Grande Hotel de Luso ★★★★

📍 R. Dr. José Cid de Oliveira 86, Luso

"Positive: Indoor swimming pool. Gymnasium. Reasonable rooms. Location and surroundings. Friendly staff, super accessible. Breakfast. To have lunch. Welcome bottles of water. To improve: Replace plastic water bottles with glass. Building starts to need some maintenance (exterior painting, dirty carpets). Exaggerated price of meals (€25/person) for dinner. Pool towels cost €1.5/person. Cost of bathrobes for the pool €5 / Person. No slippers (we're talking about a 4*). Hotel at maximum capacity, there was no parking. Only one elevator which is very little toilet in the room with a tall bathtub, should be replaced with a shower."

📍 Emidio Navarro nr2, R. Eng. Ernesto Navarro 3050, Luso

"The house is very old, so you can easily hear noises from the other rooms (footsteps, people talking, hair dryers, snoring, etc.). We woke up early because someone was using a hair dryer and snoring, so we didn’t sleep well. The shower door did not close properly, and the bedroom door handle is falling off. The mattress was good. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was okay."

Vila Duparchy ★★★

📍 R. Dr. José Duarte Figueiredo, Luso

"Charming old villa hidden in beautiful gardens. Secluded, but short walking distance to the pleasant town of Luso, close to Bucaco forest and about half hour drive to Coimbra. Wonderful place to stay if you like old world authentic atmosphere. Quiet, serene place to spend the night(s). Comfy beds with a quality bedding, beautiful antique furnishing. Our room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was on the premises. Breakfast was served in the pleasant sun room. Good selection of food and perfect omelette. Great experience!"

Inatel Luso ★★★
"A grand hotel in the old style. It was undergoing significant renovation while I stayed, so they're clearly making an effort to remain competitive. Staff was courteous and helpful. The dinner in the restaurant was tasty and filling at a good price. All in all an excellent value. My only complaint is the strong musty odor in my room. Fortunately the weather was good so I could open the windows wide, but the hotel really needs to eliminate the source of the smell. I didn't know before visiting Luso that it's famous for the quality of its water. The photo show the spouts in the center of town where locals come to fill their containers."

Grande Hotel de Luso ★★★★
"Good. I called the hotel to ask if they could make a little surprise breakfast for my sister. As she and her boyfriend are regular customers (they go there every year) it would be nice to see her birthday today. The receptionist didn't even make an effort to try to do the slightest thing. I know I said it just for the moment, but I also just needed a candle and some cake for breakfast. But for the receptionist this was impossible."

Alegre - Bussaco Boutique Hotel ★★★
"Very classic hotel in decoration and furniture. The heating was somewhat noisy which made it difficult to rest until I had to turn it off. Breakfast is good but I think it would be very useful to start at 8.00am rather than 8.30am. Very friendly staff."
