Days Inn by Wyndham Lockerbie Annandale Water ★★★

"This hotel is desperately in need of a refurbishment. It is incredibly tired and below par even for a low-budget hotel. As a disabled person, I was disgusted by how out of touch they were with code in this day and age, including a serious violation. We had very hard beds, which I couldn't sleep on, so I ended up with no sleep. The showers were over a bath (not very practical for a disabled person, especially with no bath seat), and the water pressure was basically a dribble, so it took forever to wash long hair. All in all, it's a shame the hotel itself is so disappointing, as it is in an ideal location for stopping off when traveling through, and it's situated beside a beautiful lake. The staff were very polite."

"Honest hotel. Warm welcome, free upgrade as they were quiet. Good room, comfy bed. Huge bathroom with Roll Top Bath and sep Shower. Could do with some hooks for towels but hey for 1 night it's fine. Bar area very welcoming with log fire lit, dinner just as good as we remembered and breakfast again cooked to order. Pots of coffee not someone wandering around with a jug and fresh water as part of the juice line up. We find all the staff including Glen the owner very personable. It's location works for us."

"Booked Superior Twin room in this 4* Hotel and that was what this hotel charged us for. However, on the morning of travel we were diverted to an uncomfortable room in a very much inferior 3* sister hotel. "

"Recently returned from our stay at the The Hightae Inn, wow what a super stay. We arrived on a sunny afternoon and were greeted by the lovely Morag who immediately made us feel very welcome. We were soon enjoying a nice cold beer and a glass of wine in the sunny courtyard before an amazing dinner. Morag is an excellent cook and our meal for was superb. Our room was homely, very clean and with a comfortable bed, we had a great nights sleep. Hightae is a pretty, quiet village surrounded by countryside, its close to the main routes north and south, so worth taking a short detour to find. All in all, a trip to The Hightae Inn is like visiting a friends home and being very well looked after while there, can highly recommend and will definitely return."
