, and they even arranged a ccuba guide for us when we needed one. The food was another highlight; the daily breakfast was a great start to our mornings, and the fondue night was a lovely, delicious experience. We highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a personal touch and a perfect, secure home base."

Each of the rooms is set in a beautiful tropical garden which is looked after every day by gardeners and such a restful place. Large room with a lovely bathroom and everything you need on hand. The staff were very accommodating and small touches like a cool box to use around the island was much appreciated. We loved it so much we extended our stay by four nights! "Disappointed Liked · Kitchen was great and well-equiped, ar-conditioning was functioning well. Cleaning was fine and Room is spacious. Beach towels are offered (upon a deposit of U$100 upfront). Disliked · Things changed a lot and compared to sep/22, it is now (nov/23) really disappointing and much more expensive for what it is offering. I definitely won't choose to stay there again. - The resort gives priority to the day-use visitors and to the restaurant instead of the guests, so if you are looking for a quite place to stay: forget it. - On the weekends pool is packed of people who are not staying at the hotel, meaning lower safety and privacy. - Front office opens at 9am, if you need something before this time (or after 5pm), you won´t get the best help possible - Room was smelling musty and ciggarette, even though I asked for a non-smoking room. There was mold on the ceiling, indicating no proper maintainance. - Tissue paper was not replaced during the stay. And this is basic! - And if you don´t speak Dutch, you won´t get much attention from the staff overall. Em geral: Decepcionada O que gostei: A cozinha era ótima e super bem equipada, o ar condicionado funcionava bem. A limpeza foi boa e o quarto é bem espaçoso. Toalhas de praia são oferecidas (mediante depósito antecipado de U$100). O que Não gostei · Fiquei hospedada aqui em set/22 tambem, e de lá para cá as coisas mudaram muito. Agora - novembro de 2023 foi realmente decepcionante e muito mais caro pelo que oferece. Definitivamente não escolherei ficar lá novamente. - O resort dá prioridade aos visitantes de day-use e ao restaurante em vez dos hóspedes, então se você está procurando um lugar tranquilo para ficar: esqueça. - Nos finais de semana a piscina fica lotada de pessoas que não estão hospedadas no hotel, o que significa menor segurança e privacidade. - A recepção abre às 9h, se precisar de algo antes deste horário (ou depois das 17h), não terá a melhor ajuda possível. - O quarto cheirava a mofo e cigarro, embora eu tenha pedido um quarto para não fumantes. Havia mofo no teto, indicando falta de manutenção adequada. - O papel higienico não foi substituído durante a estadia. E isso é básico! - E se você não fala holandês, não receberá muita atenção da equipe em geral."

"I was very happy we decided to stay at Delfins Beach Resort. We stayed in one of the two-bedroom apartments. The main pool is very nice, with direct access to the bar. We typically skipped the buffet and got breakfast at Boertiek, which offered decent coffee, smoothies, yogurt parfaits, and pastries. For lunch or a casual dinner, the Beach Brasserie was excellent—I especially enjoyed the goat stew. And for a more formal dinner (by island standards), the Brass Boer was truly excellent—arguably the best restaurant on Bonaire—and we ate at many excellent restaurants during our weeklong visit."

"The provided gear lockers and locks need a little love, but our gear was safe and secure every morning. There are two hangers provided at each room so I would suggest bringing a bit of cave line for a laundry line. I can’t say enough nice things about the excellent staff at the dive shop, front desk, and rinse tank area. Breakfast was included with our package and was very nice, well stocked, clean, and always enjoyable. With the exception of a single bad experience at Blennie’s, undercooked food and very slow service, it was an excellent stay and we look forward to spending another month with buddy dive. The inability to select a room when making a reservation feels like I’m living in 1980 again, but not a deal killer. As is mentioned in many reviews the WiFi is complete trash in the rooms, you have to sit at the front desk or the restaurants for a reliable connection. Were are here to dive but lack of decent WiFi is a bit lazy. Sadly for the diving and the atmosphere that we have always enjoyed on the island cruise boats appear to be the future of Bonaire. Almost every day we were here there was a boat in port and a fleet of golf carts on the island."
